Description of Work: Last year we lost our zoysia lawn after over 30 years. We consulted Eric Schmid of Burke Lawn Care for advice and recommendations. He recommended that we replace the lawn with zoysia sod. Eric coordinated the effort in association with Burke Garden Centre and the work was completed last September.

He was very professional, always did what he said he was going to do, and if it did not do well, he would come back and re-do it without charging me. I believe his name was Eric. He appeared to be very interested in treating his customers fairly and also in treating their lawns. I would highly recommend him to others. He never would get offended if you had concerns or questions, but instead would listen and no question was unimportant or foolish to him, and he treated me like a lady.
Description of Work: He used to take care of my lawn for at least 10 years.

+ 0 moreI have been a customer of Burke Lawn Care since they started in 2005. My lawn has never looked better. I have used many different lawn care providers, to include Scotts, Turf Builders, and others. They seemed to lose sight of the idea that it was the lawns they were treating, and their appearance that kept their customers coming back. I was looking for a provider that looked at my lawn as if it was their own, and would care for it that way. I have always recieved that kind of service from Burke Lawn Care. They are the best.

We like not having to tote heavy sacks of materials home, and not having to worry about applying things at the optimal time. We pay in advance for an additional discount, and feel like the price we pay is reasonable and of good value. We have been very happy with their service.
Description of Work: We have had a yearly complete lawn care contract with BURKE Nursery for a number of years. It includes lawn fertilization, weed and insect control, lime application, aeration, and fall reseeding. We have also had BURKE Nursery do several landscaping projects for us, including stone planters, flagstone patio, dry creek bed, and new plantings.

+ 0 moreOur yard is green and lush! We have a shaded yard that is also hilly, and in the past 10 years we have tried different lawn care companies but with no improvement. Burke Lawn Care has made a huge difference, we now have grass that holds the soil during heavy rain, no more erosion! They are extremely responsive to my concerns. The day after they aerated and seeded this past fall we have heavy rain and I was worried the seed would have washed away. I called and requested that they reseed a few problem areas. Burke Lawn Care reseeded the entire yard! We made the decision to switch to Burke Lawn Care based on a neighbor's recommendation and we are very thankful that we did!

+ 0 moreI've been using Burke Lawn Care for 2 years now and have them help me maintain a lawn which exists in a hilly, shady neighborhood. Overall, they come and do their work quickly and efficiently and never leave me a mess nor do they forgot to close and lock gates. Since I have a dog this is especially helpful. I really like the Burke Lawn Care website where you can make specific requests as you deem necessary (e.g. putting down sod, aerating, mosquito control) or you can just have them perform customized services based on your specific needs. My one criticism is that they need to do a better job at communicating when they are coming to do their services so I can leave my gate unlocked for my backyard.

+ 0 moreWE HAVE BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH WHAT THE COMPANY DID ON THE LAWN. THE FIRST BIG IMPROVEMENT WAS THE ELIMINATION OF CLOVER AND WILD STRAWBERRIES.....WE ACTUALLY HAVE LOTS OF GRASS NOW (AND NO BROWN SPOTS). I HAD ALWAYS USED SCOTTS FERTILIZER THREE TIMES A YEAR BUT THIS HAS BEEN A MARKED IMPROVEMENT. THE GRASS IS SO GREEN NOW....I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS DUE TO THE LATE FALL FERTILIZATION OR THE FACT THAT I AM COMPOSTING ALL THE FALL LEAVES ONTO THE GRASS INSTEAD OF BAGGING THE LEAVES AND DISCARDING THEM. THEY HAVE EMAILED ME WHEN THEY ARE COMING THE NEXT DAY. AT TIMES WE HAVE BEEN OUT OF STATE WHEN THEY SAID THEY WERE COMING, AND I ASKED IF THEY COULD COME ANOTHER TIME WHEN WE WOULD BE AT HOME. THEY COMPLIED TO MY REQUEST WITH NO PROBLEM. BY MID SUMMER WE REALIZED WE WOULD BE GONE AN AWFUL LOT THIS PAST FALL. I CONTACTED BURKE LAWN CARE, EXPLAINED OUR SITUATION, AND SAID WE FELT WE NEEDED TO DECLINE THE AERATION AND RESEEDING THIS YEAR.....I COULD NOT BE HOME TO DEAL WITH THE WATERING NEEDED. THEY AGAIN COMPLIED WITH NO PROBLEM. WE HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH THIS COMPANY AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEM TO HANDLE THE CARE OF OUR GRASS. IT JUST LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER NOW. THEIR PRICES DID NOT SEEM OUT OF LINE.
Description of Work: I HAD GOTTEN VERY FRUSTRATED WITH ALL THE CLOVER AND WILD STRAWBERRIES IN MY YARD FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS. UP UNTIL THIS YEAR, I HAD DONE ALL THE LAWN SERVICES BY MYSELF AND NEVER FELT COMFORTABLE APPLYING CHEMICALS FOR WEED CONTROL, GRUB PROBLEMS, FUNGUS, ETC. I SPOKE WITH A COUPLE OF LAWN SERVICE PROVIDERS AND APPRECIATED THE FACT THAT BURKE LAWN CARE SERVICE WANTED TO COME OUT EARLY IN THE SPRING TO ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE PROPERTY AND SEE EXACTLY WHAT MY PROBLEMS WERE. THEY WORKED OUT A PLAN FOR THE TYPE OF WEED CONTROL NEEDED AND ALSO SUGGESTED AN ANTI-FUNGUS APPLICATION WHEN THEY SAW THE BROWN PATCHES IN THE LAWN. THE COMPANY ALSO SUGGESTED AN AERATION AND RESEEDING THIS PAST FALL. WE INITIALLY SAID "YES" TO THE AERATION AND RESEEDING BUT TOLD THEM THAT WE HAD FAMILY COMMITMENTS THIS PAST FALL AND WERE NOT CERTAIN HOW OFTEN WE WOULD BE OUT OF TOWN. THEY SAID NO PROBLEM......WE COULD CHANGE OUR MINDS IF THE SITUATION CHANGED. WE WERE OFFERED TWO METHODS OF PAYMENT: EITHER A LUMP SUM FOR SIX APPLICATIONS , THE AERATION & RESEEDING OR PAYING FOR EACH PROCEDURE WHEN IT WAS DONE. WE OPTED TO PAY FOR THE INDIVIDUAL APPLICATIONS RATHER THEN THE LUMP SUM IN THE BEGINNING. THEY HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THAT APPROACH. I DID ASK THEM TO LET ME KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD COME TO WORK ON THE YARD SO I COULD MAKE SURE THE GRASS HAD BEEN CUT OR THE LEAVES TAKEN CARE OF (IN THE FALL) BEFORE THEY CAME.

+ -1 morestarted using the company in Sept 2013. They come every month to apply the seasonal treatment (fertilizer, weed control, etc). I also had them aerate and seed both the front/back yard in Oct 2013. The company is prompt with their service and always leave me a note so I know what has been done. I usually get a follow up email for my records, too.
Description of Work: After talking with several lawn companies, I decided to go with Burke Lawn Care for both their price for a year long service contract and for the friendliness of the service providers. I am a new home owner and I had many questions about caring for a lawn (or in my case, lots of green weeds). Burke Lawn has come out monthly to provide service with was detailed by month in my contract. From starting last fall until now, my grass is greener and healthier. The service provider are willing to answer questions when they are at your home. I am very pleased with the results so far and would highly recommend them if you want a worry free lawn care provider! + -1 moreBurke Lawn Care does a good job of doing our seasonal lawn treatments and seeding/aeration. Our grass has not had any grubs or issues of growth at all. The workers are efficient. During the initial estimate they were very thorough and knowledgeable about what our lawn would need based on our type of grass, location and landscaping. They tailored a plan for us and offered a cash and military discount if we paid in full. They did a good job so we renewed our contract for another year.
