Tony did a good job. It was good quality work. But I'm giving him 2 stars instead of 5 because his helper, in this case his brother, acted inappropriately and disrespectfully to my mother in her own home. When I told Tony about this, he refused to apologize for his brother. Not good, Tony.

Tony Baldi was extremely knowledgeable, honest, & professional in diagnosing and explaining our circuit failure as well as the need and cost to separate the circuit in the garage from the one in the house. I trust him to give cost-effective estimates for building a 20-amp (120V) vs. 50-amp (240V) circuit. He explained what I could do to lower the cost. I was very grateful to find an honest, expert electrician!

We had a lot of various problems with indoor and outdoor lights after we purchased our home. Too many to mention. Tony and Carlos did a great job getting everything working again - and it took 3 full days, misc new job materials, use of a tracer, etc. Very courteous, and I appreciated that they helped us find the right light bulbs for various fixtures in the home, and drew us a map/plan of the how the outdoor lights are installed.
Description of Work: Troubleshooting landscape lighting problems, replacement of lights and parts, tracing of underground wiring. Indoor lighting troubleshooting included repair of faulty wiring. Replaced a ceiling fan, dimmer switches, etc.

Tony has done a lot of work for me in the last 10 years. Ive referred him to friends and neighbors all of whom have him come back time and again. This time was 2 fluorescents in my garage. I had one single light bulb. He also installed 2 ceiling fans on our porch that we purchased. He responds quickly, arrives promptly works efficiently and bills reasonably.

My first time reaching out to this contractor went as I wish every contact would: promptly returned my call, scheduled w/in few days - to my first available morning, easily diagnosed and solved problem. Work was completed seamlessly and hassle free to me. Took about 1 1/2 hr and was charged very reasonable fee. After removing the hood, it was easy to see why we weren't getting full use of the vent action. The back of the hood did not marry up to the vent. It was jammed up against it not sitting snugly within it. Tony had to work around existing studs to create a fit. After completing that task he checked our electrical connection for safety, reconnected all the electrical aspects of the hood and reinstalled it. He was done before I knew it. Very pleasant to deal with and someone I would definitely recommend and use for any future electrical jobs.
Description of Work: Our over the stove/oven vent hood was not properly installed. Tony readjusted the connections to ensure a properly sealed fit.

Starting in mid-March, the electricity in half of the rooms in my home started going out for brief periods of time -- sometimes a second or two and sometimes a minute or more. It was totally erratic, being totally fine some days. I switched out all the fuses for the affected rooms, but that didn't solve the problem. But on Sunday, March 30 it went off and stayed off, including my furnace, for over two hours on a day when the temperature stayed in the 20s. In desperation, I contacted a couple of electricians, including Tony Baldi. It happened that he was out of town on vacation, but he called me back and after listening to my description of that was happening and asking some follow-up questions, he said it sounded like a "phase out," and that it could be something Dominion Power needed to address. I called Dominion Power and they sent out a technician, but after checking, he insisted the problem was inside the house. Fortunately, the power came back up and I was able to get by until Tony returned to town. He came out, but because the power was on at the time, he was unable to diagnose exactly where the problem was. The intermittent power outages continued, with longer ?out? periods. Because I work downtown, it was difficult to find a time when I was home and able to contact Tony when the power was out. Finally, on April 24 I was able to get Tony out when the power off. After some checking, he was fairly quickly able to determine that the problem was, indeed, outside the house. Tony called Dominion Power and talked to a technician and explained what the problem was. Dominion sent out a technician (different than the one in late March). This tech confirmed that the problem was as Tony described and replaced a faulty connector. It was, as Tony had predicted during our first phone call on March 30, a ?phase out.? (If the first Dominion tech had followed through properly, I would have been spared nearly a month of intermittent power outages and wear and tear on all of my electronics. ) Tony Baldi knows his stuff, and is exceptionally responsive and helpful. I highly recommend him and would not hesitate to use him again.
Description of Work: Tony Baldi correctly diagnosed the cause of intermittent power outages in my home. He worked with me and my work schedule to visit while the power was off, and then explained to Dominion Power where the problem was. He diagnosed what a Dominion Power tech had missed on an earlier visit. Tony is very knowledge, responsive and helpful.

The job wasn't as straightforward as we had planned and Tony had to do extra wiring and go through drywall to complete the job. The amazing thing was he replaced the drywall and prepped the surface for painting. Tony didn't miss a beat and we are more than satisfied with the outcome.

Tony is a one-man operation (with an assistant, Carlos). He does good electrical work. (I previously had him replace wires that had been chewed by a squirrel in my attic.) However, he's very hard to get in touch with because he doesn't answer the phone while he's working on a job so you have to leave a message. His voicemail box seems to get full pretty often, at which point you can't even leave a message. When I called him to get an estimate for recessed lights, he did not respond for several days and when I tried to call him again, his voicemail box was full, so I couldn't even leave a message. I heard back after several more days, by which time I had contacted other electricians. Then, I contacted him again when I needed a new light fixture in place of a chandelier. I arranged for him to come between 1 and 3 pm on a Thursday. When I hadn't seen him by 3 pm or heard anything from him, I called his number and got the full mailbox message again. I finally heard from him at 4 pm, saying that a previous job took longer than he expected. At that point, I told him I would go with a different electrician.
Description of Work: I contacted Tony Baldi about installing a new light fixture in place of a chandelier. I had previously contacted him about installing recessed lights.

this was by far the biggest electrical job I had ever had done. Mr. Baldi was top notch. He was very responsive to all of my needs (especially because I was trying to finish everything in time to move in quickly). His work is great. I have even recommended hiim to some friends and they have loved him as well.
Description of Work: Completely repaired MANY issues with a recent foreclosure purchase. The inspection report was 52 pages long. He took the report and tackled each and every issue (and then some). FANTASTIC WORKMANSHIP and professionalism.

Baldi Electric was great. They were timely and neat. Tony and the technician, Carlos, were very knowledgeable and explained everything to me before they started. They were very professional. I will definately use them again in the future. Tony and Carlos gave us peace of mind.
Description of Work: I hired Baldi Electric to install four ceiling fans, a number of outlets in my basement and some testing and fixes on other outlets. They did a lot of upgrading as well. They installed three over head lights as well. Baldi also did some wiring in my attic and check the attic fan. They basically went through the entire house and check all electrical work.

I am relentless and borderline OCD when it comes to research and am rarely satisfied 100% - either with price or workmanship, but this guy is the real deal. He's a great electrician and a great guy to talk to and work with. I recommend him without hesitation. I first took the top rated ones from Consumer Checkbook and cross-checked them against Angie's List (see, I told you I was OCD). I had to narrow it down as AL had something like 700 electricians listed - c'mon! Anyway, I called 3 of them yesterday at 3:30 pm, Tony Baldi returned my call first about 3 hours later. Being highly rated and a one-man shop (I like that - less overhead and you deal directly with the owner) meant he was super busy (Warning: if you need it today or tomorrow - you might not be able to get him, but he's worth the wait) - I lucked out, he had a cancellation and could come out the next morning. Friendly guy, super knowledgeable - went to work right away and had to struggle to get the broken wire in my ceiling fan socket fixed (the cheap Hampton Bay made in China fan meant when I went to screw in the new bulb, and with the socket that was too loose, as I tried to tighten the socket, I tore a wire, the circuit breaker tripped and wouldn't reset.) As long as he was coming out anyway to fix it, I tacked on the other jobs that were not urgent. When he got the wire fixed, he saw another bulb was out and checked all the sockets and used some kind of waxy lubricant, called Bulb Ease, to make sure I won't pull the socket loose again - then we moved on to a similar fan in my family room and he checked that and gave it the same treatment. All the time he didn't mind my questions and gave me tips along the way. He insisted on vacuuming up the grit from the ceiling fan, even though I told him cleaning people were due in that day. Then he fixed a broken florescent light (the holders on each end were broken - that's all he neede to do - no extra made-up work there) He also quickly raised my light above my kitchen table and was patient with me as I tested the glare on the TV and also swapped out a loose outlet on my porch with a GFSI outlet bringing it to code. By the way, the night before I bought all kinds of supplies, including new ballasts, outlets, bulbs, the florescent light holders, etc. He only used 4 things, but I was prepared for any continency and Tony had no problem with it - I think he was happy he didn't have to search for it in his truck and I was happy that he had no problem not marking up (which he justifiably could have) customer provided material. I got loads done in 2 hours and the price was great. You can't go wrong with this guy.
Description of Work: Repaired ceiling fan light, and checked other bulbs and sockets on second ceiling fan. Repaired florescent light in basement and inspected and put back bulbs in second one in workshop, took out links to raise light above kitchen table, and replaced my outside outlet on my porch - took 2 hours.

On his latest visit, Tony installed three new outdoor lighting systems with motion sensors and three new dimmer switches for use with LED lighting. He also examined and repaired a couple of malfunctioning outlets, and checked out and repaired a basement bathroom fixture on the ceiling. All is work is professional and to the satisfaction of the customer. He is on my speed dial list, and will remain there.
Description of Work: Tony Baldi has been my go-to electrician for over seven years. He has done a lot of work on my home, such as remodeling, installation of outside sensor lighting, replacement of outlets, installation of new main panel, etc. He can do it all and is exceptionally honest, professional, thorough and stands behind his work. His prices are reasonable given his excellent service, i.e. great value with job done right the first time. I highly recommend him, but customers need to understand that he is a one-man + apprentice show, so he may not be available as soon as you would prefer. But he is worth waiting for, if you can!

Tony was recommended to me from my contractor who was remodeling my kitchen and bath. We needed some new pot lights, under cabinet lighting, and switches in the kitchen as well as a new light fixture to be installed in a very high hallway. Tony came out and quoted the project on a Saturday. Tony was easy to work with and communicate with and was able to come out and complete the work when the contractor needed it to be completed in order to keep the project going as scheduled. The work was done in a very professionally manner and looks great. Tony gave good recommendations on products and schematics/wiring ideas for which switches would work which lights. Overall, I highly recommend Baldi Electric and will use them again when/if I have additional electrical needs.
Description of Work: Ran and installed new pot lighting in kitchen, ran and installed new under-cabinet lighting in new cabinets, installed new dishwasher switch, installed new light fixture in hallway.

Tony was great, assessed the situation with our kitchen outlets, was very pleasant and knowledgable, explained changes in electrical code and how it works. Came prepared with the GFI outlet I had discussed on the phone, installed it in short order. Didn't mind coming for a small job, reasonably priced. I felt very confident in the work he did for us and would absolutely use Baldi Electric again. Good experience.

Tony and Carlos are excellent electricians. Their work is top notch. Their rates are very competitive and very reasonable. They don't waste any time in getting the job done. My ceiling fan turned out to be a little challenging since a previous owner had some work done that was hidden by the ceiling pressboard. Tony was very enterprising in coming up with a solution that made sure the work was done within Code, securely fastening the fan to the ceiling, and making sure I did not have to do any repair work on my ceiling pressboard.

I had 3 bids for this job and Baldi Electric was the low bidder by far. This is a small company, so I didn't get same day service, but Tony came up with a schedule and showed up when he said he would. The work was done quickly, efficiently and at the agreed upon price. I highly recommend Baldi Electric and have used them for additional work.
