We used Gordon Frazier Tree Service to have 3 good-sized trees removed from our yard that were either over-hanging our house or our neighbors'. Gordon's crew effectively took them down, cleaned up the site, and ground the stumps out so that we can re-plant in the space. They delivered what they promised and gave us excellent value for the price. I would not hesitate to call them and use them again for additional work. A lower grade was given for punctuality because we had a scheduling complication that set things back a bit. They did good work.

Could not have gone better! We have a deck that had been built around a tree thirty years ago and the tree had out grown the deck. Gordon and his crew arrived as scheduled and immediately proceeded to cut the tree down. The entire crew was very professional and hardworking. At the end of the day if not for the fact that the tree was gone you would not have known anyone had been working here. The tree and every speck of sawdust was gone! I highly recommend Gordon W Frazier Tree Service and will definitely hire them again.

The team did an excellent job. They brought down 2 dead trees, trimmed the dead wood off 5 others, and shaped another tree. They worked hard all day and were professional from start to finish. And they left the place cleaner than they found it! Highly recommend!

Great. They took the time to bring trees down with minimal damage to the lawn and our neighbor, they hauled them off, and also hauled off a pile of limbs by our driveway that had previously dropped from trees in our yard. They charged what they originally quoted. Gordon and his crew were extremely polite and friendly.

Awesome end-to-end experience! After two other tree service arborists inspected trees with me but then failed to actually send estimates, I searched Angie's List and read many of Gordon's reviews. I left him a voicemail on a Friday. He called me Saturday and was willing to visit that weekend. Since I was busy over the weekend, he agreed to call Monday or Tuesday. He called Tuesday at approx. 11am, indicating he was in the area working a job and could be by in 30 minutes. I agreed to meet him. We inspected my four large shade trees (2 sycamore and 2 maples) and I explained we needed better visibility from front porch, unblock view of a corner stop sign, and ensure no growth into siding. He explained his additional recommendation for overall thinning and shaping. He provided an on the spot verbal estimate of $800 and when I asked if he accepted a credit card, he indicated yes, but would charge only $750 if I wrote a check. I had researched average job costs and Gordon's quote was very reasonable. I then asked what his lead time was and he indicated his crew was finishing a job nearby and they could be by in an hour after they ate lunch. He and his crew arrived promptly an hour later, a crew of six total, including Gordon. Gordon rang the doorbell and asked me to review first tree trimming with him before he moved on to remaining three to ensure it met my expectations per our earlier discussion. After finishing, Gordon asked me to walk our property and review pruning for all four trees. His crew was well organized, worked together like clockwork, and Gordon was right there with them working and directing to ensure all trees were pruned to expectations and clean-up was thorough. Our yard looks "larger" now and is very open with the thinning Gordon recommended, as they removed overlapping and dead branches to include providing more ground clearance. They look great and Gordon indicated they shouldn't require pruning again for at least five years. I'll now hire Gordon for annual tree / shrub maintenance (fertilize, insects, disease prevention) and fire the other provider that had provided that service but failed to provide a pruning estimate. I strongly recommend Gordon and his team for any tree related care! Well done!

Gordon showed up right away after requested estimate - professional, did exactly as I asked in disposal of the tree removed (dead oak). Guys actually called to do the service a day earlier than scheduled, called me in advance to make sure it was Ok and didn't disrupt my plans or work schedule one bit! Crew was quick, professional and cleaned up thoroughly from the yard around the tree.

I am so pleased with the work performed by Gordon. We contacted him for an estimate on removing a few trees and trim some others in our yard. He contacted us and personally came over to give us an estimate. He knows his trees. He has done this work for 30 years and it's a family business which we love working with small family businesses. We had an ill apple tree - it was not maintained prior to us purchasing the home 8 years ago. We tried to prune it, figure out what ailed it. A number of arborists (other estimate providers) agreed that it was beyond hope and to remove it. We also removed a smaller apple tree (for pollination). We have mimosas which are the weed of trees. I love them for their blooms (they attract butterflies, bees and hummingbirds), but they are so intrusive. Gordon pointed out that one of the mimosas was possible causing an issue with our home due to their roots. We had him remove 2 mimosas and trim a third one (I wanted to keep one for the blooms & bees). What really impressed me was one of the other trees we wanted removed turned out to be a honey locust which Gordon told us was healthy and we should keep it. We did. His price was very fair and reasonable - included the stump removal as well. He was able to come out the following week and complete the job. He told us he would call us sometime the beginning of the week (we were flexible). Gordon called me the day before and asked if the next day was a good day to do the project. Worked for me. He called me in the morning of our appointment to confirm and gave me an estimated time of arrival. He called before the ETA and said he would be delayed and updated his arrival time. They showed up and had the entire job completed in less than 3 hours! These guys were amazing to watch and constantly going. I was impressed. They completely cleaned up the debris - looked even better than it did before they arrived. I highly recommend Gordon! I was completely satisfied with his work, the communication, his knowledge and his professionalism.

Gordon was extremely professional and his crew did a great job removing a huge tree and a smaller dead tree from my yard. They were careful around my shed, garden and fence and skillfully maneuvered huge limbs into a clear area. Also did a great job cleaning up. I highly recommend them!

We got a free estimate after doing research to find several good tree services. Gordon Frazier was very good at summing up the situation and offered to come very promptly at a fair price. The work was done expertly with good cleanup and we were very satisfied with the results.

Gordon Frazier and his crew were wonderful! They were punctual, courteous, professional and worked very hard! They completed the job faster than estimated with great quality - which is always appreciated! When they were done, they left the area as clean as possible. Because the neighbor's yard was torn up by the stump, Gordon Frazier and his crew had to also make sure that area was clean. They even salvaged some of the turf the stump pulled up and put it back where it came from in the neighbor's yard! The neighbors are also thrilled with the result! We hired Gordon to do tree removal. We also mentioned after the trees were removed we'd like him to lay down some topsoil. The tree removal went fine. They were punctual, professional and did a great job. We had a lot of small trees and underbrush and they were fantastic at clearing it all up. We needed a lot of stumps ground down and they did a good job. The price was great. So after the job was done we contacted them several times about doing the topsoil. They never returned our calls. They just ghosted. We contacted several times before we decided we should just move on. Which is a shame because we liked them and wanted to reward them with more business and referrals.

Gordon came out quickly and gave me an estimate for the work which I thought was fair considering the size of the trees that needed to come down and that they were already leaning at dangerous angles. He came back a few days later with his crew and took the trees down without damaging my fence.

Service was excellent. They took our tree line back perfectly, I expect a lot more light in the spring and summer. Gordon was really easy to work with, easy going, easy to schedule and a good price. Have a good package deal, no haggle. Men who came out were super nice and wanted to do a good job. They walked around the property with me before they started in order to confirm my order. Then they walked around again when they were done to make sure they complete the job to my satisfaction. When I asked them to cut one more high branch back, they said sure, no complaint. They came about a week later than expected but I had told Gordon I was not in a rush. My only suggestion would be to call to say they were going later because I was wondering if they were going to show. But they did show and did a great job. I would highly recommend them.

Gordon Frazier came out and provided an expert examination of the trees and an estimate for the trim work. Within the appointed time frame, Gordon and his assistant showed up promptly and completed the work quickly and thoroughly cleaned up the debris. The trees look graceful, well balanced, and ready for years of beautiful growth. I highly recommend this tree service.

Everything went as expected. The wood from the downed trees were cut into portions and stacked onto a firewood rack.

Work was excellent in all aspects. Tree was removed and stump was ground with no issues. The team cleaned up well afterwards. Gordon and his team were very courteous. Price was very reasonable. Will definitely use them again.

Gordon is now my go-to tree guy. He delivers excellent work at an excellent price. I've called him twice and I've found I can count on him.

We were completely satisfied with Gordon's Tree Service. His estimate was the lowest, he came when he said he would, his crew was efficient, competent and quick, and the tree was taken care of exactly as agreed and for the price agreed.

Great! I watched the whole process.

I’d give them an A+ for the tree removal and trimming, A- for the mulching, and a B for communication. The A- for mulching is because they didn’t contour the edges of our mulch beds, only placed the mulch in the beds. Based on past experience with other companies who’ve installed our mulch, our edges were always manicured. In hindsight, I should have talked with Gordon about this beforehand, but assumed he and his crew would do the same. Not so. For future customers, I would recommend discussing and calibrating expectations of finishing touches with Gordon when reviewing the work to be done. As such, the day after the job was completed, I spent an hour in our yard, contouring our mulch beds for a clean and neat appearance. See pictures attached: before (Gordon’s mulching) and after (my manicuring of mulch edges). Lastly I give them a B for communication: After receiving the estimate, I left a couple of voicemails, saying we’d like to hire him. Gordon returned my call a couple days later, saying he’d like to schedule us a week later. We agreed to confirm via text message two days before the work was scheduled. I texted him two days before, one day before, and I also left a voicemail one day before, to confirm. His reply finally arrived via text message at 6:12am the morning the work was scheduled – this was not appreciated. I get it – landscapers are busy people, especially in the Spring, having to schedule, reschedule, and juggle jobs due to days of rain. However customers are also busy people and need to juggle their busy work schedules to accommodate home installation appointments. At the least, a 24 hour confirmation would be appreciated, hence a B for communication. Overall I would recommend Gordon, although based on the work he did for us, I’d give them an average of A- . That being said, Gordon's a very nice and friendly guy, a hard worker, and seems to give very fair and competitive prices. They also did a great job cleaning up and hauling away all debris.

Contacted Gordon on a Saturday for a free estimate and they came that following Monday to start work. It was raining that morning so was pleasantly surprised they showed up regardless to get work done. Gordon and crew were very courteous, professional and quick at taking down trees; clearing brush/logs when on the ground; grinding up stumps; and leaving the property in as best shape possible considering it had been raining a decent portion of the time. Would hire again and recommend them to anyone in the Culpeper area!

After getting an estimate from Gordon on 03/18/17 he said he would be out either Monday or Tuesday to complete the work. He arrived with his crew on Tuesday Morning and completed it that evening. Tree work was completed as agreed and all the debris was removed and property cleaned up. Gordon and his crew were courteous and professional. He stayed at the work site. I asked if he could leave me some of the Cherry. He said no problem and had his crew cut me approximately 16" logs. At first I thought $2K was a lot but it seemed comparable to other reviews. After seeing all the time and care, not to mention safety to my property, it was a fair price.

Marvy. Both trees removed w/o any issue, no damage to ground/sidewalk/azaleas immediately below trees. Price was very competitive.

Gordon was very professional. He gave me a quick estimate on removing and stump grinding and completed the job in a timely manner. Gordon and crew were fast and effective. I would definitely hire him again!
