They were okay. The guys who actually climbed the trees, they knew what they were doing. The boss was there, he didn't really get it as well as the people who actually did the work so it was much better when the boss left. I think they did a good job. I would use them again but it's just that there are so many other people competing to do this, it's just like you have to turn people away all the time.

There were four men that came out. They were very prompt right on time. They left the area fine. I would tell a friend they do a really good job and they know what they are doing. I was very happy and satisfied.

Never contacted me, if they don't want my business, I don't want them.

Well you would think with this new messaging system that Angie's List put in place for an easy way to communicate with contractors that you would hope to get an immediate response. Apparently that's not the case. Contractors are instructed to contact you within 2-3 business days after receiving a message on here but we never heard back. We even sent them a picture and phone number for them to respond to and heard nothing. Shame

Outstanding job. They went above and beyond the work contracted], meaning they trimmed branches they knew were obstructive but were not discussed as part of the original cost and did not charge extra. Polite, professional crew that did an amazing job of cleaning up the property after the primary work was complete.

I described the work I wanted done in general terms over the phone. They came out and did a site survey including providing some valuable advice and we worked through all the specifics. After some brief back and forth about the contract over the phone, we settled quickly on a fair agreement. They scheduled the work right away and it was completed with no issues. The crew did a great job and cleaned up such that I could not even tell any work had been done. No issues with payment. All of their systems are nicely automated with clear contracts and invoices. Very professional service!

When I emailed Pro Arbor, they contacted me by phone within a few hours and scheduled their arborist, Adam, to come the next business day. Adam arrived a few minutes early, which was wonderful, and looked carefully at each of our three large trees in the front yard. He then explained the issues with each tree and made suggestions for each one for now and for the future. He arranged to do the work two days later. Adam himself showed up with the crew right on time on the service day, and he introduced me to all of the crew members. The guys worked quickly and carefully, and when they were done, they showed me exactly what they'd done to each tree and what we should think about next time they come. When the invoice came, it didn't reflect a discount I'd purchased via Angie's list, but Alice fixed the problem within hours. Their emails, telephone calls, and in-person contacts were among the most professional I've ever encountered with home-services providers. I will definitely be calling them in a few years to trim our trees again. Working with them was simply a terrific experience.

I would have used them, but their original date was pushed back due to mechanical/equipment problems. The competitor was in the neighborhood working for a neighbor. They did a good job and offered a good deal which was almost half the cost of Pro-Arbor. I will continue to use Angie's List for all my contractor business.

They cut down the tree in my front yard and then came back to grind the stump and roots. They were very professional and came back again when I needed them to grind the stump deeper. I would definitely work with them again.

The response for an estimate was nearly immediate, first thing the next morning. I had received what was obviously a high estimate from another firm that was hired to clear out trees adjacent to our property. The examination, interview and agreement on the price took less than 20 minutes. Thanks to ProArbor's connectivity, Adam both recorded my acceptance of the estimate and scheduled the tree service for the next day. Two professionals arrived with all needed safety equipment. They were careful throughout the process, preparation, felling the tree and cleaning up afterwards -- all without damaging or threatening other trees. plants around them. We had a big tree in our back yard that was clearly dying but, with several obstacles to removing it, we were very hesitant. There are power lines, etc., that ran underneath limbs on two sides plus a small pond under branches on a third side. I got three quotes on removing the tree including Pro Arbor. One was from a 'company' that's done other work in the neighborhood but which is really just a couple of guys with equipment.The second was from an actual company, bonded & licensed, and the third was from Pro Arbor. Pro Arbor came in about 5% higher then the other company and the roaming crew was much less. But I went with Pro Arbor based partly on the reviews here on Angies but also based on the visit to do the estimate. The owner of PA came out, spent a lot of time looking everything over and even more explaining what was going on with the tree (and why we weren't going to be saving it). Although not the tallest or biggest tree ever, certainly one with challenges. The crew arrived on time, got set up and started work promptly. They were courteous, friendly but not overly so and more than anything, professional. There wasn't an hour-long coffee break or a two hour lunch: they handled themselve around my home professionally and did the job the same way. They were able to remove the tree without damage to the various wires or to the pond and landscaping around it. I've had other trees removed over the years, again -- some by the random guys with chain saws and a couple by actual tree companies. As I told the crew when they were done: this was the first time I felt like I had hired and paid for tree professionals and received a professional job from start to finish. I would highly recommend Pro Arbor if asked and I'll never go back to using just anyone: this crew was the real deal and I could not have asked for anything more from them!

The guys from Pro Arbor did a great job. This was a challenging removal but they were thorough, careful, and got these two monster trees down safely. We also appreciated the thorough approach of their estimate for the work---it included details on insurance and certifications, giving us a high level of confidence in the firm. Thanks Pro Arbor!

Received communications from them within 24 hours. Appraiser came out approx. 3 days later. I was told they do not perform many jobs in DC area so they would have to wait for about 3 weeks or until they get enough jobs in the area. I was also told it would probably cost somewhere between $550-750. I asked if that included my Angies' list coupon but didn't get a definite answer. I asked for a written estimate to which I was told the office would send one in a day or two. Approximately 4 work days later I called to ask about the estimate. I was told there were extenuating circumstances for which the operator apologized. she also stated she asked the appraiser about the estimate a few days before but she would check again. I never got an email or call back. They might have high marks but I guess my job wasn't important or lucrative enough for them. I have to start my search again. Very disappointed in the time I have wasted with this company.

Because I live far away, I asked for pictures of before and after. Apparently the foreman deleted the pics of the before but they were honest about it. They also provied me with several pics of the after. Overall, the experience went well and I would use them again.

The detailed estimate was sent to our email within 2 hrs and they set up the tree pruning/removal for the next day. The crew arrived on time and worked from 8:30 - 6:00 pm. The team did all the pruning to our specifications and they brought down the very large, dual trunk poplar tree and it was rotten in the trunk and would have failed at some point in the near future. Ferris Crilly identified the problem tree without our knowing we had a potentially hazardous situation on our hands. The tree team that came to the house the day of service, left our yard as clean or cleaner than when they arrived, including removal of all tree debris, shavings and saw dust. Our driveway was left in pristine condition and there was absolutely minimal damage to the lawn, when they brought down this monster tree. We will use Pro Arbor tree Care for any future tree care! We will use Pro Arbor for any future tree needs.

Excellent job! Very professional, courteous and prompt service. Did not attempt to oversell services (e.g., say that we needed to cut more trees than we did). Provided suggestions on things I could do at home to lower these costs over the long run. Wonderful service; would not hesitate to contact them again.

The providers tree crew arrived promptly, and set to bringing down a 120' tree w/out damaging the yard or surrounding wall. They did this w/amazing accuracy and professionalism. They pruned all the other trees and shrubs per our request and when the large poplar tree was on the ground we could see first hand the damage that had already occurred in the tree and was simply waiting for a big wind to topple over this giant. There was no outward evidence that we could see but Ferris Crilly (owner) recognized the problem of dual trunk, poplar tree. Had this tree not come down under his crew's care it would have fallen at some point on either our house or crashed over our road. This tree was rotten down to the bottom of the trunk and we didn't have a clue there was any problem. The rest of the work was completed to our complete satisfaction. The team cleaned up our yard and driveway of all debris including saw dust from the chain saw chopping up the tree trunk. They left our property in as good as, or better condition than they found it before they began their work. Pro Arbor will be our tree professionals for any future needs. They KNOW what to do, and how to do it safely, and with care to protect the surrounding landscaping and property. We rate them at A++.
