JES Foundation Repair

It went well. But with the money we paid for the work. They could have fix the holes they cut on our dry wall when they do the electrical work. We paid 70k for the work. We did have some issues post the work but they did send people out to fix it. Overall was good. But I would reconsider som aspect of the services !!!

Excellent work. Fast response to RFQ, promptly scheduled, on site crew made fast work of it. They jacked up the concrete front step that had settled away from the front porch deck, then adjusted sidewalk panels to meet it and gradually ramp downwards. This work was definitely worth what I paid for it, and I would hire them again anytime I needed foundation or concrete help like this.

After some delay in the start of the project, the project was executed in a most professional and efficient manner. I am highly pleased with the results and would recommend JES without reservations.

The task was performed exactly as they described, and performed perfectly! It leveled the concrete stairs going to my basement with only a hint of what was done to the concrete steps. Our house was built in 1985 with a cinder block foundation. We moved here at the end of 1992. I painted the entire foundation with DryLock around 2002 when I finished about 2/3rds of the space. Around 2010 we began getting white crust on the wall of the unfinished storeroom. The whole house began smelly musty. My wife finally couldn’t take the smell anymore and I got three estimates on resolving the problem. All three had generally the same solution of drilling holes at the bottom of the blocks to drain the water into a gutter or perforated pipe. JES was the only one to offer ZERO percent financing over 24 months to pay for it. Instead of buying a car, we went with them. Glad we did. Their crew were scrupulous about minimizing the disruption and cleaning up afterward. They took up only the vinyl tile closest to the outer walls. I got the price down by doing the advance demolition myself and they hauled away the black bags from my demo work at no extra charge. Crew chief C. Colombe did a great job keeping us updated as the three day job progressed.

Went well. Prompt response. Tech (forget his name, but very knowledgeable and friendly) strongly recommended dehumidifier (which they can assist with) and said no need for exterior excavation and waterproofing of below grade foundation. I need to finish basement renovation and then will likely contact JES again about their dehumidifier products. 5 thumbs up for JES!

Great! They had to come back out twice because the weight of the slab kept sinking but they never gave me a hard time about it and they were able to find a solution.

Swimmingly. I had originally called to have the level of my addition trued up...the adviser recommended replacing my 4 older jack posts with new version, and that even though these Jack Posts were over 10 years old, that the work would be covered under warranty. I have been a JES customer for roughly 15 years (or longer), they have been to my house a number of times, and every time they have performed flawlessly in terms of the quality of work, the professionalism, as well as the cost.

Joe Campbell, the JES engineer who diagnosed the problem, was extremely helpful in telling us what we were facing and what our options were to address the problem. He worked with us to keep costs down. The crew the did the work was specialized and expert in doing this job, easy to work with and happy to explain/consult along the way, and careful with the final cleanup. As always, the JES company provided a lifetime guarantee on the work - if there is any problem with the waterproofing system they installed, they will fix it at no cost.

After an earthquake and a few years of drenching rains, our house had settled out of alignment by almost an inch. JES installed a push pier system in our basement to prevent any further settling. Our 6-month measurement indicates no further settling. Our JES engineer diagnosed our problem and clearly and patiently explained how to prevent further settling with the push pier system. He returned to answer questioned when we needed him. The workers were efficient, hard-working, knowledgeable and careful. After 9 months, measurement shows that after going down 164 feet with the push piers to hit bedrock, our foundation has not budged. JES has given us a lifetime guarantee so if there ever is movement, they will fix it at no cost. This was an expensive process, but JES was a great company to work with.

It was a big project, requiring jackhammering out a portion of the basement floor and putting in a french drain and sump pump. The crew was professional, very hardworking and kept the mess to a minimum. The crew lifting the pavement were very skilled and patient in answering our many questions about the process. Everyone did a great job and we appreciate all their help in solving our flooding problems. We would personally like to thank everyone involved; Demetrius (supervisor), James S. , Freddy, Ahmed F., Edwin B., Vince G. and Sinclair. Howard G. the field inspector promptly returned all of our calls and was very helpful in answering all of our questions.

Horrible experience. I received my first quote in the fall of 2016. A week later someone else came by and revised it to make it much more expensive. Then I disappeared down the rabbit hole and nobody could give me the revised plans or schedule time for the work for months. Plans were then altered at the last minute before work began at the start of 2017 (and conveniently hid a third wall of drainage that was completely unnecessary). Proprietary drains which were part of the selling point suddenly couldn't be used, but the price never changed. Then the work was so shoddy in drilling the drain that the entire basement floor needed to be replaced, work was incomplete, and it took months to complete the outside drain for the sump pump. The concrete subcontractor hired by JES was likewise horrible; they never put anything BEHIND the new retaining wall, so my a/c unit now sits at an angle, well below the top of the wall. In addition, when I got a new door for the basement, I had to spend an extra $1700 for another contractor to re-pour the base so it could be installed. Then, to cap it all off, within two months of the project being "finished," my sewage line backed up into my basement. After spending thousands to get it cleaned/drained, the sewage pipe backed up again the following year. This time, the plumber noted that I had concrete in the pipe leading from my house. I now have to spend thousands more to dig out the old pipe and replace it. NEVER use this company. They charged me $20K, and I've had thousands of additional costs since then.

I just called to get an estimate. The home inspector found a couple things that needed repair on a home we will be closing on within the next 10 days. Marita Harvey answered the phone and immediately after me saying that she said "I can't even talk to you if you don't even own your home." Unbelievably rude. *** is wrong with these people.

Normally I wouldn’t deal with any company lacking an overall A rating, but I took a chance based on a friend’s experience. Huge mistake. I knew I was in trouble when the JES rep arrived and, rather than ask to see the affected area, wanted to know if there was somewhere we could sit and talk. Huh? The guy proceeded to spend three hours—no exaggeration—in my house. During that time he did an “inspection” which led him to determine the entire house was sitting in a pool of water and would be underwater without $23,000 in repairs. And only JES could do the work because everyone else is an untrustworthy cowboy. After a PowerPoint presentation and a strong arm approach that would make a used car dealer blush, I told him he had to go. I even thought I’d have to call the police to remove him. When he finally left, I noticed his card identified him as an “inspector” rather than the engineer he claimed to be. So I Googled him and discovered he’s a motivational speaker by trade who specializes in—wait for it—increasing sales. Just an overall horrible experience and utter waste of time. As for the house, I suspected a window well problem from the start, which JES scoffed at, but an A rated company later confirmed. They spelled out what needed to be done and said a handyman could do it.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS Company JES Waterproofing started in 2016 Paid in full when they said they were finished. It now 2019 and the job is still not right Home has been unlivable for three years

On the initial consultation Michael Burgess took his time, not only with the inspection itself but in educating me about all of the issues and possible solutions. He worked with me to get the most for my money. Mike also stopped by during the construction process to make sure things were being taken care of properly. I felt like he cared about my house as much as I did. Mike made this process much less scary. Jose Rodriguez, the foreman, Francisco and Joseph were here for five days of really hard work. There was a ton of cleanup to be done in my crawl space, the joists needed to be replaced and the house needed to be lifted as the floors were sagging. Jose's team was always on time, communicated with me about what work was being done and when. They were even nice about leaving the area for a while so I could let my dogs out in the yard each day. Overall, I am thoroughly pleased with JES.

We were flooded twice in ten days during July 2018. Through recommendations from others who had similar work done, we contacted JES. Todd Simmons, the field inspector, came out in August to assess the situation. He was very professional and explained what needed to be done to keep the flooding from occurring again. His no nonsense approach was refreshing. The work could not begin until October due to the volume of calls they received throughout the summer and early fall. Our project was done over a four day span beginning October 29th. The supervisor of the project, Demetrius, has been terrific to work with. The foreman of the crew was Joe Lewis. Brian Swain, Cody Crenshaw, Rudy Gonzales and Wesley Smoot did an incredible job of installing a system that has kept us dry throughout the heavy rains since the work was completed. It is a disruptive process, but Joe made sure things were done right and explained what they were doing throughout the job. As with any large project, issues arose that needed attention. Nicole, Jamie and Heather who are in the office, were extremely helpful in responding to concerns that surfaced during the scheduled work. Jamie helped with securing the final inspection and we are very pleased with the quality of work and the crew that installed the system. It is not an inexpensive project, but we feel that it has been well worth it. JES has a reputation of doing quality work and they stand by their installation. We definitely would recommend them for waterproofing needs.
