JD&G Custom Builders

On June 18th 2014 I called JamieFireline at JD&G Custom builders to have a door installed in our office hallway. Jamie provided an estimate and we agreed via email to have him proceed. He picked up a check several days later for $1000 (a little more than half of the quoted price). Jamie said he would have the project completed ?within a week or so.? He also said the actual work would be done in one to two days. Three weeks later I contacted Jamie to find out what was going on since I hadn?t heard anything from him. In fact, I never did hear from him unless I called or emailed him first. He said the door was on back order or delayed but that he could come start the work and then finish it when the door finally came in. I told him I didn't want to piece meal and drag out the job since this is a place of business. He said he would have the door within a few days and that he could knock it out over the weekend. Several more weeks passed and again I contacted Jamie to find out what the deal was. He said the door had shipped and that it would be a few more days. All communication over the past 9 weeks has originated with me reaching out to him. Ironically, an entire building (with many doors and windows) has been constructed in my offices park during the same exact time frame it takes JD&G to order a door. Well, at this point I told him we no longer wanted to proceed with the project since so much time had passed and my trust in him had completely eroded. I asked for a refund of the deposit. He pleaded via email to give him a chance to do the job. I reiterated that I wasn't interested in having him do the work any longer and again asked for the deposit back. That was three weeks ago and he simply will not return our $1000.00. He stole our money.
