It went very smoothly. We were very happy with both the plumber (Bowman's Plumbing) and Hall's.

We sent Hall's an email through Angie's List requesting two estimates on installing green board in a demo'd bathroom and interior painting of common area of house (dining and living room, stairway and loft area). Someone from the company called the next day and set an appointment for the next Monday morning. It is now an hour late and Rick is not here and we haven't received a phone call. We tried to call but no one is answering the phone.

Rick was very nice and an honest person to deal with. Drywall patchwork looks excellent. Had some issues with color matching a wall because of a difference between Sherwin Williams and Behr paint. I would definitely use them in the future for drywall and paint work.

Rick's from Hall's was very response and easy to deal with. His team did an expert job at repairing the holes, and I appreciate the care they took to keep my kitchen appliances, floor, countertops, etc, clean from debris, dust, etc. I would definitely recommend Hall's and would use them again if needed.

My experience dealing with Halls was very good. We live in South Korea and are renting our house in Herndon, VA. Our renter notified us the drywall ceiling in the porch ceiling was sagging and about to fall. I found Halls through Angie's List and requested a quote. It was it this point Rick and I had a miscommunication regarding the scope of the project. I intended for the entire porch ceiling to be replaced, while Rick thought I wanted replacement of only the portion of the ceiling that had already been removed by the renter (about half the ceiling). When they came out to do the work, they only replaced the portion of the ceiling that had already been removed by the renter. I brought this up to Rick, which is when we discovered the miscommunication. I asked him to quote me the difference he would have charged me had he originally priced it (his original quote was $800). After going back out to our house, Rick realized it didn't make sense to only replace half the ceiling, and he quoted me another $100 to finish the job. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I can't say how impressed I am with Rick's integrity and can honestly say it was a pleasure doing business with him. There aren't many contractors around these days that have integrity, but Rick is one of the good guys. I wholeheartedly recommend Halls for any of your drywall or painting needs.

My ceiling was falling in, and I need help fast. I received other estimates that were either too expensive, or provided no follow-up. Hall's Drywall and Painting was very responsive to my hurry-up need, came in at a great price, and they performed a terrific job. I could not have asked for a better ending to what could have been a disaster. Thanks to Rick, his brother, and the rest of the team for a job well done.

They did a wonderful job. They quickly responded to my request for a proposal, and quickly got on the work when we selected them. They made several good suggestions about the job and I feel we got a very good results for our money. They were easy to work with and did a great job cleaning up. Definitely our go-to guys in the future.

He was very prompt. I think he came out the next day. He looked at the work that needed to be done. His service was good. The quote was for $1100. We thought that it was a little bit too high. So we are not using him. His estimate was literally twice as much as the other estimates to do roughly the same amount of work.

Hands down this was the best experience that I have had with a painter during my 26 years as a homeowner. Each person was respectful and did an outstanding job. This is the first contractor that actually did more work than I thought was going to be performed. The workers repaired drywall in and repainted four large rooms. The workers found more imperfections in the drywall than I could notice. Talk about being surprised. Next month, Halls will be finishing the rest of repainting the interior of my house. Repeat business is the highsest reccommendation that I can give someone.

They were very customer-focused and customer satisfaction was very important to them. We received a detailed written estimate to remove 8ft of ceiling all around the bump-out and bedroom from Rick Hall. He was also able to quickly arranged an electrician to come at the same time to add ceiling lights. On the day of the job, his brother Eric and crew arrived but Rick was sick. We were a bit disappointed as we had asked if he would be here to detail the work ensuring all that he had recommended was carried out. He said he would but was really sick. They covered the carpets from the main door to the second level bedroom with plastic sheeting and did a great job totally protecting the stairs. They ended up only removing 4ft of ceiling as Eric said it wasn't necessary. We emailed Rick (always better to document requests, work done, change in scope) to ask for a revised estimate and after some awkward negotiation, he did. They gave us the option to come back to take out the additional 4ft or provide a discount for the additional painting to the walk-in closet, secured exterior soffit which we chose. They would have received A for quality had they not had to come back to re-do part of the ceiling. The seam where the new drywall met the old one was visible after they completed the job (& cleared out) the first time. Initially we thought it was the paint but the painters (a different crew) said another coat of paint would not fix it. They ended up putting on another layer of mud, paint and that fixed it. This second crew did lay down plastic sheeting too but it did not fully cover the stairs, living area to the extent the first team did. Also we twice asked they not use the master bath but they did anyway, leaving a bit of a mess with mud residue, even after their clean-up. This 2-man crew worked on their own and their job was not supervised nor inspected by either Rick nor Eric.

Rick and his team performed outstandingly! Rick provided a written estimate and included his license and insurance information as requested. He is one of the few contractors that has comprehensive insurance coverage, like workman's compensation. We scheduled a date and time that was within one week of the estimate. Rick and his brother showed up the first day and performed the dry wall repair. They covered up my furniture and valuables to protect it from drywall dust and prevent any damage. Joel and Shello (sp?) showed up the second through fifth days and performed the interior painting. They take pride in their work and did a beautiful job. Any questions I had were answered and any requests I had were addressed. Rick kept in touch during the project and came out to inspect things during the course of the work to ensure all was going according to plan. I actually added the guest bathroom and laundry room midway through the project and Rick provided an estimate in a timely manner. Overall the team was professional, easy to work with, had a strong work ethic and did a beautiful job!

This is the second time we used Hall's Drywall and Painting and we are very happy that we went with them. I also got another two estimates to price compare and the other estimates were approximately 30% more . The estimate was for our great room, foyer and upstairs hallway (approx. 900 sq ft). We needed drywall repair and painting for the entire area. After they started the work they realized there was more drywall repair than they originally estimated. They did all the extra work and still stuck to the original estimate. I really respect a company that not only keeps their word but makes sure the job is done right even if it requires more work than planned. I highly recommend them based on price, quality of work and completing in a timely manner.

Hall's Drywall definitely went the extra mile for this job. I met with Rick to discuss the job and get a quote, he is one of the owners of the company. Since i was doing all the prep work myself he talked me through the process and told me everything that I need to do to have the room ready for drywall, witch was very helpful. He even gave me a quote the same day. I had about 4 companies come by to give a quote and they came in the lowest and also seemed the most competent. They were able to literally start the project 3 days later, and that was great for me because i needed the job completed as quickly as possible. The showed up on time with a 5 person crew that was very fast, clean and courteous. They could not fit the sheets of drywall down the stairs to the basement so they came up with a quick solution to cut down each sheet. This created extra work for them, but was not a problem. They finished most of the job in one day. They came back a few days later to sand everything and were done in 4 hours. They also offered to come back after I painted, just in case there were any touch ups, but turned out not to be necessary. They also removed all their trash and cleaned up very well after they left. Overall i was very satisfied with Hall's Drywall.

Rick and Eric both own the company and they called me back right away to understand the type of work I needed done. Rick came out to my house to see the area that needed repair and gave me a very reasonable estimate. He also gave me a discount since I am an Angie's list customer. Eric came out to perform the work a few days later and was also very professional and friendly. They did such a great job that we asked them for an estimate for additional work. They came back the next day to complete the additional work which we are also very pleased with. I highly recommend this company because of the great price and superior quality of work.

What a great experience! They were on time want to work and did a great job. The guy was very pleasent and professional. I know who I'm going to call when it's time to paint.

Halls Drywall came out and provided a professional typed proposal to "swirl our ceilings." Our original drywall job was not perfect. It actually was awful. So we thought we would have the ceilings textured to hide the imperfections, Instead of typical texturing we had them do a swirl pattern that looks awesome. They kept the house as clean as it could be..Drywall is messy stuff but they did cover the floors and the furniture. I would not hesitate to recommend Halls Drywall and Painting.

The men showed up promptly. They took their time and did things right. They were very neat - they got no paint on anything they were not supposed to. They cleaned up.
