Joshua Swift and his crew are a pleasure to work with. They are real professionals with the expertise, experience and equipment to do a job right. We recently purchased a 1928 bungalow in South Roanoke. It is a wonderful house, but the back yard had not been attended to for years. A row of Hemlocks lined the back of the lot and, combined with an overgrown Ash on one side, blocked almost all sunlight from the yard. It was dark and bare. The first task was to bring light into the yard. I met with Josh on Friday for an estimate. He was very thorough in his survey of the situation and quoted what I thought was a fair price, $2400, for major pruning of the Ash tree, installing a brace in the tree (which has a divided trunk and is susceptible to splitting), removing a Dogwood, pruning another Dogwood and removing almost twenty Hemlock trees. His crew came on Tuesday and all of the work was done (including removing and reattaching a telephone line, chipping all of the trunks and branches and cleaning up of all of the debris) by the end of the day. I could not recommend them more highly. They are terrific.

They had estimated it would take 6 weeks to get to this job - but then were able to fit it in a week after the estimate. This was tough for me. We were attracted to this house in 1979 because of the glorious large Pink dogwood out front. It has been a staple in my yard for over 35 years. The job was done professionally and Adam understood it was also hard for me. He very willingly obliged request to cut stump section to save and also a branch my son wanted to cut to make coasters for family members. Did super job cleaning up, blowing away saw dust. Stump was ground well below ground level with resulting extra mulch spread around. When you want a job done well - call these guys!!!

I would go back to them for any tree service. They did an excellent job. Safe and fast. Did everything I wanted. Entire crew was just fantastic. Professional service all around.

From the first phone call to Joshua to the moment we shook hands at the end of the job, Extreme Tree Company did an excellent job all around. We moved into our current house about a year ago and getting some trees removed that were threatening the structure was on our list of must-dos. We found Extreme Tree Co. on Angie's list and gave them a call. Joshua came out and gave us an estimate and even took the time to help identify a tree that we were curious about but wasn't on our list to remove. We scheduled a time for he and his crew to come out and perform the work but as the date moved closer, we had to work around the weather a bit. Joshua gave us plenty of notice that we needed to move the date to a more suitable weather window, staying in communication the whole time to coordinate a new date. On the workday, the crew was on time and throughout the job, very methodically made each cut using ropes and pulleys to safely dismantle the trees, especially the ones growing over our house. They cleaned up the yard, raking up all debris and sawdust from the day's work. I can honestly recommend Extreme Tree Company as a top notch provider of tree services big and small. We will definitely use them in the future for our tree related needs. Thanks Joshua and crew!

The guys from Extreme Tree Company cut down two large Popular Trees from our back yard. We were really pleased with this company. They were on time, professional and cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend this company to anyone who needed tree work done. Beautifully! If you're looking to have tree work done at least get an extimate from Extreme Tree Service. They are as skilled and professional as any big-name tree company in the area and their prices are very fair. Every phase of their service is near flawless from tree cutting to cleaning up after the trees are down. Communcations are excellent and when they make a commitment you can count on them following through. They are also very considerate and do their best to have as little impact on your day-to-day comings and goings as possible. This was a high-risk job as the trees were close to my house as well as a neighbors, but the tree removal went methodical, safely and flawless.You'll find Joshua to be very knowledgeable and professional and eager to please. As he says, they love happy customers. By the way, my next door neighbor has asked them to come back next week and remove three of their trees!

. Joshua spent over an hour on the first visit mapping in detail how trimming and stabilizing trees would be accomplished. Service was scheduled after 1 January, 2015 and was completed on 7 January , 2015. Employees climbed the trees and removed branches that had died. Several live branches were cabled to prevent contact with the roof. Cut material was cleaned up, ground, and hauled away. Site was left pristine. All the employees were courteous, mindful of two small children sleeping in the house, and of vehicle movement. It was obvious that everyone enjoyed their work. Price, service, and interactions with the company completely met expectations. I would (and have) recommended Extreme Tree Company without reservations.

Josh came to my home to provide an estimate and I had a pleasant experience with him, he also explained hedge upkeep as I'd never had one before but it came with my home. He also was very willing to provide evidence of insurance and worker's comp, which had been suggested to me to do before agreeing to have such work done. I appreciated that he had a very positive attitude about it, as I have had negative comments made in the past by contractors for other type of work when I did inquire. His crew came when scheduled and were very nice and agreeable. They also took out some shrubs which needed to go (thank you!). I had a very positive experience from beginning to end. Will use them again for tree service and was pleased to know they do hedge upkeep as well.

Jim came by, saw the scope of the job. I asked him to give me an assessment of the other trees on my property. He listed approximately $1,000 0f work required, which I declined (for the time being). When he left he promised to be in touch to schedule the limb removal. I then didn't hear from him for more than a month. I contacted him and he took care of the problems promptly. At a cost of $199. I might use them again, but if I do I won't pay up front and won't sign an agreement with out a performance clause.

The work was performed in a very professional manner. I just wanted a "quick and dirty" job but this outfit will not do the work that way. They were courteous and knowledgeable. It was interesting and educational to watch them do the work. I would use them again.

I received a free estimate for work to be done by one of the very knowledgeable and friendly experts from Extreme Tree Company. On the day of service, two young men arrived promptly and after introducing themselves, began trimming a large ash tree in our backyard. They worked quickly and efficiently and actually seemed to enjoy their work! After finishing with the ash they trimmed a smaller tree that had several dead branches and discussed ways I might improve the health of the tree. They were very polite and knowledgeable. After finishing with the trees, they cleaned up all of the debris and even removed a stump and some other clippings, which wasn't part of the job. Because of a slight delay due to bad weather conditions, we also received a free soil treatment for the ash tree. My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with their work and will definitely use them in the future! They did an outstanding job and I highly recommend them!!

This was a great experience, starting with the process of getting a free estimate. Jim, an incredibly knowledgeable fellow, gave me much-needed information about each of four large maple trees. He told me their ages, correct common names and pointed out features, such as spots where the trees had been pruned in the past. He also assessed the general health of each tree. A couple of days after the estimate visit, Jim sent me a quote and we set a general date for the work. As it happened, he was able to send a crew sooner than expected, and the new date worked for me. Four very capable, knowledgeable men came, on time, to do the tree work. They were courteous, and they took great pains to avoid damaging the plantings at the base of several of the trees. They were a pleasure to watch as they climbed the trees, and they seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. When all of the tree trimming was complete, they cleaned up so well that my yard looks better than it did before they began their work. My trees look great. I was concerned that my trees would look like they had received a severe pruning. That did not happen. As I said, the trees look great. I believe that my trees will be healthier, and I know that errant limbs are no longer damaging my house. I will definitely turn to Extreme Trees for any tree work that I need in the future.

Extreme Tree did a tremendous job. They removed a pine tree that was next to my house and ground the stump. Very thorough job. It's like the tree was never there.

They showed up on time and with the necessary equipment. Performed the work, cleaned the site, and reseeded the two locations. Very professional and friendly. Would easily recommend.

WOW.. They say you get what you pay for but rarely do you get more than you pay for. These guys are unbelievable! I couldn't believe how they got up in these extremely tall tress and thinned them and removed old dead branches to allow more sunlight in my backyard. I have structures and a fence and they didn't even come close to hitting anything. They cut down a bunch of old spindly trees ...even more than I thought we ha d agreed on.. Which was a great thing and a couple of fairly large trees.They then brought in rich topsoil and aerated the yard making sure to prepare the soil all around the fence line by hand where their machine would not go. Spread the seed and put straw down and set up sprinklers with timers and temporary fencing to keep my dogs out. They did a magnificent job of cleaning up all debris and leaving us quite a nice stack of firewood. The young men were safety first which I appreciated since their job is so dangerous. They were also so professional and nice. They did many more things that went beyond the scope of their job just because they thought it would look nice. I really can't say enough good things so I'll stop gushing...
