These guys are true professionals and know exactly what they are doing! They had to match our existing hardwoods in an adjacent room, and did so with no problem. They worked quickly, efficiently and courteously. Highly recommend and would use again.

Very well, there was a slight issue the Mr. Hicks owned up to and he corrected it immediately. Mr. Hicks is by far a most professional contractor.

Mr Hicks came by to see the job. The bedroom had a rug over the floor and the floor had dark black areas on it. We had recently moved into this home and wanted to have all hardwood floors. He mentioned that he has a minimum fee of $450, which seemed reasonable to me. The date of the service, Mr. HIcks and 2 other men arrived on time and went right to work. They were very professional and kept the dust to a minimum - almost none at all. Then before they left, they vacuumed the hall next to the bedroom and any other area where they walked. That was a nice touch. They returned over the next 2 days to complete the refinishing.

Mr. Hicks promptly on the day scheduled months earlier, moved heavy furniture out of the rooms, and replaced all the furniture when the job was completed. He had scheduled 4 days for the work and refinishing, but was able to finish in 3. The floors looked absolutely beautiful, and the new moulding was perfectly mitered. Considering the extreme amount of sanding required, the rooms were essentially free of dust when we returned. Mr. Hicks did a fabulous job, and I highly recommend him.

Robert came out and gave me an estimate over two years ago when I was just starting the renovation. When I was ready to have the floors done, I contacted him to have him come back out to provide another quote. To my surprise, he honored the original quote. Again to my surprise he was able to start sanding the very next day. He sanded all the floors and we discussed whether I should have him stain it prior to poly coating. He had some stains available, and put some sample patches on the floor for me to see. I selected one of the stains which he used. over the stain he put three coats of polyeurethane. the entire job took about 6 days. Honestly, given the amount of sanding that was required due to age and condition of the floor, I thought there would be much more dust than there was, but it really wasn't that bad. The Floors turned out BEAUTIFULLY! I was amazed at the difference it made. They did a great job, started right away and took less than a week to finish. robert provided for me one of if not the best contractor experiences throughout my renovation project.

Robert Hicks came in to repair the damage that had been done when we foolishly hired Wood I Do Flooring in Lynchburg, VA to install and stain hardwood floors and ceramic tile in our house (check out my review of them...do not EVER hire them to do any work for you unless you like to throw money away and have your house trashed in the process). Robert did an excellent job repairing the damage that had been done and finishing the installation that had been left undone. His quality and craftsmanship are excellent. He is a little on the pricey side, but after going cheap (regrettably so) the first time, the results were totally worth it.

I needed to have the carpeting replaced in our two back bedrooms. They were the only rooms that had no hardwood so I decided to have flooring installed. Also needed to have the hallway and kitchen refinished due to the ravages of a dog and application of the wrong products. I checked around our area for recommendations. Robert Hicks came highly recommended for quality work and reasonable prices. He was very responsive. He came out, measured, told me what he would do and approximately how long the project would take. I asked for separate estimates for the bedroom replacement and the refinishing of the hw and kitchen. He contacted me later that day with his estimate. His estimate was so reasonable I decided to have both projects done. Work started on 12 April and was completed on 22 April. 12-14 April involved carpet removal and plank installation. That went very smoothly. They kept everything clean and neat throughout the process. They returned 19 April to finish the new floors, remove the old shoe molding from and refinish the 44 foot hallway and kitchen floors. There was very little dust and debris during the process. Robert and his employee Richard were efficient, neat and the finished result is just what I wanted. The new and newly finished floors match the other hardwood perfectly. The project was completed on 22 April and I moved everything back into the finished rooms on the 24th. I cannot stop smiling at the result!
