Craig Sundecks & Porches

The work is beautiful and the people who did the work were polite. The issue is with project management. I was never given a schedule for anything until I asked for it. We ran into every scheduling issue or training issue with the county that you could run into. It has been 3 months and the screened in porch and deck is not complete. I asked the project manager for a safe date for when I could have furniture ordered after they already overshot their estimate. I am now seeing that furniture get shipped back to the warehouse because the floors are still curing I was never offered any other guidance. They will build you the porch of your dreams but there is seriously lacking in giving the customer a context of the overall project. I was always having to be the one to reach out to get answers or figure out when something was going to happen.

Non responsive. Called and spoke to a woman on Thursday, 10/4, at 4:00pm. She said the owner was out of town and she would pass along the message for him to call back on Monday, 10/8. After not hearing back from anyone, I called again and left a voice message on Wednesday, 10/10. Today is Tuesday, 10/16, and I have yet to get a call from anyone. Will take my business elsewhere.

We absolutely LOVE our new four seasons room! Craig Sundecks created for us a lovely relaxing retreat that allows us to enjoy the sights and sounds of God's creation year-round (and bug-free!). Everyone who sees it says it's the nicest sunroom they've ever seen, and wants to know who did it. Top quality. Attention to detail. First class finished product. Super easy windows to close over the screens and keep rain and pollen out. We will add a ventless gas fireplace in the fall which will give us 365 day a year use. Highly recommend!

Jim was the best contractor I’ve ever worked with. The design phase was a breeze. They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. On time. On budget. Can’t recommend them enough.

Pretty well. Efficient and good quality work. Has held up pretty well over the years, but needs some tuneups. Overall happy with the work.

Top-notch craftsmanship on an 18 x 18 sunroom with EZ Breeze windows and a tongue-in-groove mahogany floor. We now have a room usable nine months of the year. Tore down most of the existing mahogany deck and suggested we use the boards as skirting for the new room. Why waste expensive mahogany? Looks great. The windows are amazing: half the price of glass windows, will withstand high winds. The top three panels collapse on the lower fourth panel to give great ventilation. Room as six interior outlets, five dimmable bronze cone lights in the rafters, a 4 x 4 skylight, and a drop for cable. Took longer than expected because of the summer rains in NoVa and the fact that they could not order the custom EZ Breeze windows until the framing was in t ensure an exact fit. We received four estimates. Jim and Jeff Craig were not the cheapest, but no one puts together a better plan, incorporates your thoughts into the process, gives solid advice, and leaves you with a sense that it will be done right. It was.

Amazing! We are so happy with the work Craig Sundecks & Porches completed for us. Our new porch is beautiful and we are enjoying it very much. Thank you to Jim, Jeff and the rest of the Craig Sundecks crew.

Well. However, we had one issue where I felt that they did not listen to our desires regarding the steps, and looking at it still bugs me 13 years later.

They are excellent and the deck is gorgeous. They paid attention to little details. All the carpenters were phenomenal, but the head carpenter who ensured that like everything got done right, he was phenomenal. I would use them again.

Amazing. Best group to work with, couldn't ask for better workers, better management! Highly Recommend! Price was a bit higher because we wanted all the bells and whistles including the windows -- well worth it. We now have a porch that will take us through 3 seasons, and yet in winter, during storms, and pollen season the windows go up and no messy cleanup (like my neighbors are always struggling with)!!

The porch turned out great. It was a wonderful project and Jim and Jeff did a great job. from beginning to end Jim was very professional and helped us through the process. We chose the easy breezy windows which are self storing windows that can be raised and lowered as the weather is needed. The job was off the ground about 20 feet and needed a lot of extra support and foundation work. We were very happy with the end result. The porch looks great. The quality is great. And we been using it now for two weeks and love it.

The workmen were on time, courteous and always cleaned up. ?The project was finished in a timely manner and I was given great references for additional projects that were beyond their scope of work, i.e.: adding a gas line for the fire place and landscaping. ?I would recommend them over and over again and I have. I particularly liked the way Jim Craig took my ideas and brought them to life. ?He was very knowledgeable about what would and would not work. ?He also had many ideas I had not even thought of that made sense for the project I was doing.

It was fine. They did a beautiful job and we referred them to other people. My husband really took care of it.

I love it. It has Tongue n Grove flooring. It has like a gazebo at the end, if you will. I figured it about 15x20. We have a fan in the center of it. Its just really nice. It has like a star burst or whatever on it. He also did an adjacent deck that was really nice. I like the quality of his work and his dedication to giving you a good product. He's really good. He tends to be a little bit on the expensive side. I think its one of those things where you get what you pay for. He did what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it. He was very professional.

Beautiful. Beautifully, we love it. The materials they chose were beautiful, the mahogany flooring on the porch. And they used trex on the other half, and around the sides and rails.

They did a great job. At that time their quality of work was great. The only issue I had was, I was a little unhappy with a design that I felt like they could have changed at the end. But overall, their quality of work was excellent.

The services from Craig Sundecks & Porches turned out excellent. There were probably 2 or 3 plus an electrician for the crew that came out. It looked good when they got finished. We did have a little bit of a problem with them attaching a hose to the tap and causing the ice to cause to break but he paid for the repair. The crew didn't remove the house and they shut it. Overall I was pleased. Overall I would rate them excellent. I would recommend him and I would hire him again.

I went with the neighbour who had the same contractor to do the work. The owner is Jim Craig. They did a great job. It took them about 45 days to finish the work. I got the contract. They followed the contract. They let me know if there were any issues. They told me when the inspectors were coming. I am very pleased. The workers were very nice and professional. I would use them again.

The crew headed by Ramiro were excellent, hard workers. They were on the job by 0800 every day and worked til 7 or 9 pm. It took them 4-5 day s to complete. I was concerned about the grass in the back yard and whether the pile of old deck material would cause irreparable damage as we had the long hot Memorial Day weekend during the construction. Ramiro came over by himself and moved the entire pile to an unlandscaped side yard. I was completely impressed? Ramiro is really committed to turning out a superior project. He stopped by as some point when the deck was done, noticed that there were some deck boards missing some nails (I did not notice) and sent the crew back over the next day to add the nails. Jim Craig was a pleasure to work with. He was very patient though several design changes. It is possible to find a company with a cheaper price, but the workmanship from Craig is impressive and probably worth the extra $.

The quote was way too much. I did not like his price. He showed up when the appointment time was.

They worked with us to design the deck & patio. He dedicated people to the job & they came everyday from start to finish. They were prompt & completed the job very well. He also followed up & completed any items we requested.

Great!! The president/owner, Jim Craig, visited in person to discuss the project and show us pictures of previous projects. We discussed several different options, sizes and configurations, and he was able to design it to fit our house, lot and needs. He drew up a detailed proposal and estimate on the spot. Jim has an engineering degree and over 20 years of experience so he clearly knows what he is doing. The details of the porch really make the difference. We are so, so pleased with how it turned out and receive many complements. For example-the 6x6 posts underneath the deck have their edges routed/rounded and were stained, just like the top portion of the deck and porch. The crews that performed the work were very professional and very nice people. I had 2 neighbors that are home during the day comment on how hard they worked. We could not be happier with the whole experience and how the porch turned out. If we ever move I will definitely call Jim to build us anther porch!
