I can't say enough good things about Rodney. I requested a quote through the company website, with photos and got a reply later the same day with the tiered quote I requested. I responded to that email and every communication after that was prompt, clear, courteous, and professional. We scheduled the site visit and Rodney was on time, easy to negotiate with, and didn't try to pressure upsell on anything. On the day of the job, they were on time, efficient and professional. Their work was high quality and they were conscientious and detail-oriented at every step. I would absolutely hire them again for this kind of project.

There was a very quick response after my first call to the company. John Simmons came to the house and looked at my existing deck and porch. He listened to what I wanted and helped with several decisions. Again very promptly I received an estimate for the work. He informed me it would be about a month before work would begin. Work began on schedule. After that progress slowed and it took longer than I expected to complete. All subcontracted workers were great. Everyone on the project was neat, polite and efficient. The quality is outstanding. My porch is beautiful and I am very happy with it.

Rodney built a beautiful 2-storey garage for us -- the upper level has long banks of dormered windows on the south and north sides and would be suitable as living space if we decide to insulate it; it is just gorgeous -- turned out even better than we had hoped! We had some grade issues, and Rodney spent a good piece of time working out with us where the structure should go considering the drop in grade, runoff issues,etc.. The crew were all craftsmen, punctual, tidy and just nice to have around. We would rehire them again in a minute.

In early June, contacted Southern Porch to have them provide an estimate to replace existing deck. We scheduled an appointment but the representative did not show at the time and date agreed upon and we were not notified. He did show up the next day unannounced. We did not receive the estimate until July 23. We responded in early August, acknowledging that that we had requested a larger project ($15,800) than we were prepared to fund and asked for options that would scale back the project to a more affordable level (about $10,000). We sent another request on August 12 because we thought that maybe our first request was lost. Since that time, we have not received any communication from their representative or the company. We'll need to look elsewhere.

All work went as agreed to in advance. Started on schedule, and completed the work very fast, and ahead of schedule. All work appeared tobe first quality, and as specified to prior to beginning work. All work was inspected and approved by the buildint inspector of city ot Lynchburg. Site was cleaned up as work was ongong and when completed, the work was a turnkey job. All subcontractors for electric and staining seemed to work efficiently and professionaly. Payment was maid in 3rds, as the work was completed. I consider that Rodney Seay, the owner of Southern Porch Co. was very professional, was on the job as he said he would be and oversaw the completion of a very nice project, in a timely manner and for a fair price. I would definitely consider sonsulting with him for any future projects.

From start to finish Rodney was prompt curtious and professional. They did an outstanding job of matching the exterior to the existing house and the job pretty much ran exactly as he said it would. I was a little concerned when the ceiling fan was installed without the extender rod since it was one of the last things completed for final payment, but Rodney came back the next day with the electrican and installed the extender rod. What a refreshing experience.

When Rodney came to estimate the job he was very professional and wanted to know exactly what my wife and I want. After I recieved his estimate I wanted to make some changes and he did so with out any complaints. I made changes a few times before we settled on a final design and price, but he was easy to work with the entire time. He began construction on the deck when he said he would and finished in a very timely manner. I appreciate the work and professionalism of Rodney and his enitre crew and would not hesitate to refer Southen Porch Company to a friend or family member.

It's the second time that we had them do stuff. They did stuff at our old house two years ago as well. They're probably the best workers I've ever had in my home. They were efficient, friendly, fast and everything is done beautifully. They're great. They are a little bit expensive but it's worth any penny because you'll never have to do anything again.

The entire project took about 3 weeks, exactly as we were told it would. The old deck was removed and hauled away. The construction of the new deck and porch began the next day. We enjoyed watching the daily progress. I requested a couple of changes during the construction and they were easily accommodated. Everything moved along smoothly and quickly.

Very pleasant experience. The guys showed up every day until the job was complete. They worked hard and easily answered any questions we had. The workmanship was amazing and the results were exactly as we hoped. Our porch looks like a million bucks! If you need a professional construction company for a professional looking porch, this is the company you need.
