THOROCLEAN CARPET SVC

I have a carpeted basement apartment which used to flood in heavy downpours. I tried many companies for water removal but Thoroclean was the best. I used them multiple times and was always happy with service and price. But, they must have changed owners, managers, or staff. I had solved the flooding problem and didn't have a flood for ten years -- until last week. I contacted Thoroclean on Thursday afternoon and they said they would send a crew to my home at 9:00 Friday morning. At 9:30 they phoned to say that their crew had been in an accident, was being taken to the hospital, and they would call me back later. Now, with wet carpets, time is of the essence to keep them from being damaged. When I hadn't heard from them by 3:30, I phoned. The lady said that she didn't know what they were going to do, but they would call me back after the manager had decided what to do. They didn't call back on Friday. I called again on Saturday, both to their office and to the cel. phone number I had. They didn't answer either phone. I left a message, and asked them to call back. They didn't. It's now Tuesday -- three days later -- and they have never returned my call nor said how they will handle my carpets. I understand that it's very unsettling when a work crew goes down like this, but they could have (1) called back; (2) arranged another time to perform the work; or (3) said they wouldn't be able to do the work and suggested someone else. That's not asking much of someone who has already committed to work on your house.

Originally asked for carpet, tile and wood floor cleaning and was told telephonicaly that they could not do work on the type of wood floor I had. Service providers showed up on time and went straight to work. The cleaning of the kitchen tile was fantastic - would have this done again. Do NOT bother with the sealer - it did not dry quickly as we were told it would; the next day it was still tacky, shoe prints, dog prints which I had to hand buff out - service cost way too much to still require follow-up. I notified the company via their survey and have heard nothing back from them. The quality of the carpet cleaning was good. Service personnel were very friendly, they were punctual but the quality of the sealer they used was not good. Overall carpet cleaning was good.

When I called Thoroclean the young lady who answered asked about my needs and I was able to give her a rough estimate as to the square footage of each area that needed cleaning. As she calculated she kept telling me that I was still below their minimum charge of $150.00 as far as square footage and asked if there were some more carpet they could do. I was able to add on some other areas to get the full value. On appointment day the Cleaning Tech. called about 45 minutes before the start of the appointment window (1 - 3) to confirm that it was still a go and that he would arrive a little early if it was OK with me...which it was. He did a great job! He even found some additional carpet that he cleaned since I was still under the minimum and trying to help me get my moneys worth. The following day I received something I wasn't expecting.......a satisfaction followup call from the company. I almost never get a satisfaction followup call. The folks at Thoroclean are professional, courteous and friendly. I highly recommend Thoroclean for your carpet cleaning needs.

I had pet stains on the carpets. So, I paid about $300 on the job. I liked them. I have used them before. I thought they came out promptly. The work was done well. Their price was average. They were very honest. I would use them again.

He arrived on time, cleaned all of the requested areas and a closet. Dean was very polite and left the carpets so we could walk on them almost immediately. There was no residula water in the carpet so that it felt wet tot he touch a couple of hours afterward.

I have used this company regularly over the last ten years and have been very happy with their service. They have kept my carpet in good condition. They respond quickly and work hard to accomplish the task. In addition to carpet cleaning they have also replaced carpet in the basement and repaired water damage from a broken sump pump. Of course I would hire them again.

Terrific job, very thorough, used truck-mounted steam cleaning equipment. Got out several stains that have been there for awhile.

This job began on schedule with a crew of two friendly and efficient men. They were done in about 90 minutes. The result was an entire house--about to be put up for sale and showings--where the carpets literally appeared to be brand new and just installed. Not a single spot was left, which impressed me because I thought there were some paint spatters from the previous owner that I thought would never come up. The carpets were a little damp for the rest of the day, as is normal, but when they dried out they even felt good to walk on barefooted. In all, I was left wondering why I hadn't done this much sooner. Their price is fair, and the results are first class.

As a lot of homes suffered from flooding after this rain, it was difficult to find a company that could come to take care of the problem. Finally, this company was able to fit us in the schedule. The workers were on time and did an excellent job. We felt that we were overcharged (based on an error in room dimensions), and the company refunded about $200 to us.

Used company once last year, also same workers came both times; arrived early! Courteous owner, Arlene, was very helpful with information on cleaning.
