We live in a mostly rural area so it can be sometimes challenging driving and locating homes and addresses accurately. His services were all done professionally, on time, easy and no issues with any of the movers involved. All furniture was delivered safely with no damage. Dave himself is easy to work with and asks all the right questions to make sure everything is covered and that you are happy with the service. Our moving jobs were often complicated with several stops and pickups before the job was completed. Would recommend Dave the Mover.

The crews were always on time and very courteous and professional. Not one thing was broken or dropped. Pricing was very reasonable for all the moving that had to be done.

Absolutely stellar performance. This company is very good at assessing what you have to move and what it will take to do it. They arrived on time at the storage unit with the agreed upon staff and equipment. The staff worked diligently and carefully packing the truck, taking time to wrap items to prevent damage. They were organized, efficient and worked very well as a team. When they arrived at the house the unpacking was performed in the same way -- they took great care to find out where you wanted each item placed, they put together Lazy Boy furniture, assembled beds even giving me time to put on the bedskirts as they worked. We had some very heavy tools and machinery and they safely moved all of these heavy and unwieldy items from the truck into our garage. Nothing was broken or damaged because of the care they took. They were also careful not to scape the walls as they moved items in. They were careful not to track in mud and dirt, were polite and helpful and made suggestions when we were unsure of how we wanted something handled. The business is completely honest in their dealings and did the job in a way to keep the cost at a minimum for us. We were so relieved to have this great company perform this job for us. A few month's before this move we had another moving company with the word "Dave" in their name move our belongings from the old house into the storage unit --- and it was a nightmare. They broke things, had no lead worker and so were terribly unorganized, they picked up a dresser and tipped it forward to carry it and all of the drawers fell out, some workers disappeared and were found around the side of the house or in the truck using cell phones and texting instead of working. DAVE THE MOVER was the polar opposite of this other company. If you have a move to make our advice is to use Dave the Mover and we can guarantee you will have a pleasant move. We just can't say enough about how great they were.

Dave was very responsive and personable when I contacted him for a bid for moving services. When I spoke to him on the phone, he sold me on using them for my move by explaining if there is any damage, he makes it good, and he was responsive to my request for a move within the next week. When I told him I had a 3-level, 3 bedroom townhouse and explained a detailed item-by-item list of furniture I had to move, Dave gave me a cost estimate by phone ($1600-1800). In retrospect, I would not recommend depending on a phone estimate, as I gave him a description of my furniture yet the final cost was $2,850, which was $1,050 over the estimate of $1600-1800. When the crew arrived at 9:40 a.m. in a U-Haul truck and I gave them a tour, the lead immediately called for 2 more workers and a trailer, an unexpected cost when I expected to pay for 4 workers, not 6. In the end, they damaged several pieces of my property, left 2 furniture pieces in a doorway and hallway, left rugs rolled up, and they did not replace the large mirror on a dresser (the metal braces were left by the front door). Dave made a visit to view my claimed damages and refunded $400 due to the damage. I am disappointed because I relied on other Angie's List referrals to select Dave the Mover over 3 other movers I contacted, but was dissatisfied with the amount of damage to my property and significant overrun in price (50% higher than estimated). Unfortunately I would not recommend nor use again for professional moving services.

I called Dave the Movers for a quote on moving. Mr. Dave called back in a timely manner and provided a quote and estimation on how long the job would take. I received another quote which was about $450 less, and the estimation of time was less. So I went with the other moving company. Mr. Dave was very responsive and professional. Just by talking to him on the phone, I felt like his company would have done a good job. If I need to move again, I would consider Dave the Moving company.

They did an excellent job. They were very polite and professional and fast. I moved out of a 3 bedroom house and they had me moved into my new home in a little over 5 hours. Not one thing was broken. I am very happy with the job they did and would highly recommend the moving company Dave The Mover.

They were great. Had a cancellation so we did the move that afternoon. Three man crew was wonderful, fast, careful and proficient.

I am moving from VA to DC. Not all moving companies have the ability to go into DC. I was very happy to see that Dave the Mover LLC would have been able to handle the move. As it turns out, the date I originally thought was going to be the move date changed due to family matters. I was unable to use Dave's services but would have. He was very patient and explaned how certain items would be loaded, padded/strapped and handled. While I hope not to have in the near future. I would certainly contact Dave to see if he could help me out!

With less than a week's notice, a move date was commit-ed to and the team arrived on time, as promised. The stairway was narrow, carpeted and had a 90 degree landing turn, the extraction took considerable effort for the movers. They removed a railing to provide them some more room and to avoid any trauma to the railing. To protect the carpet they put down a runner. To make the load more manageable, the equipment was disassembled into two still heavy pieces, with one being much larger than the other. Even though they used a heavy duty dolly, it took considerable effort to move the larger heavy unit up the stairs to the 90 degree turn landing. At that point, because of the size of the unit, they found they had insufficient room to move the dolly for traversing the remaining stairs. At this point they decided to cover the stairs with blankets and to push and lift the unit without a dolly. This went smoothly. The smaller piece was carried up the stairs by two movers. All of this was done with no damage, scratches or marks on the stairway or to the equipment. While part of the crew was securing the load on a trailer, the others reinstalled the railing and retrieved their equipment. The transport went smoothly as did the unloading and reassembly. I highly recommend Dave The Mover LLC for your moving chores. Oh, I should mention that the above price includes a 5% discount Dave offers to Angie's list customers. While I initially felt that the quoted price was high, after seeing the effort required and receiving the Angie's List discount, I felt I received a good value for my dollars.

Overall experience: Very Good! 3 man crew showed up promptly at appointed time; Jose, Foreman; Mike, Mover; & Davon, Driver & helper. Gave them tour of house & contents to be moved; they started moving from upstairs right away taking care with most everything. One big dresser suffered a slight amount of damage to its edge during this time; Jose brought it to my attention right away & told me he would take care of this problem -- he apologized for their mistake -- did not happen to anything else. All contents, including a washer, dryer, & chest freezer were packed carefully into truck within 2.5 hrs & then transported to new home. Gave them a tour of new home & discussed placement of items; they got started right away & had truck unloaded in no time. Jose offered either repair of dresser top or discount on moving fee. I chose the repair; Jose took dresser with them, had repair done, & returned dresser to in 2 days. I was very satisfied with the results & with the professionalism displayed by Jose. I would recommend Dave the Mover to anyone.

Dave the mover was on time and flexible in waiting for me to complete the buy with the seller of the piano (craigslist). All went smoothly and they took great care in setting up my new piano just perfectly!! Very professional, courteous, & friendly.

Relocating from the rocky mountains to Virginia, I recently engaged the services of a national moving company whose employees, contrary to the service contract, refused to carry my baby grand piano up a flight of stairs and into my townhouse. They did place the piano in my garage before driving off. Not good. I searched for piano movers in the area, called one and was quoted $900 for carrying the piano up the stairs, so called another and found myself speaking with Dave the Best Mover. His attitude was positive and he even drove past the home to see the steps before quoting me a price, which was $405. A few days later, three men--led by Juan, who was the model of professionalism--appeared exactly when scheduled, were polite, and prepared with all piano-moving gear. They worked quickly. Best of all, they were extremely careful and knew what they were doing. Once the piano was inside the home, they went right to work attaching the harp and legs, then placed the piano exactly as I wanted it. The process and their work could not have been better. I have moved my piano all over the country and within cities many times over many years, and I think Dave's price was a bit high. Nevertheless, the service was excellent. I have already recommended Dave the Best Mover to others and am happy to recommend him and his fine employees here. You can trust them with your piano.

I called several movers the night before with a short term move request. I need the big stuff from my ABF trailer moved into my house before that Friday morning. Dave was only one of two movers that called me back the next morning. What I found interesting was that Dave called to let me know that he had no openings that week, but he was willing to listen to me convince him that we could do this because I just needed an upright spinnette piano and our master bedroom set moved into the house from the driveway. Dave said give me an hour to think this through and I will call you back. He promptly called back I think in 15 minutes. We agreed that he would have a two man crew at my house that afternoon!! They promptly called 30 minutes before arriving.I must tell everyone that this is not my first house move and my wife and are professional pack and ship operators, so we know how things should be packed and how they should be moved.I have never seen movers work as hard as Jose and his helper. Within two hours, they had moved my upright piano, entertainment center, and a sofa into the first floor. I forgot to mention that also included a very heavy, large Thomasville bedroom set (TV armoire, dresser, lingerie drawers, mens drawers, 2 night stands, and my queen sleigh bed. They also moved dressers, cabinets, and mattresses for two additional rooms and exercise room equipment into the basement!!!!!I cant believe that they moved all this stuff into my house in two hours. They were worth every penny and they only nicked the trim on my front door ever so slightly.I cannot stress how pleased I am with Dave The Mover and proudly recommend them to everyone on Angies List.

He came over and I had to take time off for this move. He came and did a walk through. I also needed help packing because I worked a lot of hours. So, he gave me an estimate. My dad was paying half of it. I misunderstood my new landlord about Dave because thers's a company called Three Daves moving company. My dad thought the estimate was ok. Dave explained that he would have the movers pack everything. In my lease my landlord said he had to be professionally cleaned and defleed because I have pets. So, Dave referred me to some service providers. Now Dave said we'll have to provide lunch for his crew for the pack and move. He said that is the way it is. Either you get us lunch or we don't do the move. I told him there's two option pizza or fast food. He said he'll let me know. The day of the move his crew has a bit of work to do and comes lunch. I asked him which one and he said "no you will have to take us to the Marshall Diner". I told them "no" and he said "we're leaving". So, I had to get them food from there. We get to the diner and the waitress hands me the bill and there's no total. The total was $80 for lunch. I was going to see if Dave was going to help me and he says "Oh well". So, now we're ready to come to my new place 7 miles away. Dave starts to unload. I told him the day of the mover I had to go to court. I told him I needed him to put the boxes marked "clothes" to be in my bedroom. Also I was going to drive my computer to my new place myself. He said "no no no we're pros we'll pack it up for you.". He explains how they pack up everything, and I was fine with it. So, we get to the house and his unloading and says "you have too may boxes and we cannot fit everything in the house." He tells me we're going to Stable Storage. I told him to put it in an attic and he said they're not allowed to do it. I told him he could load the boxes from floor to ceiling and he said "no, we could cause a fire and it's a safety hazard". We get to the house after going to the storage unit. He sets up my computer and everything was fine there. So, then he goes "the job was bigger than we thought and it's going to cost more." I told him no I'm not paying more. And he said he take everything back. I told my dad and he's a judge. I tipped them after the work. I go into my office to enter some stuff on the computer. The only thing real on my computer was the screen everything was a box imagine of the computer. I never found any of my stuff. I call Dave to see what happen to my computer and he said "I have no idea what your talking about we didn't take it.". I get up early and I start going through the boxes to get my clothes and I could not find my work suite. I had to call my supervisor and tell her that I had no clothes. So, I had to go to the storage unit that they did not leave in my house. I referred them to a friend and had the same experience with everything. I had the worse experience EVER!!!

I purchased a new home and needed to move the weekend of July 2. I contacted Brown Moving on a personal recommendation and he was unable to fit me into his schedule. He then referred me to Dave "the best" Mover stating he referred all customer's whose needs he couldn't meet to Dave because he trusted Dave would do it the way he would. I was super impressed with Dave "the best" Mover when I called and appreciated both the easy conversation, upfront pricing, and humor. On July 2, Dave called me to let me know the crew was enroute and when they should be arriving. The crew was extremely professional and quick. And it was the hottest day of the year! I swear. I just got out of their way as they packed everything on the van. I have some especially heavy furniture and a treadmill that they lifted like it was nothing.I did buy lunch and tipped all 3 individuals in the team for doing an outstanding job! I have already referred Dave "the best" Mover to others and would use this company again in a heartbeat!

I had a relatively unusual request to move an extremely large chest of drawers (72" wide x 29" deep x 39.5" high) up 2 floors and a smaller chest of drawers (31.5" wide x 19" deep x 30.25" high) down 2 floors of my townhouse. Half of the companies I contacted did not do such "small" jobs and a couple were willing to do the job based on a 3 or 4 hour minimum. I emailed Davethemover.com on Tuesday, 4/12, and received an email response from the owner, Dave Wassenaar, with an extremely reasonable estimate - 1 hour travel + 1 hour moving done by 2 people for $160.00. He had availability on Thursday, 4/14, and offered some other days/times. I called the morning of the 14th to see if he could fit in my move that day and I was very lucky that he could. Dave called me later in the day to give me an exact ETA that was well within the 2-hour window I had been given earlier. He and Pearla (the Powerhouse, as I have named her) arrived right on time and did an absolutely incredible job not only wrapping/protecting my furniture, walls & stairs, but also did an unbelievable job manuvering an extremely bulky piece of furniture up an unforgiving split staircase while staying within the estimated time & amount.
