Very responsive to phone calls, arrived exactly when he said he would. Showed me how to set the traps and provided advice on how to bait them and where to locate them. Removed problem animal promptly after it was captured.

No more bats

A raccoon was living under my porch deck. I caught him with my trap. I called Colvins ADC and he responded within a half an hour. He was pleasant and caring as he transferred a very angry raccoon from my trap to his. Considering his handling of the animal and his professional manner I would not hesitate to call on his services again.

Mr. Colvin was very responsive, came out same day. There were more raccoons then expected and took him many days (about a week), to get them all. I cannot recommend his service highly enough.

He complied. He set several traps in the house. |When after a couple of weeks there was no action...he picked up the traps. |I bought one from him and he showed me how to set it myself. He was very fair.

Over the weekend, we discovered a nest of 5 bats in our basement, behind the insulation (our basement is insulated, but unfinished). My husband heard chirping and then found them. We called the cell number for our pest control company, but they didn't call us back, so I called them first thing this morning (a Monday). When I learned they don't do bat removal, I came here to Angie's List and found Colvin's. This was at 9:10 a.m. By 9:45, Steve Colvin was here (he happened to be in Charlottesville, and I live in Crozet). By 10:15, the bats were gone. The poor things were severely dehydrated and couldn't be saved. They must have come in when the basement door was open, because they clearly hadn't been getting out at night to eat or drink, and had been there for a few months. Steve was very professional and personable. Since it was raining out, he went in and out the basement door to keep from getting my floors wet. I would highly recommend him for your critter removal issue!

Mr. Colvin was very professional and removed 14 flying squirrels from our attic.

We discovered bats in our attic. We called Colvins and Mr. Colvin came right out. He examined the situation and talked us through it. He was able to get out all the adults and babies out in a safe method and cover the all vents that go to the ouside covered with metal screening. Mr. Colvin knows his business and would recommend him in a moment.

There was a Copperhead snake laying on a ledge in my garage. I called Mr. Colvin and he came right over and removed it. He searched the garage and area for other snakes but did not see any. He put down some heavy duty glue boxes in case any more came in the garage.

This was an unusually fine experience from the initial telephone contact through the final pick up of the trapped animal and repairs to the roof vent flashing boots. Mr. Colvin called me back within an hour of my initial telephone call. An appointment was set for the next day and he came to my home on time fully equipped to assess the nature of the problem and make comprehensive recommendations on solutions. He came back the next day to see about progress in catching the animal pest and also to install a chimney cap. The animal pest was trapped the night of Mr. Colvin's second visit, and he came to collect the animal and to finish repairs to the roof vent flashing boots the next morning. It took only three days from initial telephone call to final completion of animal removal and repairs.

My cable guy was replacing some connections in my attic when I heard him stumble and scream. He came rushing out and let me know that there was a snake up there that almost bit him. I've had a few bad experiences with snakes in the past, so there was no way I was going to remove it myself. I started looking for exterminators online, I called about four different companies who all gave me the same answer. "We don't do snake removal, we can send some one out next week to give you a full home inspection." I called Colvin's and he told me he'd be there in an hour. It was after 6 PM when I called and he was there before 7. He went right up, removed the snake, and that was that. Professional, courteous, and did exactly what he set out to do. I couldn't be more happy with the quality of service. Colvin's does what no one else in the area would do.

I found Colvin's Animal Damage Control's information in the Yellow Pages when trying to find someone to remove the bird that was in my range hood duct and who worked on a Saturday (Colvin's available 24/7). I called the number listed (Steve's cell phone number) and he confirmed he could perform the services, how long he would take to get to my house, and made sure I was aware of his service call charge up front. He arrived when he said he would, safely and humanely (and quickly) removed the bird and sent it on its way, and at no additional charge he installed a grill where the exhaust duct exits to the outside so as to prevent any creatures getting in there in the future. I found Steve to be very professional, very courteous and friendly, efficient, and well worth the very reasonable fee.
