+ -1 moreIt didn’t go well. I had purchased a special offer that included a bath exhaust fan which included installation for $150.00. Mr Schools did not only honor his offer but would not, did not refund what I paid. Schools offered plenty excuses but never delivered- this event occurred over a several month period. Extremely disappointed and a total rip-off in my opinion.

From my first contact nearly 2 years ago until now (10-2018) a fan has still not been provided and installed - I've gotten nothing for my $150 but being ignored. This contractor has refused my refund requests etc. and has made no effort to right this wrong.

+ 0 moreThe Lantern post light never worked so they promised to return to fix problem in less than 2 weeks for additional $175. Its now going into October and No Return Date. Also I have not been able to receive a Paper Invoice for my Paid Completed Work I requested Numerous times. Woody, their worker was very Professional and did Excellent Work.
Description of Work: Replace 4 light fixtures and 1 lantern post light. Install 1 new light at top of house for $375 in August.

+ 0 moreWe got off to an unfortunate bad start because my emails to Mr. Schools went to his spam file. I was frustrated by his unresponsiveness to my emails but there was no way he could have known what was happening. I know he was being honest about this because other companies and individuals with whom I've interacted with have had a similar problem lately. His telephone manner was exceeding polite. The employee who did the actual work embodied the same manner--kind, polite, cordial, and competent. I would hire these folks back in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Installation of outdoor lights tripped by motion detectors, some minor indoor wiring of lights.

+ -1 moreAll the work was done making sure receptacles and fixtures had a neat level finished appearance. Tools were placed carefully to avoid accidental falls and damage to my home. (It is rare I have not had minor damage to my homes--floors and woodwork, in particular--caused during other repair visits.) Work areas were thoroughly cleaned of any and all debris once work was complete. Moreover, the two electricians, both named Josh, were cheerful and pleasant to talk with. Almost entirely all positive. I did have to wait a very long time for the appt., and there was some sort of miscommunication with the office which resulted in me waiting all day for men who weren't coming until the NEXT day. But despite this, unless in a rush, I would hire Schools again.
Description of Work: I needed a range receptacle replaced, a ceiling fan replaced, and a new outdoor receptacle installed.

+ -1 moreNot well. My impression is that AG customers come second fiddle to non AG customers who will pay more.
Description of Work: Recessed lights (I purchased the cans/lights, but needed someone to install so I purchased two hours of electrical service). I called Mr. Schools to schedule this service, and he told me that I could use the money I spent on this service toward recessed lights, which would be $125 per light. He was initially not willing to send the electrician for the two hours as written in the deal. I read him the Angie's List Deal, which states that I purchased two hours of electrical labor, and he stated this was a mistake, and that it was for two hours of "service'. I asked for clarification, and he was only able to say that he charges $125 / light and I could use the money toward that. Eventually, he relented and agreed to schedule me for this week after pushing the issue. I just received a text from him stating that it would not be this week, but 'possibly' next week. This is really a shame, as I have used Schools Electric many times in the past and our Nannie loves the service technician, Joshua. However, this is now twice that I have had difficulty scheduling and receiving service (prior fan installation took about a year). I resisted leaving this review based on the quality work I have received in the past, however after much debate and talking with others, I feel other AG members need to know that if they buy such a deal, it will take some degree of negotiation and persistence to get services rendered. Thankfully, when they do come they do a good job but it will take time.

+ -1 moreIt was great. It came from a little part further away than I expected but it was 2 young guys who came out who did exactly what I asked them to do. They just did the job, got in, got out and everything is fine. There was no fanfare, they were very polite and got in got out.
Description of Work: I think they rewired an outside outlet that had a ground fault circuit breaker on it and it came unhooked. They installed 2 smoke detectors in my ceiling. Then we've got an outside spotlight that was not working and they got that working, I think some of the contacts got corroded.

The ceiling fan was wired so that it has its own light switch with two switches, one for the fan and one for the light kit. He did awesome work! I would gladly recommend Schools Electrical Service to anyone.

+ -1 moreOutstanding! The owner was going on vacation when I called, but sent a technician out to do the job. It turned out that the attic space was too small for him to fit in since he had to install new wiring and an upgraded breaker for the new range. He installed the breaker but had to reschedule for another day when a smaller technician could come out and fit in the attic space to do the job. Unfortunately, the new date didn't get communicated to the owner and there was a slight delay in getting it done. Since the new range wasn't due until the day they had rescheduled for, this was not an issue at all. I give them high marks for keeping me informed and keeping their word. That something didn't get passed on was unfortunate, but understandable and didn't result in any delay when it came to using the new range. Good guys, good service, good communication. One more thing. When I first contacted them, I asked about one offer listed. As it turned out, that probably wouldn't cover any parts needed to do the job, according to the owner. Buy this other deal and if it turns out we don't need to do anything, we'll make arrangements to make the price right. No surprises. Hire these guys!

I'm a little disappointed because the outlet work I needed wasn't able to be performed on this visit. I wasn't home during the job and explaining it on the phone didn't help. I have to pay additional for him to come back out. Other than that the ceiling fan was installed nicely.
