They said there wasn't anything wrong with our foundation, but an issue with our framing. We appreciated that they gave us an honest answer and didn't try to sell us it was something we didn't need. He was very thorough with the job, very professional and kind. He was a very nice person.

I think they were overpriced. The quality was fine. They were very responsive coming out, but they failed to meet the deadline and we were late for our Christmas party. They were professional.

I contacted JES in Chester VA office about a issue within my home of uneven floors and cracks in walls and ceilings. An investigator came to my and confirmed my foundation issue and noted a repair and provided an estimate of $2500 to repair. I believe what he recommended would solve my foundation problem however the repair never took placer. My scheduled date for repair date was Feb 6. JES crew came came to my home and proceeded to get to work however after about 3 hours the crew stopped stating that they had run into issues with my HVAC system in the crawl space and they needed to consult the inspector again before they could proceed. A couple of days went by with no notification of my repair status was. I called the inspector several times and he never returned my phone calls. I justed wanted a status as to what they wanted to do next. A week later after no response from the inspector I then called the inspectors supervisor on the Feb 17. He stated he would call me back late that evening. He never returned my phone calls either with a status. I finally got a hold of him today and stated he was going to return my deposit. I hope I don't have to sue. I do not recommend JES because the Chester office has no follow through. I realize that my project is not a large one and I realize that I would have to take a back seat to other projects on JES plate but I do expect to be contacted made aware of my situation. If I knew that had a problem with follow through I would have never given them my deposit. UPDATE: As of 3/12/12 I finally got my money back.

They were very professional and did a good job. We were very pleased with them.

Setting up the appointment for the free inspection was a pain. The customer service woman I contacted kept putting me on hold because she said she was left at the front desk herself and couldn't handle all the calls. I finally was able to schedule an inspection. A supposed structural engineer from JES came out to our house for the free inspection. He proceeded to take a bunch of pictures and explain to me all the reasons that our house was supposedly falling apart and needed to be fixed, to the tune of $6000. We were shocked because we'd recently purchased the house and none of this came up on our house inspection. We later had it reviewed by three other structural engineers and they all said that JES was inventing problems where there were none. And they all had very negative feelings about JES as a company, too, including telling us that the company was currently in court for charging for unnecessary work. Never again.

Not very well. They are not what is represented on their website. They may do good work, but their way of trying to sell you things you don't need, instead of helping you understand your issue that you called them about is not what I expected, The salesman never emailed me his report, or estimates, either. But I did get an online survey, which I give them good marks on thinking they were going to follow through with the promised report, and estimate to fix it. Next time I'll wait until the "product" is delivered. So I prematurely gave them a good recommendation. However, to be fair, they were punctual when they came.

They were punctual and did a great job. Even though their estimate was a little higher, I was certainly glad I hired them and it was well worth it. I would highly recommend them. The crew was friendly and I could tell they were working hard without cutting corners.

They did the worked as requested. I really don't have a problem with their work but with their after payment support. Since the work was completed I have been trying to get them to fix the alarm under my house which is supposed to signal I have a leak. They told me I had two problems I needed to get fixed. I had the HVAC people out to fix a suposed leak in the drain line and a plumber to find a supposed leak in the refridgerator water line. No problem but every time it rains the alarm goes off. I call to have someone inspect the problem and the service manager (Bryan) would not call back but a lady in the office called after 4 phone calls (two to the owner Jessie Waltz) to setup an appointment over a week away (my request not theirs) and I asked for first appointment on a Monday (9am). At 9:30 when no one showed up or called I called and the manager answered. The guy that needed to come was out on job sites and would not be there for another 30 minutes. I had to stay home from work for this visit. I asked again to speak to Mr. Waltz or Mrs. Waltz since they do all the advertising for their business (third time I have now asked to speak someone over the manager). Finally a supervisor shows up and finds the problem (they didn't put in a drainage tile down the back of the house and water was coming in under the plastic seal they put in originally). Now they will need to remove the seal and dig and put in drains all the way down the back of the house and probably tape the material back together back instead of replace it and do the job correctly. The Waltz's state in a recnt article in a local paper that when you call them you talk to their people and not an answering machine. Don't call after 5pm or on the weekends because the people answering the phone is an answering service and they don't report any calls it appears. I called the night they finished the initial work about the alarm and had to call several times to get someone out to look at the problems the first time. This was the second time that I just described. Still do not understand why after 3 requests I can't talk to the Waltz to tell them how bad their service after payment is. Their work appears good but their service after the sale is very poor. I doubt the Waltz's care as long as they get their money!

We had water seepage in our basement from as high up as 10" off the floor during rainstorms. We could not finish the basement without attending to this problem. A crew of 4 showed up, cut a 12" wide channel in the concrete floor, dug down below the foundation footing and installed the drain system. I knew the process and asked them to change one of their materials(white pvc pipe instead of the corrugated pipe)which was no problem with them. After two years, we have had no problems with the pumps or the installed drain...it's working perfectly!

They came and installed the push piers as planned. The workers had a great deal of difficulty as they said that our footing under the wall was very bad quality. They did the job and were able to level the sun room and so we were pleased. The brick work continued to crumble very badly. We had a few masons come in to give us an estimate on the brick work (not included in the estimate above). It turned out that the brick was not foundation but only skirting and so was not supporting the sun room at all! The sun room was supported by beams and brick columns. We had JES come back and they moved 4 of the piers to the support columns and left one in the ground. In the end the work was OK, but we were very angry because the original recommendation was not appropriate to the job. They should have checked under the sun room rather than assume what was wrong (we are not engineers!)
