When we were faced with disheartening water damage to our live-in basement, our experience working with Jenkins Restoration was everything a homeowner could hope for. The completed project is top quality. Not only are we pleased, but all who visit our home and are aware of the damage we suffered are amazed at the finished results. Through every issue our family faced during the restoration process, our Jenkins project manager, Kevin, walked alongside us. He met every challenge presented (whether related to the house restoration or time accommodations due to a relative?s terminal illness). He was always pleasant, always helpful, always respectful, and always ready with issue-solving suggestions. He reworked estimates and timelines to accommodate changing needs and on occasion, our changing preferences. When we suffered additional, unrelated water damage to the master bedroom, we were thankful for how seamlessly Jenkins interfaced with our insurance company to incorporate the new issues with the ongoing project. Regardless of the time-juggling placed on him by multiple projects, subcontractors, emails, phone calls, and texts, somehow in the midst of his busy schedule, Kevin found time to answer my questions and concerns, and he was always 100% a pleasure to deal with. From Day 1, Kevin and Jenkins took the repair concerns off our shoulders and helped us deal with them. For all of the above reasons and many more, we are extremely pleased and deeply grateful for our experience with Jenkins. Not only would we highly recommend them, we would not hesitate to use them again for any restoration project.

major contrast of wills!! Wanted to install carpet before the replacement ceilings were completed. ( We can cover the floors from spackel and paint. ) Major job refinishing a brick floor that was due MORE to paint droppings more than initial water damage They had their own schedules that was beyond reason and practical application. The ceilings were beginning to show cracking in less than 6 months and they claimed was due to "House settling" Have large commercial size stove that is very heavy and advised repairmen that 4 men needed to replace !- they said 3 guys available could do it and tore the new floor in the process. PLUS bent a leg so that the stove top is not level.... AND repeated calls to discuss issues were NOT considered important by the job supervisor.

Water damaged wall was primed and painted with no complaints. However, the connecting walls in our 2 story foyer was painted several times by several painters. The first painter(2) did not prime walls. After paint dried you could see paint roller marks. Contacted the contractor and complained about the poor work that was done and that it needed corrected. Took 2 weeks for another painter to come who wasn't prepared for such a job and also stated the first job wasn't professional. This painter corrected the paint job (2 days) with our help pointing out the missed roller marks that he missed as well. If the wall(s) was primed first, multiple coats of paint would not have been needed. If painters were experienced, they would have known this. Contractor never came by to inspect any of the work that was done even after complaint was made. Received bill which included multiple items that were not performed but was for the exact amount from insurance claim. Contractor revised the contract multiple times which still included work that was not performed and previous items were inflated to match the amount insurance company gave us based on the original estimate which was for major work to be done. Contacted insurance company and was told that this company has not been used for painting in the past and that we could have painting redone with company of our choice. Did not feel a need to have everything redone so the touch ups were done by ourselves. Overall, we would have cancelled the claim if we knew only painting needed done. The estimate that was originally given was for a window and drywall be removed from a 2 story foyer which would have been a major job and walls to be painted since they were connecting. Painters did not leave any leftover paint as well. s

Response from Jenkins Restorations
We regret to hear about your experience with Jenkins Restorations. No matter the size of the project, it is our goal to perform above industry standards and address your concerns during the job. The approved insurance company estimate only allowed for one coat of paint on continuous walls and the color change that you requested explains the roller marks. Our Project Manager suggested one prime coat and two additional coats for a color change but the additional payment was declined so we moved forward with the scope. We removed the window from our estimate when we found it was not necessary to perform repairs but all other repairs were performed including additional coats of paint free of charge due to the color change. After looking into our financial records for this job it appears that our Project Manager only invoiced you for $500 on what was originally a $1700 estimate. We’re so sorry we couldn’t make you happy and that truly is our intent. We didn’t intend to waste anyone’s time or to inconvenience you in any way. Please let me know if I’ve understood this incorrectly in any way or if we can come out and make amends.

On October 25th, our house had a broken plumbing line that resulted in a major flood throughout the entire upstairs, through the ceiling, and into almost all rooms on the first floor. The flooding was so severe, the fire department was dispatched to assist with water shutoff and to provide the initial inspection on the safety of our home. Upon the firefighter's request, I immediately called our insurance company (USAA) to file the claim. I was surprised to hear that it would be possible to have someone on site the same day and, having absolutely no experience with a situation like this (let alone the shock value of standing in my upstairs bedroom with 3 inches of water under my feet), I jumped immediately on the suggestion to have their preferred vendor handle the claim. Jenkins Restorations had a mitigation specialist at the house less than three hours after the water stopped, and his professionalism, dedication, and expertise helped to set the tone for the remainder of our interactions with them. Matt, who handled the mitigation, worked throughout the night (while we tried to adjust in a hotel), providing constant updates, and was at the house when we came back first thing the following morning. In the first night alone, Matt had removed all soiled carpeting, installed dozens of air dryers, removed insulation and baseboards, and assisted in establishing a meeting with the person who would handle the remainder of our claim the upcoming Monday (the incident occurred on Friday). I am absolutely confident that his actions not only saved our house from unknown additional damage (timeliness alone all but eliminated the possibility of mold), and I could not imagine a person who would be better equipped to deal with a family during a disaster like this. That following Monday, we met Chris. Chris was assigned as the project manager for our repairs, and he handled all of the correspondence with our insurance company, provided estimates, assigned and monitored the various vendors (flooring, painters, drywall specialists, etc.), and gave me consistent updates throughout. From the first day we met, my wife, my two kids, and I felt as though the darkness and uncertainty had been immediately lifted. We were told on a step-by-step basis what to expect, from the timeline of estimate approval to the name of the flooring representative we would be speaking with. Every single person that was sent to us via Chris and Jenkins not only spoke highly of their company, but also went on to provide amazing service. I'm sure Jenkins keeps these quality contacts close for a reason. During this whole process, Chris stayed in close contact via email, texting, and phone calls. We never doubted the progress that was being made. Although we are extremely pleased with the repairs done to our home, the biggest compliment I have (and a major factor of my desire to write this review) is simply based on their understanding and desire to make this stressful situation as painless as possible for a family with two small children. We spent five days in a hotel during the dry out process and an additional month during the repairs. Chris and his team did everything possible to expedite repairs (albeit ensure they were done with the quality we would expect), and their hard work through the Thanksgiving holiday time and leading up to Christmas allowed us to move back in to our home on December 20th. Although it was a close call, I never would have imagined my wife and I would have been able to see the boys open presents under a tree on Christmas morning. Jenkins could very easily have explained away the difficulties of the holiday season and left us in the hotel, but their ability to see the family behind the claim and to share in our happiness of being home for the holidays made all the difference. In writing this review, I would like to convey that I would never want an issue like this to happen to another family, however the four of us learned the hard way that it can and does. It is extremely nice to know there are companies like Jenkins that are only a phone call away at those unfortunate moments. I would highly recommend them for any needs that might arise.
Description of Work: Jenkins acted as the preferred vendor for a USAA water mitigation/damage claim. Service included drying severely flooded house, along with full project management to ensure all repairs were made in accordance with insurance and homeowner's expectations.
