Energy Max Solutions

i requested a quote for insulation to be installed in my attic. Energy Max installs blown in fiberglass as well as cellulose for same price. I first asked for a quote and then later mentioned I was a member of Angie's list. They cut the price but were still some $700.00 higher than the competition for the same work. This is significant since I only paid $1100.00 from Lakeside Installation. One reason for the higher price from Energy Max Solutions may be that they subcontract out their work thereby allowing for additional markup.

Overall we were satisfied with the work.

The company that came and installed were very professional. Although, the follow throw from Energy Max wasn't the greatest, I would still recommend them.

Two men came to blow in the insulation and were here 15 to 30 minutes.

They made contact immediately and asked a good time to set an appoint (good communication). When I called back after figuring out the best time, I left a message on the voicemail of the agent that called me about the appointment; I did not hear anything for several months (bad communication.) Eventually, I received an email that was written like I had dropped the ball in contacting them. When I said that I had left a message and gotten no response , I received an apology and a promise for the field person to contact me immediately (professional response). I date and time was set and my daughter planned to leave work early to be at the house for the inspection. When she got to the house, she learned that the inspector, estimator had come two hours early (not professional). He left me a voicemail stating he would send me a written email estimate and the $99.00 would be applied if I did the repairs and if not, it would be refunded. I never received the email (maybe it was sent to spam, maybe it was never sent). There was no follow up phone call to check with me (poor communication.) I have no idea if my money was refunded. Bottom line: hard company to deal with and I'm pretty turn off on the Big deals, too. Probably will never purchase another since the business rarely contacts you to get things rolling and if you're very busy like me, more often then not, your deals expire and its money down the drain.

They were very nice but It took them a long time to get back to me and their pricing was a lot higher than the other quotes I received.

He told me I was able to get a refund if I called Angie's List. The whole experience with him was terrific.

Job went well. Everyone involved was very attentive and despite some miscommunication with the subs early in the day, Cedric was able to get everything squared away. Nice job.

The gutters on the house were old and growing trees. The new ones are covered. The old gutters were taken off and hauled away and the new gutters were put up. Everything was done in less than a day. The new gutters changed the whole look of the house. I am very happy with the service and the look of the house.

I would highly recommend Seattle Gutter for gutter work. Energy Max is still work in progress..

Bad: 1) No prior notice - they just showed up. Luckily I was here and available. 2) Poor communication between Energy Max and local Insulation company doing work regarding job details/scope. 3) They were here for 3-4 hours (2-3 more than necessary) 4) Initially they double charged my credit card, but reversed it within a couple of days. Good: 1) Overall price and quality were fine. 2) They gave me a modest discount for above issues.

Had some issues with discounts initially but EMS discounted $500. Cedric was very responsive to requests. He wanted to make it right before leaving.

I only worked with them on scheduling. They demonstrated a clear desire to treat their customer well.

So here is the deal with them. When I bought the voucher the contact person emailed and said that he had to go out of the country for two weeks due to family emergency and requested us to be patient, and in the mean time to call Rachel at the numbers provided to set up an appointment. I get family emergencies and so did not mind waiting.Emails and calls after that for a whole month were met with no response. After the month I suddenly got an email that they were in the process of moving to a new location and once again the patience of their customers was appreciated. After about six weeks of waiting finally I had Simon Lee come out and check out the scope of the job and was promised a quote. I waited all week to hear from someone and finally called myself to be told that the quote had already been sent and that someone should be contacting me to set up an appointment for the actual repair.. I got a call back after an hour with an apology saying that he had actually not sent me a quote as the cost was well within the limits of my voucher, and that someone would call me to set up an appointment. When I asked about the scope of the job, it seemed that they would do the bare minimum as opposed to other quotes that I had taken where I had been told that a complete section of the gutter should be replaced. What they wanted to do was just replace a part of it even though the rest of the gutter is also not in good shape,.When I asked what the cost was and if they whole section could be done within the cost of my voucher , I was told yes it could. So does that mean that they just want to do the most cost effective job for themselves. My voucher s $99 for $200 worth of work. I asked Simon to give me a written estimate. He said he would do so and that someone would call me to set up an appointment. Again, no communication after that, till five days later I get another email. Here it is: "I am writing to touch base so you know I am working on getting your job completed. I have been in the process of vetting a new crew since my original one is moving too slow, and we cannot afford to waste any more of our customer?s time. We appreciate your patience with us and you will receive a scheduling call early this coming week, Monday or Tuesday the latest. My sincere apologies. Best, Simon" I appreciate the emails that they send(once it is past time for them to actually contact the customer and do something), but I have yet to see the work done. So I cannot in all honesty say anything about the quality of the work. All I know is that no amount of vouchers and discounts is worth so much of headache. I am a very patient person and in my entire life I have never given anyone a bad review. I am doing this not to malign the quality of their work but just out of frustration at not being able to get such a simple job done.

The company contacted me very soon after I purchased the deal. The representative was very prompt and courteous for the initial consultation and estimate, and he quickly sent me an email giving suggestions of what could be done. Since then, however, I have made multiple attempts to schedule the actual appointment, but after 2 months, I still have not heard from them. [Update March 2013] Shortly after posting this initial review, the company contacted me about resolving my complaint. They were very professional about it and I was very happy to consider their offer, however, after multiple attempts to clarify the proposal, I never heard back from them. Very disappointed.

As stated above the experience was good from start to finish.

On the morning of August 16th Howard visited my house to determine my needs, options, and provide an estimate. During this time, he was punctual, courteous, informative, and did not pressure me to purchase any unnecessary services. Not being fammiliar with the typical cost of installation, I lamented to Howard that, because I would be starting graduate school in the near future, I would have to consider the initial investment cost. It was evident that his guaranteed energy savings cost were legit, and the service would in fact pay for itself in a very respectable period of time, but school proved to be a more important investment for me at this time. I cannot attest to the quality or the final price for this reason, but if Howard's honesty and understanding are any indication of his work, I have no doubt that everything would have gone smoothly and the expected outcomes would have been obtained. Of note, the estimate he provided seemed fair and was a very good deal with the Angie's List deal offered.

Cedric arrived promptly at 8, as promised. The work crew, which seemed to be sub-contracted, called to say they were running late. Work wound up not starting until almost ten. That being said, they went right to work and spent what must have been a miserable 6+ hours in the hot, stuffy attic. Our house is one level with a room over the garage; the surface area of the roof is enormous! This crew covered surfaces that I can't imagine anyone being able to gain access to! They played music and laughed with each other all day. Delightful group.When the workday was wrapping up Howard came over and took my husband and me on an inspection tour. Everything was buttoned up tight and looked amazing. In addition to the attic work, we had several areas under the house where insulation batting had fallen down. All these areas were repaired free of charge while the work in the attic was being done. Very happy with this company!

Excellent job! Came out the same day and worked late into the night to resolve an item on our home inspection repair list (damaged insulation in the crawl space). Saved the day to help us move forward with the closing on the sale of our home. Very reasonably priced also.

They were very professional and prompt from the estimation to the insulation. They gave me options on based on what they found and didn't pressure me into a decision. The prices were affordable on all option levels. Giving them an "A" for overall experience is what they deserve. If I needed any other kinds of services they offered I wouldn't hesitate to call them.

It went well, but it just came down to them being somewhat more expensive than the provider that we went with for all new windows.

Team was knowledgable and provided options for window solutions. Work was done quickly and installers were very professional. Great experience.

Company only wanted to sell more expensive energy plan.

It went well. see above. I have radiant barriers upstairs in cubbies/eves, I have insulation around ducts under house and they did other insulation on 2 other occasions until i felt the type of heat I was aiming for!...they even went the extra mile to get another company to put film on my sun facing upstairs windows, which tends to get hot in summer...it's hard for me to believe they made much money with all the tweaking they did, but they are service oriented, and I am grateful to find that kind of personal service in this day and age, where work often gets done and you don't see the person again, so they aren't concerned with doing their best. Energy Max does do their best and beyond. Final walk thru was done a few weeks past all work was done, which helped me to assess everything thoroughly and also, because they worked around my being sick schedule. This is a real review:).

It went great. They went straight to work and were finished by lunchtime. Cleaned up, answered all questions. We didn't have the attic door cover for installation that day, but it's ordered and will be put in soon. I am looking forward to realizing the savings this work will bring in terms of my energy costs.
