We were very pleased with the results. The trees were removed and everything he said he would do was completed. He and his crew were very professional. We wouldn't hesitate to use their services again.

I had two very large and tall pine trees in my front yard which I wanted completely removed. I called and received his voice mail but he called back very quickly. We scheduled a time on a Saturday to get an estimate. He arrived promptly and we discussed the job. I felt confident that he could handle the job by his conversation and mannerisms. His price was fair. I did get a second estimate which was significantly lower than his estimate. However, Mr. Whorton mentioned handling Miss Utility where the second contractor approached the subject as an after thought which concerned me. Mr. Whorton gave me the timeframe when he would cut the down the trees. However, due to the snow storm he was unable to perform the work. He called me promptly to reschedule. Initially the job would have been done in 1 day. However, with the snow storm the job had to be scheduled on two separate days to allow Miss Utility to mark the area. He and 6 of his men showed up on a Friday and within 1 hour they had completely removed both trees and removed all of the pine needs and leaves from the area. It was impressive. After another bout of snow they returned the following Friday after Miss Utility marked the area. I unfortunately had a Kaleidoscope of lines running in the area where the two trees were. We had discussed clearing the spot and getting a lot of the roots up. However, do to the number of utility lines in the area, Mr. Whorton informed me that it wasn't possible. Initially, I was concerned about the final look. I have never had trees taken down and was unfamiliar with the mulch being left. However, I spoke to someone more familiar with this type of service and they assured me that it was standard and that the work done was done properly. Mr. Whorton is very professional and easy to work with. I made the right decision picking him over the other contractor even with the price differential. I received quality work, a good value and excellent service.

Once we established contact,a date was confirmed and the crew arrived along with Mr. Whorton. He set things in motion and then departed for another job. The crew was professional and efficient. One climber and 4 ground support workers. All the downed wood was removed and the area cleaned to pre-work condition. The crew arrived the next week to grind the two stumps. Total time was approx. 2 hrs. A job well done.

They were on time, showed up with 6-7 people including Donald, who did a lot of the work himself, but also closely supervised and directed the others. Did excellent work, but the best part was the cleanup. They made sure everything was cleaned up and left as it was before they arrived. I would hire them again and recommend them.

As Hurricane Irene was deciding to come our way we realized we had trees which HAD to come down, before the storm. We started calling Donald to get him out here, but couldn't get an answer, we knew he was most likely swamped, and he was. The day before Irene was to impact Richmond, Donald called and had a crew here within a very short time. They were professional, respectful, NICE and knew exactly what they were doing. We asked about adding another tree and one of the crewmen had to call Donald and within a short time he was here (coming from another job) to give the "OK" to his crew to remove that tree as well. This crew was like a well oiled machine. Each guy had a place to be and a job specific to perform. We were amazed watching them take these trees down, 1 had to be taken down from the top - no problem for them! They were done and not a sign of debris left behind. Donald Whorton and his guys are awesome. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone! We hope to use his services again in the future in leveling out a steeply sloped landscape. We chose to go with Donald Whorton because the company had the heavy equipment necessary for working on such a large tree. The price was in line with other estimates we received for such a big project. There was no damage to surrounding plants or buildings, and cleanup was well done. Whorton is a busy company, and we scheduled this a couple of weeks in advance; but when the day arrived the work was carried out punctually.

He did a wonderful job and we were very satisfied. He did it in a day or two. They were professional and showed up on time. They took care of exactly what we wanted. The workers were courteous and efficient. They had a nice big bucket truck and he was equipped to do the work. We have recommended them to others. It was great. We would definitely use them again.

Donald (owner) was late to the appointment for doing an estimate. Then when it came time to schedule the work, I called him three times and left messages. He never called back. Needless to say, I'm completely dissatisfied with Donald Whorton Tree Service and would not recommend him to anyone.

This was the second time we used this company. The first that was when we had quite a few trees removed. They were fast, professional, friendly, and left everything looking great and very clean afterwords. They also gave us some great advice regarding the trees that were left. This second time we were confident they could fix our problem after we explained it and after a few months, the trees are standing up straight and looking very healthy. Considering the alternative of replacing this expensive natural fence, we were very happy with the easy and inexpensive solution he came up with. We're actually about to call them for a third time to remove a seriously leaning tree in our back yard.
