Went well. Fellows were very friendly and efficient. Were very careful not to get insulation anywhere it didn't belong.

Excellent. Their quote was reasonable (they were our middle quote received) the staff were all incredibly responsive and very informative. I believe they provided the highest level of service at the best price. The two installers were prompt, polite and quick. They seemed to do a good job and were considerate of having a young toddler in the house from a clean up and safety perspective (they were also just very nice to my daughter.)
Description of Work: We insulated our attic (adding insulation to insufficient insulation) and our basement ceiling (conditioning the livable space).

I am a builder/architect with over 30 years of experience in designing and building homes. In my experience, I have rarely had a subcontractor fail (or refuse, as in this case) to remedy a problem with their work. I would strongly recommend anyone considering using this company to think twice, and research other qualified subcontractors.
Description of Work: New home construction, primarily blown foam and cellulose. In one area batt fiberglass insulation was installed, however installers failed to secure to framing under stairwell. The insulation fell out in this area within months of installation. I contacted the sales rep (unresponsive), then the owner of the company to ask them if they would repair this area prior to my final building inspection. I was told that they would only provide me with batt material (probably about $20 worth of material), but would not make the trip back to my home just for a small repair due to the distance. It seemed the distance was not a problem when a large install was contracted, but no accountability afforded when it came to backing up their workmanship.

All was well. I like the company but unfortunately they recommended the Cadillac of attic treatments, and I was looking for more of a mid-range price.
Description of Work: A very knowledgable rep visited my house and recommended a few courses of action, and followed up with a proposal.

Recommended by a friend. They were prompt, courteous and explained all that was needed to make my house more comfortable and energy efficient.. Tested all possible areas for heat loss with infrared/laser equipment to spot areas that were energy loss areas. Put easy access cover to seal attic access which was a big heat loss factor. When workers arrived, they identified themselves, discussed what they would be doing. They went to work quietly, got the job done, and left no mess for me to clean up. House seems tighter now, especially for the attic access area. Was very pleased with this company and staff.
Description of Work: Re-insulated and augmented existing under house and attic insulation and installed canvas cover to seal attic access.

iiEverything went well from scheduling my apopointment to the repair of the windshield chip. They were busy but considerate and efficient and got the job done quickly. Repair is almost impossible to see now, and I am very pleased woth this company. They made sure that I was considered in pricing because of my membership in Angie's List.

We had a thousand questions and they answered all of them no matter how odd. They told exactly what they would do and they did it as described and right when they said they would. We call the lead guy back again and again for air leaks around the fire place and doors that were really beyond the scope. The poor guy followed my wife all around they house with spray foam, working on doors, taking molding from around the fireplace spraying foam, stuffing insulation in unused appliance vents and they ash box for the unused fireplace. He was the nicest guy about everything, patient beyond belief, fixing every little thing, and offering advice where he could fix it. He did not charge use an extra dime! We plan to have them do our attic this fall.

I would stay away from this company! I was ready to contract with this merchant to encapsulate my attic with spray foam. I asked for insurance and warranty information and I received an email with insurance and warranty info. The warranty stated that the and quot;PROPERTY OWNER ASSUMES ALL RISKS FOR MISUSE OF PRODUCTSand quot;. Now that was a concern of mine since I read on the internet that if the chemicals are not mixed correctly or applied correctly it can cause a hazard and potentially a home that cannot be lived in due to noxious fumes coming into the home which can be become a nightmare and render a home that cannot be lived in. Polyurethane chemicals can cause potentially harmful medical situations if not applied and mixed correctly. When I contacted Mr. Sprouse with my concerns that the warranty stated that the PROPERTY OWNER ASSUMES ALL RISKS he just said and quot;well thats what the warranty states and I cannot change that - he said I am going to withdraw my proposal for your workand quot;. Now I ask you, what kind of company who supposedly carries the proper insurance wants the property owner to assume all the risk if that company makes an error in mixing or applying the product. Something is terribly wrong here! One can only wonder if the company knows that there is something that can go terribly wrong with their product and they just don't want any liability after the fact. If they don't have faith in their product then they shouldn't be selling it to the public. And, if they do have faith in their product that it is perfectly safe then they should be able to properly inform and assure their customer that it is safe rather than just to say and quot;I am withdrawing my proposaland quot;. This company wants to sell you their product but does not want to be responsible or accountable for any issues after the fact. I guess they don't have faith enough in themselves to properly mix and apply the chemicals. I would stay away from a company with type of response and policies. Bad business practices in my opinion.

Response from CREATIVE CONSERVATION
It is unfortunate to get a review such as this as I had made concessions in price to get the job. When the owner requested that we change language of the manufacturer's warranty to suit his needs, we felt it was in our best interest to respectfully remove ourselves from this job. We will not change language on manufacturer's warranties to put a potential customer at ease as it would void any warranty. I hope that the owner has found a solution to his insulation problems.

Creative Conservation has a storefront shop in Ashland, VA, which I visited. The staff showed me the different types of insulation and I asked for an appointment for an estimator to come out. I promptly heard back from the estimator and we set a date for the next week. The estimator showed up on time and said he would be sending an estimate soon. I felt that I had to wait a little longer than I expected. It was at least one week later before I received the estimate by email. The estimate was not well-written or explicit which later led to difficulties as I will explain. When I decided to hire this company, I sent a copy of the estimate back with a check for one-half of the amount. This was not required or at least there were no instructions as to how much of a deposit was needed. On receipt of my check, I promptly received a call and the installation date was determined. On the assigned date, two installers arrived on time and began by placing lots of plastic sheeting throughout the area of my house where they would be trekking back and forth removing the old dirty insulation and boards. The workers were polite and considerate as well as careful with my home. The head worker was not aware that the estimator had promised to do work in the 4th attic area and did not have enough product to do the work. This was not his fault. The fault lay with the estimator that I found out had been dismissed from the company. So the head worker called the company to get his manager to decide what to do about the 4th storage area and to get additional insulation for the job. The company was very swift in sending additional supplies and a manager came to the house to look at the 4th space. Because the estimator was at fault, the manager said he would authorize that the 4th space would be included in the original estimate. I thought this was generous. I know that the company did not make as much money as they would have liked. The manager obviously wanted to preserve his company's integrity and I appreciated that he did not question my word or motives. I was also pleased that instead of installing R-19 batting the company used R-30 for the entire job. The estimator had specified R-19. The work took a little longer than anticipated but I thought the men did well to do the entire job in just one additional hour. The men had been delayed by the problems with the estimate but they were efficient in their work and were well-supported by the company reaching a quick solution to these last minute discrepancies. I think it is worth asking Creative Conservation for an estimate when you are shopping for insulation installers.
Description of Work: Removed old insulation and the boards that held up the insulation in four separate attic spaces on the second floor of my Cape Cod-style home. Installed R-30 batting-type insulation and covered the batting with an aluminum-looking sheathing secured with staples and wires. Three of the attic spaces needed insulation against the roof or outer walls of the house, and one attic space needed insulation against an interior wall.

These guys were great! They sprayed foamed my bonus room, approx 550 sqft, with open cell poly foam. They did a fantastic job. They showed up on time, shaved all the walls flush, and did an amazing job cleaning up. I am going to use them again to spray my attic. I would highly recommend this company.

Sprayed over luggage stored on other side of wall and made no effort to cover up, denied when asked for compensation. Needed first time around quite some "touch ups" for gaps in the foam, but promptly provided service to close gaps. Waited at one point in time more than 1 week for them and this held up the building process and made our contractor very unhappy. As recurring customer we got promised insulation of our bath in addition, but was not added in writing to contract, when asked to add, stated is no problem. Of course later did not remember anything. Got threatened when we insisted on verbal agreements and language became very mean. I have now multiple investment properties bought since and will not use them anymore for jobs due to poor business manners.
Description of Work: We did spray foam insulation in all attics of a large residence in Midlothian, 2 different jobs at different times few years back and in early 2010.
