RC Electrical Services

I contacted RC Electrical Services to have a few projects done in my home. Rene Cartagena, the owner promptly responded to my message and came out the next day to give me an estimate. The estimate was great and Rene was able to fit me into his schedule quickly. Rene was fast and completed the projects in two days. The work was professionally done and has enhanced the beauty of my home. I would not hesitate to use RC Electrical Services in the future. I will also recommend Rene to my friends and neighbors.

Rene came with his assistant and installed the panel for standby generator within a day. They were professional in their work; they placed the panel in a sturdy place, installed the outside outlet to hook up the generator and provided 50 foot extension cable. Based on the work they performed we asked for bunch of other work as described above. There was an issue with security light and Rene came back twice to fix the issue without any additional cost. One of the security light would flash when it came on. We returned the light and got a replacement light and it did the same thing. Rene replaced the wiring but same thing happened again. It turned out that the security light was being flashed due to reflection from siding causing its daylight sensor to come on and off. We fixed it by changing the angle of the light to be little bit upwards. Rene also was able to fix an issue with a GFI which was wired wrongly by a paint job guy. He charged me a nominal amount for troubleshooting the issue. I am really happy with the service provide Rene and his assistant

The latest project required was a review/recommendation of electrical repairs required post home inspection review. Rene reviewed and recommended the work to be done and quoted us a fair price. Unfortunately for me, the seller used a different electrician to perform the work, I still had Rene review to ensure it was complete and performed to county code. I recommend him to everyone!

We called RC Electrical Services. Rene, the owner, returned our call promptly. He did a complete analysis of the situation and emailed us an estimate of work to be performed and a diagram. He was courteous, professional and thorough. The process was very timely and was above satisfactory. Communication with Rene was very easy, even from out of state. We would definitely recommend and use RC Electrical Services again.

I have used RC electrical two times, most recently for the 30 amp outdoor outlet and to install a transfer switch for my auxiliary generator about a year ago. Rene is very responsive and does a professional job. I consider him my go to electrician.

Rene did a fantastic job on our basement. His price was much more reasonable than any other electrician we contacted, and he was more knowledgeable of the code requirements. He and his team were very easy to contact and they arrived on time every day they were scheduled to work at our house. They finished the job quickly, and the inspector commented on how professional and high-quality the job was. Rene was extremely patient with us, as it took quite a while for us to finish drywall and painting between rough-in and final, but he was able to come back to finish the job very quickly once we were ready. We were so impressed with his work that we've recommended him to all our friends!

Rene, the owner, was great and I have used him before. He re-wired some fire alarms that are hard wired into our home. He helped organize our electrical panel. He is always punctual and reasonably priced. He seems to know exactly what he is doing all the time.

The job went extremely well. RC provided a timely quote and arrived on time and when scheduled (showing respect for our time). RC was very helpful in helping us design our job and he offered useful suggestions, which we adopted. RC was also very patient as we decided between different options. He was extremely professional, neat and pleasant to deal with. Overall, we were extremely satisfied and will definitely call on RC again for our electrical needs.

Mission accomplished! Purchased the AL deal for $125/2 hours of Electrician's Labor. I opted to apply this towards having 8, wired-in smoke detectors replaced. My home is about 14 years old and the wired-in smoke alarms are equally as old. I learned that smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years and I was a little late on doing so. I went ahead and purchased 8 new alarms from Amazon, ones that closely matched the original alarms. I surveyed the existing alarm installation, figuring it would take a trained electrician all of 15 minutes/per unit to pull the old alarm, replace the base plate and connect 3 wires into the existing wiring. None of the alarms were in placed that a 6ft ladder couldn't reach. I next purchased this deal from RC Electrical to have them installed. Not much else to say really other than... RC communicated with me through Angie's List. RC showed up on-time and on the date requested RC did good work (no issues and tested each alarm after installation) RC didn't try to charge me anything additional. A job well done so they get a perfect grade.

We have a rather urgent electrical situation that needs the attention of a professional. Angie's List notified us of RC Electrical Services and a special they offered for two hours of work for $125. We paid the fee and tried to schedule them only to receive a note a day later that they do not honor the special in our area. In fact, they do not even service our area. There was no indication of his when we paid for their services -- the company came up in our service area -- and it has led to hours of wasted time, a frustrating experience, no resolution to our electrical problem, and questions regarding the efficacy of Angie's List. Angie's List and its vendors should list all conditions up front, or Angie's List should not provide vendors outside of service areas for pre-pay specials. Now we have to figure out the refund process and still find a qualified electrician to solve our problem. RC Electrical Services may be a fine company but in our case they failed completely. They failed to do the job. They failed to notify of us the fact that they do not service our area until after we sent them payment. They failed to help us process a refund, or even direct us to how to process the refund. They failed to list relevant information concerning the limitations of their services on Angie's List despite the fact that the page contained the "fine print" and we read it. The purpose of Angie's List is to make these professional engagements easier, not more difficult. In this case, we are jumping through more frustrating hoops than are necessary.

Installed microwave and fixed few switches.

All went well. Rene and his assistant were neat, clean and quick. He will be installing new light fixtures for us in the near future.

I initially left a message for Rene about my project and he called me back within 1 hour. He was able to come the next day and fit me in because my son had broken the pull chain on the lights and I couldn't turn them off. Rene installed a switch so that this couldn't happen again and installed one more light in the basement. He was fast and professional.

They came and were very good. They did what they were supposed to do.

We don't need the service anymore. RC Electrical Services did promote return calls. I have a good experience with them.

They don't do the type of work that I wanted them to do, so I had to get a refund from Angie's List. I wanted them to put in a cable TV outlet.

This is the second time I used Rene for electrical work. Rene came about half hour late, which was better than many technicians' 4 hour window. He installed a 3 wire 220V outlet for my new electric stove so I did not have to connect open wires any more. He is not talkative but definitely knows what he is doing. I will use him again.
