I needed grading, landscaping, a path made in concrete. Jim was very honest, professional, and helpful with his suggestions. I did not use him for the work because his company does not do concrete work or some of the landscaping I needed done. I will definitely contact Jim for grading and drainage work if needed in the future.

We were exceedingly impressed with Jim Monge's ideas to solve our drainage dilemma for which 3 other experienced drainage people were perplexed as to how to solve. Jim and Mike (owners) and their crew knew what they were doing, did beautiful job, and were a pleasure to deal with. I recommend them highly.

It is increasingly rare to find people who are skilled, ethical and helpful and I was fortunate to work with Jim and Mike for what I needed. Jim was professional and was explained all the details of the work and addressed all my concerns. They take pride in their work which shows in the extra effort they take to make everything good. During winter Jim stopped by when I called to check on everything and that reflects the ownership this company takes in making sure the work yielded the desired results. I just feel bad that it took me close to a year to put in the review but I will recommend them (already have) any day for similar work to others

I contacted Metro Drainage Pros and spoke with partner Mike Wheeler with whom I scheduled a time to meet and discuss the project. Mike asked for a small consulting fee of $40, and for that he was generous with his time and informative, told me what needed to be done to resolve my property drainage issues and approximate costs. I opted not to have Metro do the work, but to attempt as much of it as possible as a summer project with my son home from college, and to save costs. At some point, I am almost certain I will call Metro and Mike again.

This company exemplifies professionalism. Jim met with me and explained clearly the options available for correcting the issue in my yard. He kept the solution simple but effective. The planned implementation date was impacted by the weather, and Jim proactively contacted me to let me know the schedule change in advance of the planned date. I truly appreciate that consideration. Too often companies fail to communicate in this manner and put the impetus on the client to ask for a status. The entire job was completed on time and there was no mess. In fact, on the day of installation, Jim determined that the solution could be scaled back slightly and still be effective. As a result, the cost of the job was actually less than what I had agreed to. He didn't have to do that. That is an example of his business ethics. Unfortunately, we received a substantial amount of rain within days of the installation, which removed the top soil, grass seed, and straw that had been placed onto of the drain. The drainage system itself worked perfectly. I called Jim to tell him what had happened. Within a couple of days he returned and installed sod. Again, that was not something he had to do. I highly recommend this company and would most definitely hire them again.

We called to schedule an estimate. Mike called back and came out for the estimate when he said. The estimate and proposed work sounded good, so we gave a small deposit and scheduled the job. I later called to increase the scope of the work to add a french drain along the house, and they were able to easily do it and gave me a new price on the phone, which was nice, instead of needing to come out and do another estimate. They were able to come a week early and did all of the work in one day including the extra stuff and spread grass seed and straw over everything when they were done. They even gave advice on solving other problems. Couldn't really ask for more.

I had a very favorable experience with Metro Drainage Pros, even though in the end it turned out that I did not use them for services (because my home builder agreed to do the work under their warranty that Metro was going to do). When I called to make an appointment, they called me back within a couple of hours. They scheduled a meeting promptly, and Mike Wheeler showed up precisely on time (actually, slightly ahead of our planned time and I kept him waiting for a good 30 minutes because I wasn't at home when he showed up). Mike was very professional and listened carefully to my explanation of the issues I was trying to solve. He measured the work areas and wrote up a fair estimate on the spot, and gave me an estimated start date. I wrote him a deposit to secure the date on their schedule. A couple of weeks later, after my builder had already taken care of the issues under warranty, I emailed Mike and let him know I no longer needed their services, and that I knew the deposit was non-refundable. Mike was very professional in his response and let me know that my deposit could be applied to future work if I ever needed it. Bottom line- I'll definitely give them a call in the future if I need more drainage work.

From the beginning when I called, Jim kept in touch with me. I was told when Mike came out to give me the estimate that it would be 6 weeks out which was fine but the snow kept coming and each time Jim called and rescheduled. Today they came out and dug trenches to bury 3 downspouts, put in drainage rocks and two water catch basins. They ran the pipes to my brick wall where the water goes into the pipe and out and away from my house. I watched them and they worked steady. The also seeded and put down straw. The yard looks wonderful. Of course it has not rained yet, but they said if I have any problems, to call. I highly recommend this company, not only for there good work but their customer service.

It was a pretty big job and it went great. We had an old drainage pipe that was clay and original to the house that had been compromised by roots. That pipe was replaced with a 6" PVC pipe that was connected to a large catch basin that drains all the dounspouts and other water runoff, They also did a great job with the french drain system connected to the main pipe to help dry out a perpetually soggy yard. They also strategically placed three other catch basins in the yard. They were delayed in starting the job because the weather was not cooperating, but once they were able to start the job, it went smoothly. Jim is great to work with and always responsive. I had gotten four quotes in all and they had the best combination of ideas and professionalism. It has not yet rained hard to test the system fully but I have great confidence that I no longer have to worry about the threat of water in my basement. The price was in the ball park for all the quotes but the Angie's List discount helped even more though it was not the deciding factor. if you have a drainage problem that you seriously want solved, call Metro Drainage.

The entire process, from the initial inspection to the final day, was absolutely perfect. Jim was punctual for every appointment and worked around my busy work schedule. As a bit of do-it-yourselfer I had some ideas for what needed to be done to correct my drainage and grading problems. Jim was happy to discuss my thoughts and provide his suggestions throughout the planning process. Some of the things I wanted to do Jim said were unnecessary, saving almost $2,000. He could have easily agreed and made extra money on the project. Jim was always a phone call away when I had questions before, during, and after the project. His professionalism and honesty gave me the confidence to pay his company thousands of dollars for a drainage system that I would never really see since it?s under the ground. The weather didn?t always agree through the project and again Jim pleased me by being honest and saying that doing the work would damage our yard and be counterproductive. This was another opportunity for Jim to rush the project to move on to his next job and make more money. He didn?t and instead completed the work when he should. I recommend Metro Drainage Pros to everyone I ever talk to that has drainage issues at their house. I have already referred Jim and crew to multiple coworkers and neighbors. Don?t waste time with any other company, save yourself the time and call Metro Drainage Pros.

.I had a very stubborn backyard that would hold water after every rain. Jim came over to evaluate the yard and provide an estimate. Other drainage companies I had contacted wanted to do much larger/complex/more expensive work that I couldn't afford. Lucky for me, Jim came over on a day where it was actually raining pretty hard and he was able to see exactly how and where the water was flowing and pooling in the yard. Because of the unique grade of my yard, Jim was able to save me money by coming up with a custom plan for draining the yard. He also used the excess dirt from digging the new drainage system to re-landscape parts of the yard, including mulching and re-shaping the earth around my trees to look much nicer -- at no extra charge. The river rocks used to assist in drainage in the low part of the yard added a nice aesthetic. Quick turnaround time, especially impressive as they continued to work in inclimate weather (snow storm!) to get the job done. The Angie's List 10% coupon was also very helpful in staying within my budget.

I can't recommend Jim and Mike enough. I had attempted to have this work done by another company and that company left me high and wet. Jim came in providing a complete review of our drainage needs, as well as a review of the work done by the other company. Jim provided me with an excellent recommendation for correcting our drainage problems and even gave me a credit for some of the unfinished work from the earlier contractor. Our job was a three to four day job and was very fairly priced. The typical problem for outside work this time of year was the weather. Unfortunately for Jim and Mike the weather just kept pushing them back. However something very unexpected occurred during these delays; Jim and Mike kept showing up and doing anything that they could do that would keep the job moving forward without damaging my yard or diminishing the quality of the work. I really have not worked with a company that was this determined to do the job right with the least amount of delay possible. I am sure this job ended up costing Metro Drainage Pros more than they bid but there was never a complaint or a question about the proposed cost. They were very clear that a bid is a bid and they would do whatever it takes to delivery a quality product and at the proposed price. I am now looking for other drainage issues that I may have just to have these guys take care of it for me. It is rare to find a company that does such good work and rarer still to find one you can trust completely. I highly recommend Metro Drainage Pros for any drainage solutions that you need.

I wish all the service providers on Angie's list could be as professional and selfless as Jim. He responded immediately to my service request and scheduled an appointment for an estimate and subsequent service. He was punctual and professional, and even when he realized that my work was not within his scope of service, he still spent time to explain what he thought needed to be done. This was a big plus for me since I am more aware of my situation and will be able to speak more intelligently to whomever else responds to my request for service. Never did Jim appear irritated by having to travel a great distance to accommodate an early morning appointment. I am grateful for him and wish that his company could have done the necessary work. I hope I find someone like him to complete the task.

Recently purchased our home and found out that when it rains heavily we end up with ponding of water in the back by the rear door and had water runing down the driveway into the garage. Decided to have Jim from Metro Drainage come out and provide an estimate. After talking with Jim we decided to go with his proposal as it seemed the best out of all of the ones we received. Jim and his crew showed up ontime and worked for several days to install the system. They ran into a bit of a snag with one of the items on the proposal and Jim provided an acceptable workaround. Of course it hasn't really rained as much or as hard since the system was installed (isn't that always the case?!?!), but in the few thunder/rain storms we've had there has been no ponding of water in the back and zero water cascading down the driveway into the garage.

These guys were totally professional and very responsive. We were having trouble with drainage in our lawn and had no idea what to do or even what the problem was. They figured it out and took the time to explain to us what was going on. They dug a trench and installed a drainage pipe and pop-up drain. They were very knowledgeable and even tried to help me with a separate unrelated issue with my sprinkler system. We had scheduled a time for the work to be done but they called me and said they could do it earlier than they had expected. I would highly recommend these guys and will use them again when it comes time to replace our sump pump.

After interviewing providers extensively I decided on Metro. After receiving the estimate from Jim I emailed him a list of questions. He promptly answered with a phone call and addressed all of my queries. At that point I knew I wanted him to do the work so he put me on the schedule which was several weeks out. He and Mike came when scheduled and began what was to be a half-day project. Within a short time they uncovered a problem with an adjoining drain that was not slated to be replaced. I asked them if they could fix it. They took time to investigate how extensive the problem was and gave me an estimate for the additional work. They explained everything that needed to be done and I agreed with their proposal. They did all of the prep work, determined what additional materials they required and then made one trip to get them. They finished by the end of the day and did an excellent job. I was really glad I had chosen Metro and they were well worth the wait. They are knowledgeable, efficient and work well together as a team. They addressed the unexpected problem professionally and completed the job even though it was outside the original scope of work. Very Good, Keep us informed on what they were doing .

The project was outlined very clearly and the installation was straightforward. It was completed in a day. The areas were the soil had been dug up were seeded, leaving the yard very clean and neat with grass growing back in a few weeks. The installation was done over a year ago, so I've been able to observe how well the drain has been working all year round. Most importantly the low lying soggy area near the back of the house is no longer an area where water pools for weeks, instead the water is able to drain more efficiently leaving me with a much more usable back yard. Metro Drainage was extremely professional, they explained in detail how the french drain works, and they were very careful to leave the work site looking clean. I have called Metro Drainage several times since this project was completed regarding future projects and they have been consistently wonderful with how they explain projects. For me they are the company I will always go to for drainage and grading related work.

Recently purchased a new home and there are multiple drainage issues as the yard is not graded properly. I wanted to get an estimate and find out what my options are to remedy the situation. Called to setup an appointment for an estimate, left my contact info but never received a call back. SMH.

I liked working with this company. When Mike came out to do the estimate, he took time to listen to our concerns and educate us. He did not oversell services. He seemed to think that 'hydrojetting' our downspout drains would clear things up so that is what we did. It got the drains unstuck. We will have to see if our lawn drains better after the next big storm. We knew the previous homeowners had put money into a drainage system and we did not want to have our lawn dug up. I wanted to update, it has been one month since the drain cleaning and we have had a number of heavy rains. Our lawn is in great shape as compared to before which would have been standing water and mud! I do not know who performed the original French Drain installation but I am happy that Metro Drainage is able to help us maintain the investment!

Jim and his team do (pretty much) one thing and they do it right. They're professional, responsive, honest, and most off all: experts. ...and their fee was very competitive as well. Don't hire a gardener to do drainage work, hire a true expert.

After some heavy rains I noticed a damp spot (carpet) in the corner of my basement. In that location above ground I have a downspout, and 20 feet away, a sump pump discharge with water flowing in that area due to the property grade. Metro came out within a week of my call, provided a detailed description of the work that needed to be done and provided a reasonable quote. They said I did not need two full french drain systems that would have cost substantially more. The work was scheduled in a timely manner and performed when scheduled. I have a nice lawn (well taken care of) and metro did a fine job returned it to almost original condition....considering the amount of digging they had to do. I highly recommend them and would use them again without hesitation.

My husband and I have had water drainage and basement water problems since we've moved into this house. Even the slightest amount of rain - our stomachs churn from not knowing what's happening in the basement. There is really nothing I can't say about Metro Drainage. From first contact (via email) my phone rang within minutes to discuss our issues. Jim was out for an estimate within two days - and work started within 2 weeks. Metro Drainage is fast, friendly (yet extremely professional) but most importantly - fair. I was kept in the loop the entire process - and even though I know I asked far too many questions (some that were probably very silly) I was never made to feel as though my questions were not important. During the process we found work that had been ATTEMPTED in the past - which clearly made extra work for them - but my quote was never altered and they simply found a way around the issues. I know that if there is ever an issue in the future, Jim & Mike are just a phone call away to come check it out. First time in a long time I'm actually looking FORWARD to a huge rainstorm so I can see my new drainage system in action!!
