In the beginning Roger came out and gave me an estimate for a couple types of fences, split rail, aluminum and a combination of both. He came back with an estimate of approx. $5,000 for an all aluminum fence. I was happy, signed a contract and gave a deposit with credit card. He called the next day and stated he made a mistake and it was going to be another $1,000. I stated I did not want to spend that much and asked for another estimate on the split rail and combination. Roger then came back with an estimate for both but the difference was on $178.00 and I asked if that was correct and pointed out the difference. Roger came back with an apology and stated he made another mistake. I then asked him for a third estimate for the combination and he gave me one of about $4,900 and stated if I paid in cash I could get another 10%. I sent him an email with another signed contract and asked who could I talk to, to get the discount with a credit card as I have been very patient and I thought they should give me the discount with a credit card. I also stated that I will still have the fence installed and if he could schedule the work so not to delay anymore. I never heard back from him so I sent a note to the company after about three days. Barbara answered my note apologized and told me she would forward the note to the sales manager and if I did not hear back in two days come back to her. After three days I sent Barbara a note and told her I did not hear back from any sales manager and could she provide me with the email and phone number from the owner or someone in charge. I stated that I was very frustrated and I absolutely did nothing wrong and just wanted to speak to someone in charge. After two days, I sent another note and said still waiting that was the last I tried to contact them. I would urge anyone thinking of doing business with them to be careful, they came across very friendly but for some reason decided to drop me. It was their estimator that could not get it right and be wary of Roger if you get him I would certainly not trust him or the company for that matter. Terrible experience, stay away from them.

MC Fence has many positive reviews, both here and elsewhere. I will say they were incredibly responsive and seemed knowledgeable about the products they sell. However, the gentleman that they sent out to do our initial estimate read our survey wrong, and told us that the fence would be a much smaller one than we were envisioning, and would involve moving the swing set. When we were confused, the topic of having a resurvey done came up. We had the resurvey done, at a cost of $425. And it came back exactly the same as the prior survey. When we had the estimator back out to look at options, he realized that he had read the initial survey wrong - he had missed that what he thought was a property line was actually a line indicating something entirely different. He admitted it, laughed about it, and acted like it was not a big deal. But....$425 is not a small amount of money. Nor would have been in any way okay if we had had our fence installed based on his initial erroneous reading. The estimator said he would make sure we got a "screaming deal" on the fence in part because of the error he made. But the estimate we got was in no way a bargain when compared with the estimates we then got from other companies. Which is not to say that it was remarkably high - just that it did not reflect the error that was made and the cost of that error to us. We went with another fence company - while I am sure MC Fence would have done a quality install, their lack of concern with the money they cost us and the potential other consequences made us reluctant to use their services.

It went very well. The quote was very reasonable and everything went as planned. We are very happy with the quality of the materials and the work done.

Fabulous. Manuel was very personable and is a fence technician of great experience and expertise. Unquestionably the best fence contractor experience I have ever had. I intend to use MC Fence for all my future dog run and privacy fence work!

They cut the underground cable wire even though it was clearly marked and then took a long time to pay the company the cost to repair it.

Hunter came promptly for an estimate and they were able to price match another estimate. We loved their work putting up our backyard fence a year ago. They were able to schedule and complete it within a week and took a day to do it. Very professional. We had a slight problem getting someone to cone out to adjust one if the gates, but it turns out the person I was calling had been fired. Once I spoke with Jeff, he had someone out to fix it within a couple hours. Great service and great work.

The communication with sales was slower than expected as responsiveness was lacking but work done was quick and professional.

The salesman, KC, who came to assess our fencing needs, was friendly, courteous, frank and low-pressure. He just gave the options and asked questions about what we needed. I had a proposal in several days. We worked out details via email over the next few days and had a final proposal within the week. During this KC sent pictures of various options I asked about, often responding via email within the hour. The work was to be completed in a day near the end of the following week. The materials were delivered to the work site several days before the project began. The work began on Friday but they ran out of boards near the very end of the project and end of the work day. The work was completed the following Monday. The crew arrived perhaps 8am Friday to install the fence. KC was there as well to introduce me to the crew and get things started before he left. The crew quickly set to work dismantling the old fence. They were impressively fast. They worked diligently all day long setting the new posts, building the new gates and attaching the fence boards. I had some interactions with the crew as I wanted them to use the old hardware I had removed from the previous gates and checked on the work several times during the day. They were friendly and courteous and always working hard. The only issue had to do with replacing the gates. The proposal stated existing gates would be replaced with the same size gates. When all the new posts were put in I noticed posts for the gates were about half as far apart as the original gates. I brought this to the attention of the foreman whose initial response was to keep telling me why it would be good to have smaller gates. When I persisted and showed him pictures of the original gate openings and explained why we needed the larger openings, he agreed to change the post locations and build the larger gates as specified. I was a little disappointed that the gates were going to be too small and that I had to convince the foreman that I really did want them the original size. Otherwise, I was very impressed with the integrity of the crew and their commitment to customer satisfaction. For example, they were happy to change out a few boards at the very end of the project when my wife saw some black marks she didn’t like on the ones next to our entry gate. Bottom line is I can highly recommend MC Fence! Thank you to everyone at MC Fence for the great work.

Removed 100ft of old wood fence, hauled it away & installed the new fence all in half a day. Excellent team work & solid! Will definitely use them for any upcoming work!

While we're still happy with the overall quality of our fence, we've had several problems arise. Even with a special permit from our county zoning board, the fence is too tall. We bargained for a fence that is 6' or 7' tall depending on its location. What we got was a fence that is several inches (between 1" and 4") higher than those maximum heights in certain places. We are quite disappointed with that result. The county gave us some time to get it corrected. We contacted MC Fence in an attempt to have them correct their inaccurate measurements but were given the run around from the get go. It was remarkably difficult to get in touch with the right person (the sales manager), in part because they did not understand our request, and in part because they weren't returning our calls in a timely fashion. They claim to have been doing this for years and know the county codes but their actions prove otherwise. (Our county measures maximum fence height from the lowest point of the grade.) After we explained the situation, they offered us two options: (1) pay them another $1500 to trim the fence to an acceptable height; or (2) $350 for dirt to make the ground higher in an attempt to make the fence shorter when measured. Option 1 is laughable in light of the original cost of the fence, and the fact that the measurement was MC Fence's error. Option 2 is even worse -- the zoning ordinance even makes reference to that type of action. We said we expected it to be done at no cost as we paid for a 6' fence (and 7' in the back yard) and no higher. The sales manager said, they gave us 6' boards and that's what we paid for. But, in our sales contract, it specifically says we wanted a 6' fence with a capboard, etc. -- meaning the finished product would be 6', no higher. Why are we expected to pay for their mistake when they're the experts in building fences and knowing the various county codes? We took some time to consider those options, and called the sales manager directly to discuss further. We left him a voicemail, and he never returned our call. BUYER BEWARE! While the fence is nice, we certainly don't appreciate it being built too high. Please be aware of your county code and how the fence is measured so that you can ensure MC Fence does it right. They certainly won't help you after doing it wrong in a county that is a stickler for the rules. MC Fence's customer service is the most disappointing part of this situation. They were so eager to make the sale, but then unwilling to do anything within reason to address an issue of their creation. They didn't respond quickly, got very mean when we were trying to explain the situation, and just plain ignored us when we tried going higher than the sales manager. We'd recommend using another company... they may have a good price but their poor workmanship could lead to major problems in the future.

Communication with MC Fence was top notch. They showed up and did their job on time. When I needed a call back to fix a few things not to my satisfaction, the company had a positive attitude and wanted to make sure I was pleased. The crew came back out a few days later and fixed the issues I had called about. I recommend MC fence and would use them again.

Mike Colwell and his company MC fence is the best! The fence his company installed the first day I moved into my house is still one of my favorite additions, until now that is! Less than a week after I called Mike to give me guidance on making my deck handicap accessible for my dog, I have the most, beautiful, high quality, no maintenance “addition” to my house! From the inside my tiny cottage looks twice the size and I know my friends and I will now get to enjoy my peaceful yard even more. I can’t thank you enough for the speed, professionalism and great work of your company and all your employees.

Great experience. Set up estimate with KC and received information before he left our house. Easy process to sign-up and give deposit. Crew was very friendly and worked hard (even with the wind making it feel a lot colder).... Showed up and was done in about 8 hours. Small hiccup with final invoice, but this was resolved. Highly recommend them for a great experience - start to finish. Hunter loves his yard!

Job went fine, warranty work or trying to get is done was unprofessional.

Install was OK. But almost every board has warped or cracked. Trying to get them to do the repairs was a huge pain.

Went well. Took several weeks for them to get the correct color of fence to match but the install was great. The guys even tuned up some unrelated problems to the fence. Cleaned up completely too!

I could not have been happier with MC Fence. The process went exceptionally smooth. Their communication was excellent. The installers were friendly, informative and showed up on time! I got several estimates and they were extremely competitive, with a superior product. I would definitely recommend MC Fence and use them again.

Good. Work was quickly scheduled and stared a few days later. Work was started and finished in a single day, and was done in a workman like manner. No complaints. I can't rate price/value because I did not get other quotes.

The workers did an excellent job even with an unexpected delay because the compression machine broke down. The job was completed over two days as a result of the breakdown. In any case, the workers were very efficient, left my place clean and picked up after they finished the job. I would highly recommend them.

The first call to have a quote made went without an issue. They very quickly responded and provide me with a written quote on the spot. Since this was being installed at a new house, we had to wait for closing, which was approx end of April. Since the initial install date (4/27) was scrubbed due to rain, which I appreciate, we could never get a solid date locked down. Finally, I was able to have them install it on Mothers day (5/8). However, they could not install the entire fence (WHAT!) since the portion where the double gate goes is "Still in production" Now, let's think about that for a second. The original install date was on the 4/27, which they should have had all the parts to for a full install The push date due to weather was 5/8, which all the parts should have STILL be there however, for some unknown reason they were not. I'm not sure how that happened or why, but it did. Okay - so the remaining part of the fence was installed somewhere around the 18th or 19th of May. Sorry, don't know the specific day. However the double gate had one second approx 4 inches higher than the other side, so the gate was horrible looking. The workers showed up that day, saw they were there, was alerted by the fellow building the deck they were there and I went out to great them. When they were done, just disappeared without saying a word. And leaving the gate in a horribly installed condition. To flash back to the original install (5/8) the install, foreman I guess came to the front door, verified what was going to be completed and explained what was going to occur. Also, he touched base with me before he left to make sure I was happy. So, at this point (5/18) I have a functional fence installed and 2 functional gates, however the dual-gate is installed incorrectly. I notified the people of MC Fence and advised them of the issues. It seems that someone would be out in a couple of days to correct the issues. Here are the issues: - The left door on the double gate is apprx 6 inches higher than the door on the right. (yes, there is a very shallow 2 inch drop in the ground grade from the left door to the right door, but not 6 inches. - Several of the caps on the tops of the posts blew off in the various weather events we have had, since they were not glued down. - the flashing on the door gates, had approx 3 inches of exposed space, which allowed those cover pieces to pop-out due to wind. After calls and calls, to yes, a very nice front office lady, Barbara, I finally got all the issues corrected. However it took well over a month and replying to emails about my outstanding balance to have them actually correct the installation issues. Also, I was told at least once, that someone went out the day prior and fixed the issues, I had to say no. I know that Mike (I think), who I'm not positive who that is, came out and took pictures of all the issues and confirmed they were issues and needed to be resolved. In the end they we all resolved. Just not a easily as I feel they should have.
