Looney's Tile & Grout

Mike Looney did a great job. It was easy to reach him for an appointment that worked with my schedule, and he arrived right on time. I wasn't sure what needed to be done, so he provided a phone estimate after asking me questions about the shower and tile. I appreciated the fact that he assessed needs when he actually saw the shower, and took care of everything that needed work (not just what I thought needed work). For instance, he also needed to completely remove, fix, and replace the shower door. Ended up costing less than the estimate, and with more things adjusted and fixed.

This group of men, Michael, Freddy, and David, were professional, kind, courteous, considerate, and hard working. They covered my floors from the front door to the bathroom, they worked without stopping for 2 days, and then cleaned up after themselves each time. They got the job done in less than a week from the time I first contacted Michael. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

see box above. Since I prepared twice for his visit that didn't gtake place, I would not try for a third time. Also, giving an estimate by photo is not equivalent to seeing the job in person.

The ceramic tile floor in our kitchen was installed poorly be the previous owner and several of the tile were very loose. In addition, the thinset was showing through on some tiles and they had used the wrong color grout to try and repair it. Michael took up all the loose and broken tiles, scraped out all the thinset that was showing through. He reset and replaced the tiles and regrouted the areas of the floor that were mismatched. He professionally cleaned all the grout and tiles as well as recaulking the backsplash. The work involved more time than expected but Michael stayed and worked very late - well after dinner - to complete the job with no charge for the late work. The new grout matches exactly with the original and you can not tell what he redid versus what is original work.

Overall it went well. Would I use them again? Yes. I would just be more on-top of them, as they were very responsive to requests when made. Two comments: 1. Because they hadn't alerted us to "dry out" the shower stall--i.e. don't use it beforehand so that the caulk and grout would hold, they worked around it. They did most of the work on the scheduled day and then came back two days later to finish up the final grouting/cauking. 2. During initial work, there was a lot of dust generated because they had to grind the old caulk/grout out. It took me at least 30 minutes to clean it up/get rid of the dust after they left before we could use the room.

They were nice, pleasant and courteous.

They were on time and worked for a reasonable price. Every single phase of the project was excellent. I will have them come back and re-grout all the bathrooms in my house as soon as I can.

I contacted Mr. Looney because grout was missing in areas all over the kitchen floor. He set up a time to come and arrived on time even though it was snowing outside, alone so his employee did not have to drive that day. Surveying the whole floor visually and by tapping to see if any tiles were loose, he found all the areas that needed new grout and filled them in and found two loose tile sections. And when he pulled up those tiles he discovered spongy material, suitable for hardwood but not tile, under the tile and told me that was the cause of the missing grout, because if the tiles had been installed with a mud-like base, the grout would never have broken up. Fortunately I had replacement tiles and the grout. The fact that he came alone told me he is responsible and understanding, and in talking with him and seeing the work he did I learned how knowledgeable and competent he is and wish he had installed my tiles.

From beginning to end this was a most professional company. The appointment was easy to make. They arrived precisely on time although my home was some distance from their office. They cleaned a 15 year old ceramic floor that had only been professionally cleaned once before. The results were wonderful. I never thought it could look that good again. Both Mr. Looney and his assistant are very friendly and professional. I thought the cost was reasonable for the job which took almost 2 1/2 hours. Grout repair was perfect. Would hire again.

Mike provided a written estimate; they were punctual and pleasant. Mike uncovered a problem under a bathroom tile floor and spent many extra hours fixing it without charging extra. As the work progressed, I requested that he do several more small grout and caulking jobs, and he only charged $100 extra for all of them.

The whole job was done in about 2 1/2 hours, including clean up. I was well pleased with the work done.

Michael is extremely pleasant to deal with and very responsive. He was very punctual on the day we scheduled the service. He was careful to not get our home dirty and he finished the work quickly, but most importantly - with a focus on good quality work. He also was very communicative in explaining all the details of the work, prevention, etc. We discussed a future project to make some further improvements.

Michael was a true professional from the start. He arrived promptly for every meeting, explained the work he was going to perform and why he was doing it, performed the work he said he would within the timeframe he estimated, and was geninuely passionate about his work. And his estimates were accurate, so there were no budget surprises. He regrouted and retiled part of our master shower, which the original remodeler had grouted poorly, and then recaulked all four of our bathrooms. We were so pleased with his work that we hired him to replace tile and regrout the bathrooms in my parents' home. We would definitely recommend Looney's to others.

Spoke with Mike in regards to having the ceramic tile in my kitchen and bathroom cleaned and sealed. Mike and Mo showed up on time and did an excellent job. I was very happy with the outcome and Mike is a true professional. I would definitely use his services again.

Mr. Looney cleaned our kitchen floors. The grout was black and the tile was a dark beige before he began. When Mr. Looney was finished with the floors, the tile grout was white and you could see the pattern in what was really a light beige tile. He did a tremendous job! And we are extremely pleased with his work. This was the third time we used him for title and grout services. Within the past three months we've asked him to do work on a couple of our bathrooms. Each time his work has be exemplary. He arrived on time and performed the work within the 3 hour timeframe he estimated. When he was done, he cleaned up behind himself and left the home, the way he found it. He is extremly professional and a pleasure to have in our home.

Mr. Looney was professional and prompt in all respects... estimate, explaining process, arriving and completing work, care for house and furniture. He also did a sample area for approval before starting on the entire job.

Michael came out and gave us a free estimate. He was very friendly and punctual. He answered every question and advised us on the best way to address our kitchen floor. Later, he came back and cleaned our kitchen floor and re-grouted a lot of problem areas that we inherited from the previous owner. Now our kitchen floor looks brand new, whereas before Michael it had been so bad that we considered tearing it out entirely. He was so effective and helpful and fair-with-his-pricing that we are hiring him to do some work in our bathrooms.

The service provided was done with excellence was reasonably priced and made our shower look brand new.

Michael Looney performs miracles! I am getting ready to put my house on the market and am decluttering and renovating. One of my bathrooms was in poor condition, ravaged by years of wear and tear by kids. The grout was missing from many places and tile was loose and cracked. After Michael completed his work, the bathroom tile and tub look brand new. The tub, grout and tiles are sparkling clean and fresh. I did not think that the bathroom would ever look this great--yep, Michael performs miracles. Michael works neatly and efficiently and is friendly, honest, and professional. I would hire him again and highly recommend Looney's Tile and Grout Restoration.

Did a great job in the bathrooms but the kitchen was average and the job took too long to complete.

To begin with in a 5-week period we had over 12 trades people come in and work on various repairs and updates in our home. Michael Looney, by far, was the most professional, on-time, true to his word and did an "All Star-Job". The noted bathrooms were 17-years old being used by a family, including teenagers--they were not pretty, by the time Micheal finished with them they were in new prestine condition. We live in our kitchen and the tile backsplash tiles were in good shape, but grease covered tiles and discolored grout was a major problem--by the time the job was done--it was better than when the tile looked new! Thje job had to be worked around other contractors and it was no problem. As any renovation job goes--we had a breadth of quotes from all new tiles to scrub and clean it your self. The self-clean option was not working. The new tile option was priced anywhere from $4500-$6800--our budget could not support that. Looney's Tile and Grout Restoration came in and presented all the facts to what should be done, how it was going to done, and exactly how long the job was going to take. They lived to their word and exceeded our expecations. We are going to have them come back this summer and complete carpet cleaning and other floor cleaning. Without hesitation I recommend them for tile and grout restoration, deep cleaning and floor maintenance. I have worked around trades people my whole life, and if they were all like Looney's Tile and Grout Restoration--life would be simple. Thanks for the great service.

We contacted Mr. Looney as a result of Angie's List ratings. He arrived at the time that we agreed to for an estimate. We were pleased with his professionalism and expertise so we contracted with him to complete the work in our 1950's subway tile bathroom. He came back on the designated date and time. He worked non-stop for about 5 hours removing old grout and replacing it with new grout, and cleaned up all the debris. He came back another day (again on time) to seal the grout, and re-caulk other areas. Again he worked non-stop and cleaned up all debris. We were very pleased with Mr. Looney's work and appreciate the fact that he did the work himself.

Micheal really knows his crafts! The finished work product was awesome! he also provided an educational overview explaining how tile and grout goes bad and provided me compressive tips on prevents main term.
