Looney's Tile & Grout

I purchased the coupon for two hours of tile/grout service. Martha called back within two days. She left a message, and when I forgot to call her back by the next day, she followed up with me again. She came out later that week to do a free estimate. She walked me through the existing problems with our bathrooms, and explained in detail what they would be doing. When we were done looking at the bathrooms, she sat down and calculated the total cost, and we scheduled a time for the work to be done (about three weeks later). Michael called the day he was scheduled, and offered to come two hours early if it was convenient for me (which it was). When he arrived he walked through the bathrooms with me again, and started work immediately. He was friendly, professional, and did a great job. When I explained that one of my kids was napping, he tried to be as quiet as possible. He ended up being here for about five hours. I would highly recommend this company. Martha and Michael were both great to work with, and I will definitely be using them again to keep our caulking and grout looking good.

I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience with Martha & Michael has been. Working with Martha to schedule appointments and get the estimate done was a breeze. As a busy household with two working parents I really appreciated that they were always on time and we got reminder calls in advance of each appointment. When Michael came to do the work he was pleasant and clearly knowledgeable about his craft. In addition to explaining what he was doing and why he used the materials he did, he went through options when we discovered some unexpected water seeping from behind a shower tile. He made sure the job was done right, colors matched perfectly and the issue resolved - even came back early one morning (at no additional cost to us) before his usual appointments to get the last of the caulk installed because he didn't rush, wanted to be sure the grout was dry so we wouldn't have any problems or leaks down the road. Our bathroom looks great! They are a great local, family-owned business and I will use them again or recommend them to others in a heartbeat.

It was a good experience, they did a great job. They were punctual, professional, and hardworking so we were pleased with their service. We had them do more work than the Big Deal purchase and we were willing to pay the price. They are the only company we have used for this kind of work.

From the time I first contacted Looney's I was impressed. They got back to me very quickly, were professional and thorough. I had already gotten 2 prior estimates for this job. One was 4 times more money and one was a mere 2 times more than Looney. I knew that was too much. Looney's gave me a very realistic cost. They showed up on the promised date/time and did the job fantastically. 15 year old grout, never sealed initially, and they cleaned it like new, even very dirty areas. When I get ready to sell my home in 5-6 years, I will call them again befgore I put it on th emarket to make the floors shine like they do today.

I bought a service through a Angie List's Big Deal for caulk or grout repair. I was promptly contacted after I purchased the service and an appointment was scheduled. The work was performed to my high standards and in a timely manner. I have since used Looney's for another project. I would recommend them.

We originally received an estimate for the work listed above, plus replacement of lower tiles in the shower that had water seepage behind them in the wet-board. Tiles of the original size are no longer available, so we opted not to replace any, but just to regrout, re-caulk, and seal. The Looneys were willing to work with us in changing the original work order on short notice, and Mike (and his helper)did an excellent job in both bathrooms. We would definitely use them again, and I have already recommended them to a friend.

My shower had water damage and mold had started growing from water seeping in behind loose tiles. Looney's was prompt and very professional in helping me decide whether to replace all or part of the tiles. I decided to just have them redo where the problem was. They arrived on time, removed the old tiles and drywall in the affected area, installed new cement board (not drywall like the builders), new tiles, and replaced the grout in the entire shower with a higher-quality product. I am very pleased with their work and highly recommend their family-owned company. I would definitely use them again.

Mrs. Looney was very apologetic when she told me that they do not service DC residences.

The customer service and quality of work was exceptional. Our shower caulking now looks as good as new. Will be using Looney's again for any future tile work.

Looney's did a great job, very professional. We couldn't have been more pleased. From setting up the appointment to the follow-up after the job was done, Looney's provided great communications. The shower looked like a brand-new shower when the job was completed.

I purchased the $99 Big Deal for two hours of kitchen or bathroom caulk and grout restoration. I think that the company did a great job. They are totally professional and I would use them again. They first came out and did an estimate, so I knew what price to expect but I did feel that the price was a little expensive. However, due to the great customer service I was willing to pay more. The only little issue that I had was the wording on the Big Deal, it reads two hours of caulk and grout restoration and from the estimate it doesn't seem like you can caulk AND grout a bathroom in two hours. But, having the estimate beforehand takes care of this little issue. Again, I would use their service and recommend it to others.

I purchased a 'big deal.' Mr. Looney personally came to inspect work to be done; then gave me an estimate and arranged mutually convenient time to do the work. On the agreed day, Mr. Looney arrived with an assistant Rich. Both worked in their socks, were efficient, pleasant and cleaned up afterwards. I've always prided myself as a good cleaner; Mr. Looney said he was a professional cleaner--he and Rich are first rate. After they finished the job, they provided me advice on simple non-caustic products to keep the tile/grout clean. I'm very pleased with the work and would definitely recommend them. My bathroom is better than new.

Just can't ask for a better experience from a contractor. Fully professional. Flexible in accommodating requests. The Looney's are just downright nice folks.

Totally pleased. Mrs Looney came out before the job and walked through what we wanted done and drew up a plan. She emailed and called with the date and time and what any overage would be if we went overtime on the 2 hour limit from the Angies list discount. Mr Looney arrived right on time, was friendly , a really nice guy, and checked out both bathrooms for work to be done and set about working. He cleaned all the cracked broken stained grout around one tub in our 2nd bathroom, cleaned out all the cracked grout from the master shower and along the floor and tub of the master, and the master toilet. He then grouted all the areas with new grout, even changing the color in the master bathroom to match the decor. He cleaned up all areas and left it sparkling. I had arranged that we would pay any overtime but the work was done withint the time limit of the Angies discount but having been a homeowner for many years I never knew that grout is better replaced every 5 years or so, to prevent leaks and so we will definetly use Looneys again. We highly recommend their work.

I purchased some caulk to replace the grout where the tip of the tile will be backsplash with the countertop. So he cleaned out all the old grout that was chipping away and put down the caulk in with the grout and cleaned up. He's very clean, neat, very courteous, very prompt and I'm very satisfied with the service. It was an exceptional service. They contacted me right away when I purchased the Big Deal and they followed up prior to the appointment time and then they followed up the day when they would be there. They were there on time and left the house clean. They also gave professional advice.

Emailed for an estimate and was contacted right away.... Which was great because we needed BIG TIME HELP! Mrs. Looney came out right away and gave us a very reasonable estimate, was very kind and climbed right in that nasty shower to take a close look at what we might need :) Mr. Looney came right on time (even a little early to accommodate my schedule) and worked extremely hard to get my shower usable! He was knowledgeable & professional and did an amazing job removing and replacing the caulk. Had some good advice for getting another year out of a very outdated shower and the price was worth every penny. Their work was much appreciated- already referred to my friend-- everyone thinks they can do their own caulk until they see a professional job... Just call!!

Really enjoyed Mike and Martha... and, more importantly, happy with the work. While there is still some work to be done, the work that has been completed looks great. We have had our share of issues with contractors, so it was nice to have a good experience and up with good work. We definitely recommend their services.

They were extremely professional, courteous, and friendly. In order to properly layout the mural, they came out to the house prior to the installation days (without being asked to). They were exactly on time and did not exceed their cost estimate even though the job took one-half day longer than expected. They protected all surfaces from our front door all the way through the kitchen. Upon completion each day, they thoroughly cleaned the job site and removed the plastic covering from our carpeting. Their workmanship was outstanding!

As punctual as a clock. As professional and as pleasant as all get out. Work done on time as described with nothing but a smile. I'm recommending Mike to my neighbors. I wish half of my contractors were half as pleasant and expert.

Michael was very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. Each time he was punctual, showing up at the exact time we agreed to, not a 4 hour window. I had a minor concern with the caulking in one bathroom. Once it dried it looked like there was a small gap. I sent Michael an email about it and he quickly responded. He was genuinely concerned about the work being done right and to my satisfaction. He came back the next morning to apply more caulking. The bathrooms look wonderful.

We had our master bathroom shower serviced by Michael. We moved into the house 4 years ago and over the years the grout and caulk deteriorated and started to stain. We were looking to get the shower looking brand new again. Michael did a wonderful job. The shower looks like it has never been used. If you have a bath or shower that is heavily used and over the counter cleaning products are not doing the job ... call Michael and he can make it look it is brand new. This is a local business that really values customer service. Michael is always available via phone and email (email being super helpful for me).

My house is going on 7 years old, and areas of the grout had cracked and become moldy in areas hit most by water. I initially hired Mr. Looney to replace the grout & re-caulk the shower, but after he got started there was water behind the bottom row of tile which needed to be replaced. Fortunately for me he had all the supplies, plus extra tiles so nobody had to make a run to the hardware store. Mr. Looney showed me the damage, explained the whole process, and he & Freddy worked diligently throughout the whole day to finish the work. They were both so pleasant, very professional, and worth every penny because my shower looks better than brand new!

Mike and Freddy were great. They were punctual, straightforward and fun to deal with. I'll use them again for sure.

During my initial phone conversation with Mike regarding the work I wanted done, I knew I had found the right company. His professionalism, expertise, and passion were not hard to miss even over the phone. An appointment was immediately scheduled for Mike to conduct an inspection of the master bathroom, kitchen, and sitting/living room. After he completed a thorough inspection, we discussed the work to be performed and Mike provided a detailed estimate of the cost. Two days later Mike and his team (Fredi and David) arrived to complete the work which entailed: regrouting the master bathroom shower and separate toilet area, recaulking entire bathroom, deep cleaning the tiles and grout in the master bathroom, kitchen, and sitting/living room; regrouting three kitchen floor tiles; and sealing the grout in all of the aforemenioned areas. The quality of the workmanship was excellent and they completed the job in one day. This is a special team whose work ethnic sets the bar for others to emulate.
