The work crew was extremely polite and professional. They arrived on time and did an excellent work. They were VERY clean while working in the house. I will definitely use them again for other projects.
Description of Work: I purchased a deal for 8 hours of painting for $300. It was very easy to get a work date scheduled, any questions I had were very quickly answered over email. I had exterior shutters and two exterior doors painted.

I was in need of a painter on short notice to paint two bedrooms, before listing it for sale. Angie's List was able to contact the owner to ensure availability prior to me purchasing the deal. The owner Bismark Lopez was very responsive and accommodating. He also was able to help me get a reduced rate on my paint. Wow! He had his guy early on the day specified. Very professional, courteous, punctual, and on top of all that did AN AMAZING JOB! One of the rooms had a crazy blue color that he was able to cover just fine. I would highly recommend....and I already have to anyone! What a pleasant surprise in this competitive environment. Thank you Lomar Paint....and also Bismark Lopez!! You saved the day. P.S. The painter also was kind enough to replace a battery in a chirping smoke detector for me! What a nice guy!

Lomar Paint helped me to quickly take care of insulation, drywall, and paint work made necessary by water damage. Bismarck (I believe the owner) was very responsive to my inquiry about availability and pricing. He had a professional out to conduct the work that afternoon. When the plumber (not Lomar) unexpectedly needed more time, Bismarck worked with me to reschedule completion of the work for the next day. The work itself is well done and complete.

I called Lomar Painting and talked with the owner, Bismarck, about how many painters and how much time would be needed to get all of our painting completed at our new house. He was very helpful and when we realized that we needed an additional room with high ceilings painted, he agreed to send an extra guy over on fairly short notice. The painters were scheduled to arrive between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. and they arrived just before 8:00. I was very impressed with their punctuality since the weather was very icy that morning. We had four painters scheduled to come and everyone was very polite and professional. The team got to work quickly and painted a substantial amount of our house in one day. It would have taken me and my husband more than a week to get that much painting done! We were thrilled with the quality of their work. We'd absolutely use them again.

Communicated through Angie's List, to figure out which deal I would need to complete my project. Bismarck responded within a few hours. By that evening we decided on the $300 deal and Bismarck scheduled it for the next morning. The schedule was tight, so after I provided the desired paint brand, type, and color, they were able to order and pick up the paint from Home Depot. The worker showed up on time. He worked quickly and without issue. At the end of the day he was able to accomplish the entire project: Spackle sand Paint - ceiling, Walls (2 coats), trim (a door frame, a window, baseboards, and 3 doors and clean-up Honestly the entire project went exceptionally smooth and was well worth it. I am planning on using them to paint my Master Bedroom later this year.

Bismarck was fantastic. I found him via Google, and scheduled an appointment to have him come and provide me an estimate. He was quick thorough, and got along fantastic with my dog. His estimate came a day later, as he knew I was in a time-crunch to get the paint done. He suggested using Sherwin Williams paint, so we picked out a color and sent him the information. His crew picked up the paint and showed up perfectly on time. They brought in their supplies, and got to work immediately. I left for work, and came back that evening and the full main floor was done. When they arrived to work for the second day, I threw a small curve ball and asked them to paint a previously unmentioned column in the house, and he agreed quickly. By the 2nd evening, everything had been completed and the house looked amazing. I had the biggest smile on my face when I came home. They moved furniture to get to the walls, and the furniture had been moved back to the exact spot it came from, I couldn't even tell it had been moved. I had such a good experience I hired him again to do touch-ups after my disaster of a hardwood floor installation had happened, and will hire him again to touch up ceilings and re-paint all my white trim! Would recommend again and again!
Description of Work: I asked them to paint the walls (not trim) of the main floor, including the two story entry way, the staircase, and the second floor. Bedrooms were not included. I did request that they remove outlet covers and paint behind them, rather than around.

We would recommend Lomar Painting without reservation. They painted the ceilings and trim throughout our house, as well as the walls in our family room (a room that has eighteen foot ceilings). They were selected for the job after a competitive bidding process among four of the highest rated painters on Angie's list. They were chosen on the basis of the price proposed and the confidence they gave us that they could do the job well. The job took five days; Lomar had two to five painters on the job each day. The team arrived promptly at 8:00 every morning and worked throughout the day until after 5:00 pm. Each day they cleaned up their work and left the house presentable until the next day. The work included patching and plastering and then two coats of paint on the walls, ceilings and trim. Six different colors of paint were used. The painters consulted with us throughout the job to be sure that we were happy with the work. After the fourth day, we prepared a punch list of work required to finish the job and on the last day all items on the list were completed. The painters themselves were very pleasant to work with. We couldn't be more pleased with the finished product. The house looks very fresh and clean and the caliber of work is first class. Our thanks to Lomar Painting for a job well done.

The painter arrived exactly at 8 AM as scheduled. He completed the work quickly, and did a very nice job. His work was neat, edging was almost perfect, and he worked very quickly. In one 8 hour day, he took one short lunch break and was able to complete the ceilings and walls in all three bathrooms. I plan to have more painting done in the future, and will definitely call this company again. My only concern, had this been a complicated job, was his lack of English language skills. For this we were able to communicate fine, but I would be concerned if the job had required more communication or more complex communication.
Description of Work: The agreement was to paint two bathrooms that had been recently renovated, and to do whatever was possible in the third bathroom if there was time remaining. Painting included walls and ceiling, minor drywall prep/repair, but no sills or door trim.

Thank you for the positive review and we are glad you are pleased with the result. For a quick job like this, as well as any job, the painters are fully aware of the scope of work and what needs to be done. They are not authorized to make any changes, but should any changes or issues arise, there is immediate communication with Bismarck, the owner. On bigger and more complicated jobs, there is always a foreman present at the job site.
Fabulous! A beautiful paint job and the entire process was smooth and professional.

Overall, the quality of the work was excellent. I purchased a big deal for $300 for an Interior Painter for a Day. Evidently, the job needed a second painter. At the end of the day, I asked the painters if everything is settled, they said yes. I left them with a large tip, as they spent a little longer at my house cleaning up and putting furniture back. I then received an email from the company asking for more money. I did end up paying the $225 additional, and felt that overall I got what I paid for in terms of the work and quality.

Thank you for the review and my men thank you for the $20.00 tip you gave them. You hired us for 8 hours worth of work. When my employee arrived and saw you wanted a 2 level foyer going up with an upper landing so we knew this task would take more than the 8 hours scheduled. Rather than working the 8 hours then leaving an unfinished area in a customer's home, I sent another worker to help complete the the requested job. This way, the job was fully completed within a day. I was sure not to overcharge. I fairly charged the exact total of man hours worked, not two full days of work for two workers. I am pleased you are so happy with the end result of our work.

Not only did they do a great job, but this was based on a last-minute request. I was in a pretty desperate situation, in need to get paint on the walls before all of my flooring went down. When I turned to Angie's list, I found the deal for Lomar Painting's $300 for a painter for the day. I signed up for it and talked to Bismarck within an hour. Not only was he able to confirm an appointment, but he worked with me after 5:00 that day to get a painter for the very next morning. The painter that he sent was prompt, courteous, and a hard worker. Normally I would do all of this type of work myself, but I just didn't have time and I'll tell you what, having some professional help was a breath of fresh air. He did so well that I even asked him to stay and work some overtime, hence the extra $110. I absolutely recommend Lomar Painting to anyone in the area. I'll have some more painting to do in the future and I definitely plan on coming back to them for assistance.
The painters arrived on 9/2/2014 to begin the job. While the contractor, Bismarck, is very personable and agreeable, when he leaves, his people seem to have language difficulties and although appearing to understand whatever you say, they simply continue doing what they were doing that which appeared to us to be a problem. Bismarck only will come by to inspect if you indicate to him that you have a problem and you request it and even then he may not bother. We have dozens of e-mail back and forth including pictures that we have taken showing some of the problems that we have seen. We feel that the painters generated many unprofessional features either deliberately or through lack of experience. The problems that we have include dented aluminum siding, paint on brickwork and other areas that shouldn?t have been painted. To us, it seemed to be a sloppy and non-professional job by painters who work for a contractor that is rated ?A? on Angie?s List and ?A+? on the Better Business Bureau. It also seemed to us that the contractor didn?t have any control over his people and they were just doing what they felt like doing. One instance that we noted was when we showed him a window that had paint over the glass that had been spread around in an attempt to clean it up, he then got a bottle of glass cleaner and went to the painters and told them to clean it up, giving them the bottle. It never got used and that window was still paint messed up when they finished When they removed screens, they just left them lying on the ground. We also found a number of the rubber strips that were on the bottom of the windows were just discarded on the ground In fairness to the painters, they were working on a very hot day with the temperature up in the nineties. We were very surprised that they were going to work on such a day. The following day was just as bad. But we felt that they were the ones that should know what temperatures would affect the job. At one point, the painters lost the protective boot on the top of a ladder but just kept using that ladder even after we tried to tell them that the boot was on the ground. This probably caused many of the more serious dents on the siding. Very little work was done in preparation as far as we could see. They didn?t use tape and drop cloths to keep paint droplets or brush strokes from brick work and other areas. The only places that we saw that were protected by drop cloths were the garage doors and the front and back porches. Even then, they still splattered paint on the decks as well as onto the covers for the grill and table and chairs. We never saw any place where tape was used to protect adjacent areas. This was especially noticeable where the trim being painted was next to the brickwork on the front porch. Bismarck claimed that pressure wash would remove the hand prints, etc. and told us to have it done and he would come back to see the results but he never came back again. The pressure washing that was supposed to clear up the problems but actually unmasked more problems such as more of the ladder dents. He said that the people that he used for pressure washing didn?t work in our area but when we went to Angies List, we found that his company claimed that they were a pressure washing contractor. When we asked him about it, he said that he thought that we would not be happy if he did the washing. The pressure washing exposed many areas of dents on the aluminum siding. But, pressure washing did not remove the hand prints that the painters had left on the siding. The painters were using their hands and finger nails trying to remove paint spots off siding, even going through the siding surface and exposing the aluminum underneath that now reflects the sun. They also painted the window trim without sanding the places where they filled cracks with caulk or other materials. They also painted over the dirt and debris on window sills, etc. When painting trim on windows and other areas, they slopped paint over the brick work next to the trim area. This was really most evident on the front porch. Paint was also applied to the plastic side walls and locks inside of some windows. A number of windows were painted shut and will have to be addressed by someone before we will be able to open them. The hand rails for the cellar stairs had rust coming through the two coats of paint a day after they finished. We were promised a top notch job but we were in better shape before the job than afterwards. Our current problem is to find someone that can fix the problems left by this contractor. When I last e-mailed back and forth with Bismarck, he still was not interested in coming by and said that he was washing his hands of the job and to not pay him. He feels that he can walk away from the job, give up his payment and all will be just great. I don?t agree with him. Since then, I have been trying to get proposals and estimates to repair or try to repair this situation. It appears that repairing the damage will be more expensive than the price of the original job.
Description of Work: The painting contractor, Bismarck, said that his people were supposed to paint all external trim on windows with two coats. Also, they were to paint the cellar stairs metal rails, downspouts and gutters with industrial oil base paint. We had recently selected this company to do some interior painting based on their "A" ratings on Angies List and the BBB rating of A+. The interior painting was done well so we decided to have them do our exterior work. We asked that the new windows (sixteen of them that we had stalled, recently) not be painted.

$3,300
Response from Lomar Painting Co
First, I would like to make sure any reader of this review and response knows that the stated approximate cost by the customer of $3,300 is false. It cost them nothing. As a business owner who has seen his company flourish as a result of positive word of mouth and customer satisfaction, I did NOT CHARGE these homeowners, who were not happy with any results of this job, any money. The approximated value of the materials and work completed, in fact, was $4,500, but again, they were not charged anything. I also want to immediately address the statement that I will only come to a job site if there is a problem or that I just “may not bother.” This is an exaggerated, false statement all together. It is true that my company has been providing pressure washing services in the area for years, but at that point in the situation, I did not offer any further services to a customer that only had criticisms and complaints about anything we did. I requested they find another power washing company and I would return with painters to resolve any remaining touch-ups. However, once I received new unspecific accusations regarding more damage even after I said I was not charging for the completed work, I decided it best not to return. I am not going to even justify the many snide remarks, assumptions, and personal commentary included in the review regarding my working relationships with my employees, their experience, or the working conditions with a response. These clients hired my company for an interior job and the customer did mention it went so well, they called us back for another job. Receipt of payment took some time, but I did eventually receive it. The estimate for this exterior work was given back in March and due to conflicts in their schedule, we finally started work in September. My men did the entire job in two days. The customer called me after it was completed with touch-up concerns, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, things began to get difficult when they pointed out scratches on a piece of siding where we did not do any work nor could a ladder fit at the angle where the scratch was located. I pointed out that the gutter caused it, but when one of the homeowners began screaming, I assured them I would take care of it anyway. On this visit, we walked around the entire house with BINOCULARS provided by the homeowner in order to point out discrepancies and imperfections. I called my men that afternoon and they returned to fix them. Then, they called back with more touch-ups, including exterior paint on the interior window lock. I didn't argue with such a statement, but instead, offered to repaint their 2 interior windows. After hearing this offer, one of the homeowners got so upset, they began yelling with tears in their eyes and at this point, I simply told them I did not want them to pay me since the situation was clearly going beyond some touch-ups. The other homeowner, though, expressed that it wouldn't be fair to me, so I suggested they get their house power washed. There was a chalky film coating the siding which caused smudges and handprints when and prevented us from seeing the true color of the siding itself. Power washing should have removed the dirt and film from the siding and I was going to come back and touch it up once it was cleaned off and the actual siding color was visible. After the company completed the power washing, I received an email stating that “The results laid a few more problems,” but the homeowner would not tell me what happened even after I specifically asked. More than two weeks later, I received another email that there were dents on the siding. As I mentioned before, the homeowner actually used binoculars as we walked the house several times while they pointed out every imperfection and had me look through the binoculars as well. We did not see nor discuss any dents which would have been visible even before the power washing – especially with the use of binoculars – and suggested they contact the power washing company who was there after us. In fact, I still have pictures they sent me prior to the power washing and there are no dents on the siding. As you can read on all of our other reviews, Lomar Painting always does our best to make a customer happy. This is the first time in 12 years of a successful business that I just could not do it - even when they received an entire paint job for free!

All aspects of the work went extremely well. I had used this company before and found that its owner, Bismarck Lopez, to be professional and completely reliable. This experiences was no exception. The price of the work was very reasonable and his carpenters and painters arrived on time, did very good work, and left the work site clean.
