Lomar Painting Co

Lomar Painting painted the entire inside of our house, three car garage, and all the exterior trim. They also prepped the garage floor and painted that with epoxy paint. Their price, which included the cost of paint and other supplies, was substantially less than the other estimates we received, but the quality of the work was excellent. Bismarck Lopez, the owner, consulted with us twice prior to beginning the work to make sure he knew exactly what was to be done. His ten person crew arrived at the appointed start time and worked diligently for nearly a week and a half to complete the job. Then he sent people back to do touch up work after a different company had refinishing our hardwood floors. Everyone on the crew was helpful and friendly. We will definitely use Lomar Painting again for any of our future painting needs.

The painter who did the work was professional and did a fabulous job! I would hire him again in a minute. He didn't drop a drop of paint anywhere other than on the walls. I thank Lomar for having such qualified staff.

Under the leadership of its owner, Bismarck, Lomar Painting is an outstanding operation. From the first time I contacted Lomar for an estimate until the job was completed to my satisfaction, Bismarck and his crew were 100% responsive to all of my questions and inquiries. Bismarck arrived at my house within a few days of my first call and gave me a detailed estimate for the work I requested. He was courteous, professional, and extremely knowledgeable and made it clear to me that, absent unforeseen circumstances, the price he quoted me would be the price for the job -- no hidden or surprise mark-ups or add-ons like you can get with other contractors. Most importantly, he kept to his word, and the final price was exactly what he quoted me. While his estimate was not the cheapest of the half-dozen I received, it was no where near the most expensive, and I had no hesitation in hiring Lomar and paying a little more based upon the excellent initial impression made by Bismarck (as well as the positive reviews on here). On the date of the job, Bismarck sent 2 large crews to our home -- one for the exterior and one for the interior plus a carpenter for some wood work we needed -- with the goal of completing the job in a single day, which I greatly appreciated. The crews showed up exactly when Bismarck said they would (a little early actually) and went to work. The foreman made sure there were no misunderstandings or questions about was going to be done, and he kept me updated on their progress throughout the day. By the end of the long day, they had completed the painting, returned all the furniture to its proper place, and cleaned up so thoroughly that you could hardly tell they had been there -- except for the beautiful new paint! The next day, I noticed that a piece of exterior trim on a second floor window had been overlooked. I contacted Bismarck, and he had someone out there the next morning to resolve the issue. He also made it clear to me that if I had any other concerns or questions, I should get back to him because, as is his motto, he "stands behind his work 110%" and he wants to develop a relationship with each customer that lasts more than a single job -- almost unheard of with today's contractors! As I said at the beginning, this is an outstanding operation from top to bottom, and I will not hesitate to hire them again -- in fact, I'm already talking to Bismarck about our next project. If you're looking for a painter, do yourself a favor and call Bismarck and Lomar Painting. You'll be glad you did!

Bismarck's crew, headed by Orlando, arrived on time, put down protective covering on the floors and stairs and went to work with a purpose. The work was completed in two days and it looks great. Will continue to use Lomar Paining for the remaining rooms in July.

Bismarck's crew did a superb job! Prepped, painted and cleaned up in one day. Crew actually went over the allotted 8 hours by 1.25 hours at no extra charge! Workmanship and professionalism were without peer. Would definitely hire again!

Orlando was punctual, hard working, professional and thorough. He did a great job for us. $300 very well spent! We also appreciated that we could be put on the schedule just 3 days after purchasing the Big Deal.

We just moved into our Brambleton home, and we wanted to maximize the 2 weeks we had off to get as much done as possible before returning to work. With that said I called Lomar Painting Co which I found on Angie's list and Bismark was a GOD SEND! I mean he came over, and he's a no BS kind of guy which we like in our potential contractors. He came in, great sense of humor, great story of his successes and gave me a quote within an hour. I asked him when can this be done? He said how quickly do you want it done because I can split up my crew. I said tomorrow? and what was his answer, "Yes, we can make that happen!" I could not believe that within a day of calling, getting an estimate our whole house was painted the next day. There were no frills, no games, no bargaining, this company, led by this man is a CLASS ACT. Let me repeat that, CLASS ACT. He comes, checks on his crew, points out where they may have missed something and he goes over everything with a fine tooth comb...and the best part, he doesn't want payment until the job is done and to your satisfaction. Bismark, is a leader and stands by his mission and a man of his word...VERY HARD to find these days...I will use his company again and have already posted his information at work. He is one of a kind and someone worth waiting for because his work product is just that good. Knowing now what I know about them, if he would have told me I had to wait a week I would have because it was flawless. I could go on and on, but you have a choice....this company or the one you may not know, go with LOMAR PAINTING, you will have no regrets. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Bismacrk and his team did a great job! The crew was huge - three vans, seven men - and they were here by 0800 and went right to work. Everything came out really clean, from the colors to the cut lines. They were really easy to work with and when one room was being painted the wrong color they quickly corrected it. Because the crew was so big and good, they were done by 1300! When they left, they told us to call the next day if there was any touch up work that needed to be done; we looked around and everything looked beautiful. I would definitely hire Bismarck and Lomar Painting again and recommend them to my friends.

In the past 20 years I have used countless contractors and I would rate Lomar Painting in the Top 1%. From first contact, to the initial quote to the completion of the work Lomar Painting demonstrated nothing but the highest level of professionalism, diligence and attention to detail. Bismarck arrived on time, was courteous, professional and took the time to understand my requirements. He identified the most cost effective means to achieve my goals and never tried to upsale me on extra work. Bismarck replied promptly with a very reasonable quote and was able to schedule the work right away. On the scheduled day his crew arrived on time, went straight to work and then went above and beyond what was required by doing additional work that they identified as needing repair without charging me extra for it. The quality of the work is superb. Throughout the process Bismarck would arrive to ensure the quality was up to his rigorous standards. At the completion of the work they thoroughly cleaned up after themselves so that no trace was left whatsoever that I had painters all over my house. I highly recommend Lomar Painting and will continue to use them for all of my painting needs.

Bismarck's team did a great job painting our kitchen cabinets and stair rails. They did excellent prep work, were punctual, and worked efficiently. I had a ton of small requests and follow-up questions via email and Bismarck was responsive, and very patient with me and explained everything fully. His team also promptly followed up on any touch ups, etc. The finished product turned out great. We will definitely use them again for any future painting needs.

We had 8 recessed lights installed in the living room and 4 in the family room. There were some big holes to patch (even though the electrician was very careful). Orlando patched the holes perfectly and did an excellent job of painting the ceilings, deciding they needed 2 coats to cover the patching. He also painted the wall areas that were patched. He was courteous, easy to communicate with, neat and tidy and did an outstanding job overall. If we weren't moving out of their service area we would definitely use them for all of our painting.

Outstanding! Team of three arrived on time, covered all remaining large furniture, prep'd room (removed all outlet covers, etc.), and painted the wall, ceiling, and trial in my wife's preferred paint brand and color . They checked to make sure which holes were to be filled and painted over, and witch were to remain (HDTV mount). They did such an outstanding job that they will be our painter of choice for the remainder of most of the house interior over the Summer

Bismarck and his team are excellent. Bismarck worked with us, showing up on time for an initial quote for work, and then was patient when we changed the requested work and quotes via email. They arrived promptly on the date he had promised, and worked hard throughout the day to get all of the work done. His crew was very courteous and professional, and I found I was comfortable leaving them alone to finish the work. Our new place is challenging, being an older building with "not so straight" trim work and some amateur paint work before we moved in. His team identified the problems, walked us through ways to work around it, and did a great job. The house looks much better. Finally, after they were done, we realized that an accent wall had been missed. Bismarck sent a person back within 2 days to fix the problem, and threw in some work - for free - on a short connected hallway as well. We picked Benjamin Moore paint, which can be expensive. Bismarck charged us only for the paint costs, and we even had his professional discount. After hearing about markups for paint from other companies, it was a good ending note. Overall, I would definitely use Lomar painters again, and we hope to call them back for future work.

This is my second review for this company -- again as a happy customer. The owner's response and estimate was again prompt, and I didn't have to wait very long for an appointment for the job either. In fact, I was amazed that the entire job from start to finish was completed in one very full day by two workers. I appreciated that they picked up the paint I requested at the store, moved the large pieces of furniture, and covered everything. They were efficient and attentive. The results looked great, and I've received multiple complements since.

Service was great. Bismarck (the owner) told us what supplies to have on hand, they brought the rest. The painter was courteous and professional. He did a great job. We'd definitely use them again.

Sent 2 guys for a day in a 5x5 bathroom and it just didn?t work out because they were on top of one another.

I wasn't asked to put any money up front. The Lomar employee showed up on time (0830 on a Sat); got right to work and completed the job by early afternoon. Hard working, diligent, and thoughtful; and while his Engilsh was poor (and my Spanish was more so), when he saw I was overwhelmed, he called the Boss, Bismarck to keep me informed. Second time I've used Lomar Painting (the first was on the exterior of my three story townhouse.

Painter was prompt and very conscientious regarding maintaining a clean workspace and using our bathroom to clean his tools. He did an excellent and timely job painting the room. Will definitely use Lomar Painting services for future paint jobs at my home.

Bismarck's team did a fantastic job painting our living room using a semi-gloss paint. They were punctual, cleaned up after themselves, and the quality of the paint job was excellent. Highly recommend his services.

I was provided an estimate based on a photo of the damage at my rental unit, which was extremely helpful such that I didn't need to take time off to meet them for in-person consultation. They honored the quote in completing the work to spec, and the quality of the job was excellent.

the individual has not paint part of the ceiling and the minor dry wall repair is not done.

Bismarck and his team were absolutely fantastic! The service was very attentive--no detail was overlooked and Bismarck is very responsive to phone calls and email. Our 75-year old house looked like new after they were done painting. They also did a great job cleaning up after themselves. We are tough to please, but Lomar really goes above and beyond.

update: CLEARLY THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT." company's response is unnecessary and inappropriately ad hominem. as noted below, i very much wanted (and tried very hard) to work with them, but they are unreasonable, inflexible, and DON'T DESERVE TO BE CONTACTED OR ELSE THEY'LL JUST PULL OUT RUG FROM UNDER YOU AS WELL. I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT I HAVE TO WRITE NEGATIVE REVIEW - ESP AFTER I OFFERED MULTIPLE OLIVE BRANCHES AND REQUESTS FOR RECONSIDERATION so that i wouldn't have to do so, after they UNILATERALLY QUIT ONLY BECUASE I TRIED TO RECONFIRM WHEN THEY SAID THEY WANTED TO COME and mentioned that i had other work calls -- since, as i had previously told them, i would be WORKING from home. DO NOT CONTACT THIS COMPANY (a) IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO INVEST/WASTE IN A COMPANY THAT WILL JUST UNILATERALLY AND ABRUPTLY UP AND QUIT AFTER YOU'VE INVESTED/WASTED WEEKS EMAILING THEM. (b) if you need a contract that understands that you have a REAL DAY JOB (i.e., if you're like most people and have a job) -- and when you TELL THEM THAT YOU'RE WORKING FROM HOME, you're still WORKING. (c) if you would appreciate working with a company that responds positively (rather than pigheadedly) to second chances. in short, i contacted company and tried to set up estimate. in light of their limited availability, i suggested one day on which i "might ask to work from home." so i was initially taken aback that the company said "that would be perfect...see you between 1:30-2:30pm, let me know if anything changes on your end". so the FIRST problem was that i had to respond that "i haven't requested this yet and would be *working* from home, so you can't just tell me when you want to show up. i need to ask and get back to you." company responded that it would be easier for them to schedule me and cancel me later if needed. fine, whatever - imho, you should still ask customer (rather than unilaterally tell them what works for you), esp one who will be WORKING at the time. about a week ago, i let them know of a couple of conference calls and asked them to come a little later than the 1-hr window that they had previously chosen for themselves. company indicated they'd come between 2-2:30p. company emailed me this morning requested reconfirmation of afternoon appt. my response was "i think you wanted to come between 2-2:30p? i hope to be in between work calls at that time." i thought i was just nicely reconfirming when they wanted to come and letting them know that i had other work calls. SO I WAS TOTALLY TAKEN ABACK THAT THE COMPANY JUST UNILATERALLY QUIT because ""I think" and "you hope not to be on a call" isn't confirmation you will see me. I will not come since you can not confirm you will see me for sure. Please contact another company to provide you with an estimate." i thought this was an UNREASONABLE, ABRUPT, UNILATERAL DECISION/RESPONSE from the company -- legitimate grounds for negative review. so my first olive branch was "i was just confirming when you wanted to come? i'm working from home and trying to accommodate your schedule." in the absence of a response, i added "i was looking forward to working with your company and was just trying to be nice and realistic in my response. but if you would prefer a negative AL review (rather than reconsidering), that's also your prerogative." company response: "I'm very careful to 100% confirm my free estimate service, because all too often schedule conflicts occur at the last minute and it ends up being a reschedule hassle for everyone. As of March 12, you were available, but at the last minute today you expressed uncertainty of your availability and proceeded to threaten me with a negative review before even meeting me. Just like my potential clients have the freedom to choose my company, my company is able choose who I work for and at this point you should find another company who can better suit your schedule." my response: "hi - you unilaterally cancelled your visit and quit altogether, only because i tried to reconfirm when you wanted to come and mentioned that i had a few *work* calls today. earlier, you had just put me on your schedule even when i had told you that i still needed to request permission to work from home in the first place. nevertheless, i was just trying to be *nice* and honest with you, was unpleasantly surprised by your abrupt, unilateral response, yet even nicely gave you the opportunity to reconsider. you've chosen not to reciprocate." company response: "I was already on the road and unable to respond while driving to the first post and was going to suggest you email me pictures of the areas you wanted painted if that worked better for you. However, once I saw your threat to write me a negative review before I even provided a response, I decided it was best not to go any further with the estimate. It's a free estimate and no one pays my travel time, fuel, or time to type up the estimate which is why I need to know the customer will be there and available to work with me. I will simply re-post this thread as a response to a negative review. I did everything from responding to your requests quickly, scheduling, and confirming our appointment for today, but you couldn't 100% commit and *nicely* threatened my company's reputation. I have been just as *nice* as you have been, but, yes, I am choosing not to go forward into a business contract with you and any further response is unnecessary." my response: "actually i found your unilateral and abrupt decision to quit to be ***anything but nice,*** esp after i was only trying to reconfirm when you told me you wanted to come and letting you know that, as i had previously told you, that i would be WORKING. don't worry, i'm posting this correspondence in my review. too bad you've chosen to refuse to try to work things out."
