They did a very nice job. The house was unoccupied when they painted it but they came in and did a very nice job. I am very pleased with the results and I found them to be very easy to work with. The salesperson listened to what I wanted done, he made some suggestions, and he even came to do some touch-up work. He assured me that their price was competitive, but unfortunately I couldn't get any other quotes to compare them with. They came out within a couple of days and they finished the work promptly. The painters seemed conscientious.

The guys from HS did a really good job from start to finish even dealing with our changes during their work. They were prompt, professional and provided helpful suggestions. We are very pleased with their work and would recommend them to others. I plan to us HS again for future work.

I first started talks with Ivan about installing hardwood floors on the first level of our home. He was quick to respond and provided quotes the same day. When we decided to look into using Ivan's hardwood supplier, he was prompt in getting out to do an estimate. He provided a fantastic price with all the services that other independent contractors also offered. His wood supplier was very honest and extremely helpful when I went in to get some samples. In the end, we ended up going with another contractor since they were able to acquire the materials we wanted at a much lower rate. But nonetheless, I thoroughly appreciate the effort that Ivan placed into our inquiries and his neverending patience as we dragged him through our decision making process for a few weeks.

They did a great job with all the work, Ivan and his staff were professional and courteous. I had to postpone the Walk-through of the job a couple of times(we were yet to move into this house), they were considerate with my unavailability and had waited almost 5 days for the Walk through. Overall I am satisfied and would definitely reuse them.

Overall, we are very pleased with the work and have received numerous compliments from our friends. For the price its really unbeatable. Our home now looks like a new construction and the bathroom is a great addition and works very well. We also wanted to preserve the original granite countertops and Jorge expertly removed the cabinets underneath them without damaging the countertops. Jorge was incredibly helpful and reliable. He met us at Home Depot on the weekends to help us haul materials that wouldn't fit in our small car. He was available at a minute's notice on a Sunday when our dishwasher wasn't working well. He was very concerned with every step and the quality of each piece and was diligent in following up with us and making sure we approved each step he took, especially if there was a deviation from the original plan. They never deviated from the original price, even when unexpected changes happened in the project, such as when we failed an inspection and the bathroom needed to be slightly redone. We wanted to do a super budget renovation so if you are looking for a full service contractor you should probably look elsewhere. We did all the kitchen and bathroom design ourselves, which was a headache, but worth the savings. The cabinets had to be returned several times because we aren't good at measuring, we improvised a bit on the island, we had to change the original backsplash because Jorge did not have glass cutting tools and we did not want to spend any more money acquiring them, and we had to change the bathroom sink because the original did not fit. If we hired a full service contractor this probably would have been avoided. We also had to keep one wall we wanted to take out because there was a large heating pipe in it. I am not sure if a specialized contractor could have moved it but we decided to keep it because we didn't want to spend more money on having it evaluated, moved, etc.

They were scheduled to arrive at 8:30AM, by 9:30AM they had not showed. Heard from Ivan at 9:30AM telling me they'd be to our house in one hour. I immediately called him, asked why they're two hours late and why he didn't contact me at 8:30 to let me know. I did not get any solid answer and absolutely did not get an apology. Workers showed up at 10:45AM. Workers were professional in the house, were quick, did a decent job (I say decent because they got paint on our trim and light fixtures). Later discovered they rinsed their tools with our hose in our landscaping bed. As a result, the paint run off has damaged some of our landscaping. Nice. Also never received a thank you or an apology. Will not use again.

painter showed up a little bit late, and did not bring the tall ladder needed. he had to go back and get it, which pushed the start time back one hour. however, that was the only glitch. 1. painting: professionally done, absolutely no complaints. 2. guest bath peeling paint repair: can't tell that there was ever a problem. 3. caulking: master bath shower tub looks like new. 4. arch window film: very good. little bubble, but since he didn't have a scaffold and it was a very large window, he did about the best anyone could do with a ladder. 5. reinforcing kitchen cabinet: it's flush up against the wall now. no problems. price was EXCELLENT. he and his partner were professional, hard-working, polite, and even gave me some painting tips. i will definitely call herndon service again.

Ivan responded quickly to my request for an estimate...his person performed the work promptly and well. I was pleased. They needed to come back to complete the work and did so as planned. When I get the next job organized I plan to use them again.

Ivan Torres, the owner/manager, responded promptly to my request for an estimate. I chose HS because of the reasonable price and Ivan's professional manner. He is absolutely wonderful to work with. His estimate was for labor only, which was fine with me because it allowed me to select the paint. I chose a Duron product and Ivan told me to mention that he was my contractor when I bought the paint so I could get the discount he gets. Although he also estimated repairs as labor only, his employees picked up things I'd bought at Home Depot that were too heavy for me to carry to/from my car, and when they knew what items were needed but I didn't, they bought the things with their own funds and had me reimburse them. Ivan's team painted the entire interior of our house and made several minor repairs that were necessary in preparation for listing it for sale. Once Ivan heard that we planned to sell, he very kindly helped look for things that should be fixed, recommended things I shouldn't worry about, and generally took an interest in helping meet my overall goal of getting the house in good shape rather than simply doing the specific tasks I requested. There were times when one or both of us forgot some items on the list, but Ivan kept checking in with me to see what was yet to be done. He and his crew are very professional and easy to work with. If they make a minor mistake or fail to clean up something, they come back and make it right. Their prices are very reasonable. I am going to use their cleaning service as well, to put the finishing touch on the house before listing it, and I'll submit a report.

They were very nice and professional and the estimate was just about what I thought it would be. They were punctual and gave me the estimate immediately, they were great. They were respectful of the fact that I didn't chose to go with them and let me know they were available for any future projects I might have. The whole experience was very good.

I had initially contacted 4 painting companies in all, but ultimately chose Herndon Service based on price alone. Not only was the cost for the job well below everyone else's but they were not put off by the fact that I only wanted the bedrooms painted and not the entire house. I had put off much of my home repairs and updates due to the fact that home improvement costs in my area are exorbanant and contractors are reluctant to work on small jobs. Even in this economy I was stunned at what other companies were still charging. Herndon Service included everything in their quote and never backed off of the original bid or tried to increase the cost if something came up that was not anticipated. They showed up on time each day (+/- 15 minutes) and would have worked as long as I let them. They cleaned up and swept before leaving each day. Ivan (who coordinates the sales) stopped by often to see how the job was going and the workman and he were extremely courteous at all times. The job ended up taking a day longer than anticipated but they came back and finished up. Approximately 3-4 days after the job, the head painter came to check on the work and when he saw that something had been missed he addressed it immediately. The only conflict that I had was scheduling the follow up for the electrical work that had to be postponed twice due to their schedule but they accommodated me and actually showed up on a Sunday to finish. This was such a positive experience that I plan on using them for everything in my house and for the first time since moving to Virginia, I feel as though I can actually afford to pay a fare wage for excellent work without having to take out a 2nd mortgage to do it. They are coming next to install tile in my kitchen and I hope to have them update my bathrooms. I don't say this lightly, but I feel so fortunate to have found them.
