The 2 painters were only 5 min late and got right to work. I did have some communication problems, but we worked through them. They did all requested and cleaned up pretty well. The owner of the company came out to make sure all was going well.

I had purchased the big deal for $450. He told me that it would take 2 painters a day and a whole other day. He said the second day would cost $900. I had another painter come out for a quote and he said that he would do everything for $150.

Had an Angie's Deal for this job. Owner was courteous and prompt in response to an appointment, came out to house for discussion and gave me essentials of time, prep required (furniture moving, etc. either to be done by me - I did - or by them if I did not want to do moving.) Painters showed on time, went straight to work and were extremely polite, courteous and professional. Remarkable how much better a professional job is than I ever do myself. Very pleased and will contract them to do more painting this year.

I hired Herndon Service when I saw their promotional deal on Angie's list - a discounted fixed price for 8 hours of interior painting by two painters. Sales point of contact, Ivan Torres, was prompt in responding to all calls and correspondence, and professional in all our dealings. His two-man crew arrived just a little later in the morning than we were expecting, but stayed the full 8 hours and completed a great deal of work -all our projects were completed, and more: fix cracks in and paint a BR ceiling; repair holes, smooth surfaces and paint a bathroom walls, ceiling and trim; smooth and paint a DR ceiling; paint a tall stairwell and adjoining landing walls, ceiling and full trim; resurfacing and painting several doors. the crew was friendly, worked efficiently, and did a very nice job on all the jobs; we were particularly impressed with the repairs to the ceilings and walls, and how thoroughly they cleaned all the work areas. We were very pleased with the company, and would certainly hire them again.

He was a very nice local man. He was a small business owner. He was prompt, friendly, efficient and on time. It was a Big Deal so it was definitely cheaper than we would have ever expected to pay. It was a 2 day experience.

They show up on time and work quickly to get it done in one day. I hired them for 8 hrs of work and had thought that I would have to paint any area that they didn't get to within that time frame, I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to work fast enough to finish both area in 8 hrs. I think they are excellent painters but they aren't so good at prepping because the areas that they prepped themselves didn't turn out as well. They came on Labor day which was really great for me since I didn't have to miss work. Also, the person who came to do the estimate and help us with ideas etc. was very knowledgeable and helpful.

This was for a rental property that was vacant and we were unable to be there on a regular basis. Ivan came out the next day after we called and provided a price quote. They were able to start work quickly on the painting and did a nice job overall with the painting. They did miss a few spots but came back and fixed it when pointed out. Ivan also offered to do a few odds and ends jobs for us around the house and threw these items in for free (cauling the bathtub, using pesticides, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling baseboards). However, they did seem somewhat disorganized and there were some communication/language barrier type issues, particularly via email, that caused the overall experience to be somewhat less than pleasant. Here are a few examples: - They lost the receipts for the paint and other materials that they were supposed to be reimbursed for. We will pay for the amount they indicated, but would prefer receipts/copies of the receipts. - We often didn't know what had or had not been completed due to lack of communication which led to some confusion and stress on our part. - Ivan's emails sometimes seemed argumentative. I'm not sure that was his intention - it may have just come across the wrong way. Overall we got a very good value for our money with Herndon Service in the end. We would use them again.

Service was good. My wife and I think the painted rooms look very nice. After purchasing the coupon, I contacted the owner - Ivan through email . We emailed back and forth to set the job up and schedule a day and time. I bought the paint and waited for the service date. Painters showed up first thing in the morning and began working. They worked quickly without rushing. I was not sure how much could be done under the Big Deal terms (2 men for 8 hours) but 2-3 rooms was what I was expecting. They were able to do that. I think they would have been able to do a little more but I didn't have anything else planned. Ivan (company owner) dropped in during the afternon to look at the job and work and make sure that it was to my satisfaction. I was happy enough to ask for another quote for more work. I am going to do part of that myself but I will definitely contact them again in the spring for another quote. I would recommend Ivan and Herndon Services. My neighbor liked the work as well and asked for their contact information which I was happy to pass along.

We purchased a Big Deal for 2 painters. We wanted to get our basement painted with a fresh coat of paint to ensure an attractive appearance as we entertain this holiday season. We were using the exact same color scheme (we provided the paint) and thought two professional painters could easily paint our small basement in the eight hours each they would be here for the job. When the owner of Herndon Service came to our home to see the job, he indicated that it would take more than the alloted time to paint the full basement and offered to contract for additional time. We did not want to pay additional money for a job we thought could easily be done in our already paid for service. We however, acquiesced to the company's estimate that they could not paint the entire basement and only asked them to paint one 14 x 14 foot room. After they painted the room, the painters left while it was still drying. I inspected the job later that evening once it was dry and you could see spots around the crown molding that were not painted. I called them to come out and fix this problem. The owner said they would be at my house at 1:00pm but they did not show up until 2:00pm. The owner (Ivan) was very unprofessional during this visit, he stood on the arm of one of my theater chairs to see why the paint was pealing. I was shocked that he would stand on the arm of my theater chair. He said the painter used the wrong kind of caulking and that is the reason for the unpainted areas now. A few minutes later I found him opening up a closed door upstairs in my home. He said that he was looking for the garage to find some caulk. I was on the phone with my husband and he said to call the police. I told them to leave immediately. The work is still not completed to our satisfaction.

I got more than my money's worth for the job, and it was already a great deal!! Two painters showed up and managed to paint three bedrooms, including a master, in 8 hours. The paint job is beautiful, no problems that I can see. They were very careful with our stuff, nothing has paint on it, and were very good about putting everything back in its place as best as possible when they left. The supervisor, Ivan Torres, came out during the job to check on progress, and also came by later to make sure that it was completed to my satisfaction. They did a spectacular job and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They were very good. I have used them twice. I think I spent about $1200 for their services. I had a very difficult job. There were two colors in the ceiling and they were willing to do that. They also did an excellent job at an excellent price in addition to good quality work. They were neat and cleaned up nicely. It was an even better price than they normally charge because it was through the Angie’s List big deal. So, I was very pleased with it.

Ivan T. gave me a quote for an interior painting of a small town house and that is exactly what I paid. I was not too impressed with the painter's they were not entirely professional and left some spots on the carpet, a paint brush in our bathroom sink and lacked attention to detail. However if money is an object I would recommend you give this company a try but don't have high expectations.

Herndon Services had the best estimate out of the 4 other companies we looked at. The service was excellent and efficient. They did a thorough job and were finished in two days. We started off only asking for family room , kitchen, stairwell and foyer). They offered to do the living room and family room $300 so we took them up on their offer. If you have ever painted anything yourself it is definitely worth $300 to have someone else do it!! The crew was friendly and very clean. You have to do some preparation before they come like remove things from the walls and take down curtain rods. They will fill small holes and do some drywall repair if you provide the supplies. I would highly recommend them and plan to use them again for future work.

The two painters arrived promptly and went to work moving a few large furniture items out of the way. (I had moved light-weight items the previous day.) Their work was careful and neat and when they were through they cleaned up promptly. At the end of the day, as I walked through my kitchen, I found an small area of paint that was bubbling. The "head" painter said it was probably the result of the wall being wet under the paint (but it wasn't in a spot that would ordinarily get wet, so I'm not sure what caused the bubbling.) Nevertheless, he scraped the paint off that section of the wall, coated it with something (drywall patch?) dried it with a blower, and repainted. Perfect!

Customer service was a perfect 10! I've already started looking at the calendar to have them return to paint my bedroom and bathrooms next month. The price was great to include the $650 coupon for two people for 8 hours. They arrived on time everyday, cleaned up and did exactly what they promised to do. Ivan stopped by daily to ensure things were going smoothly and was a phone call way if I had any questions or concerns. They purchased the paint, provided all the supplies, covered and protected my hardwood floors, carpet and furniture. If I had it to do all over I'd select them again. Thanks Angieslist!!!!

It went well. The painters arrived on time and did an excellent job putting on the window trim. I came home to a very clean house.

I contacted Ivan of Herndon Service through Angie's Liston Sept. 20 before purchasing the "Big Deal" that was offered to see when the next available painting date would be. He got back to me within a few hours and said Oct. 1 was available. I asked him to reserve the date for me, and purchased the big deal. A few days later, I contacted Ivan to find out how much space the painters would be able to cover in a day, and he again answered promptly and was very helpful. He told me to expect the painters around 9am, and they knocked on the door at 8:50am. The two painters (Arsenio and Manuel) were very friendly and professional, and made sure to ask lots of questions so they knew exactly what I wanted. They covered all of my furniture (which I had moved to the center of the rooms) and floors with plastic sheeting and quickly got to work. I felt very comfortable with them in my home and left a few times to run some errands. Since I wasn't sure how long it would take to paint, I told them not to worry about painting the trim if they didn't think they'd have time, and even though I left the house before they finished the walls, all the doors and trims were painted when I got home. I wouldn't have known the difference if they had told me there hadn't been time to do the doors and trim, but they did them anyway. I really appreciated that. Their work was excellent and precise, and when they were finished, they did such an excellent job cleaning up that you wouldn't have ever known they had been there. I will absolutely use them again.

Ivan was terrific. He kept a good eye on the job and was very conscientious. His head painter, Arsenio, was also terrific. He was very pleasant and tried very hard to do everything I asked. The whole crew was hard working and pleasant. There were a few mistakes made, but Arsenio found a way to fix most of them. A couple of doors were painted that were not supposed to be, but other than that, the job was done very well. It was a big job and there were a lot of details. So all in all, I was very pleased with the outcome. The job was estimated to take 4 days, but ended up taking about 6 and an half. It was a bit tight because I had a flooring crew coming in on the 6th day. But it all worked out in the end.

I found Angies Big Deal for this painter and paid $450 immediately for 8 hours service. The painters arrived, and painted straight for 6 hours, then told me they would have to come back for a full day the next day, and I would have to pay the $800 to finish the job. I accepted this as true, and agreed. They came back and worked another six hours, but still didn't finish. This was for a dining room, living room and a long hallway. The walls, the chair trim and the base trim were already painted a very dark color, that is why it took them so long. However, they told me that they would come back again (3rd day). I was not about to pay out another $800, but they said not to worry, they would be finishing up and checking their work. The men that came were Edwin and Jaime - very nice and professional. One spoke English, the other understood English but couldn't speak it very well. Didn't matter, everything was done very nicely. Ivan responded quickly to emails sent to him, but not with phone calls. Timing- well they usually came a bit later then what they told me (by an hour), but at least they came! All in all - the work they did was astounding. The rooms look incredible and seamless. No mistakes, beautifully done. This customer is very happy with the work!

Very disappointing... these guys are better suited to working for your Uncle Bubba painting his double wide with a broom, or painting your garage floor. How in the world can they get paint on a pair of dress shoes, a pillow sham, and (this is not an exaggeration) the sides of ceiling fan blades. This is in addition to spots on the carpeting, paint on the shower curtain rings, as well as fixtures... And, their advertised special of two people for $650 is no deal.

ivan was very responsive despite what I know was a large volume of Angie's List members who bought his Big Deal. We scheduled a few weeks in advance knowing we'd be closing on a new house which made it easier on both sides I think having time to arrange things. On the day of the painting, the 2 man team was late but did arrive late in the morning. They worked throughout the day and were very professional and unobtrusive. They came back the next morning to finish up. At first glance I thought the job was done rather well; however, once the paint dried you could see the areas on the walls where I had painted test colors when trying to decide what color to use. I called Ivan who quickly agreed to come out the next day to figure out how to fix the issue. Instead, I got a call the next morning saying the team had a cancelation so they were available to come over right away. Since we hadn't moved in yet it was easy to arrange and they came back within a hour or two. They repainted the walls with the issues which fixed the problem, at no extra cost to me. I am very happy with the quality of the work and with the professionalism of the team who did the work. Ivan even stopped by while they were working to check in on them, which was nice to see, and to make sure I was good with the pace of the progress. Overall, a few hiccups but in the end we love our new basement and can't wait to move in!

A fantastic experience! They VASTLY exceeded our expectations. Angie's List saves the day again. Mr. Torres and his crew were the epitome of professionalism and courtesy. Our house looks wonderful! A textbook example of pride of workmanship and good customer communication. A crew that varied between 2 to 4 people showed up exactly when promised in the morning on day one and worked quietly and carefully over the next 1 and 1/2 days. The crew cleaned up after themselves as they worked, and they actually had a person come in for the last half day and do touch-up and a very thorough clean-up all around. All of the workers were true professionals, and they did things they did not have to do, such as repairing many 'nail pops' which involved re-spackling and drying with a potable dryer and carefully sanding before they painted. They also did some other small fixes that were beyond what we had asked them to do, including damage we did to a wall in trying to removed a large mirror. They spackled, sanded and painted and it is beautiful. Mr. Torres supervised his crew very efficiently by stopping in 2 times each day and reviewing what was being done, and he and the the crew obviously respected one another. I could tell they had all worked with each other many times before and they all knew what they were doing. I cannot think of a single thing they could have done better. The job came in exactly at $1,100, and I assure anyone reading this review that Ivan Torres and his team are the 'real deal' I have never seen a better painting team. I will have Mr. Ivan Torres and his team back to repaint other areas of my house. Thank you Mr. Torres and your excellent team, and thank you Angie's List.
