With all the rain we had this spring I kept putting off de-winterizing our sprinkler system. Over the weekend I noticed my lawn was getting fried with the heat wave so while I was able to just use the hose to water I had to get the sprinklers back up and running before I left for a long trip out of town on Monday night. This my own fault for waiting so long. I called several companies first thing Monday morning to see if someone would come out the same day. I explained the situation and made it clear I needed it done the same day before my evening flight. Creative Irrigation was the first I reached live who agreed to have someone out the same day. They wanted $129 for our 8 zone system. They said someone would be there from 2-5 pm. After they set up the appointment, I turned down all the other companies who called me back. 4:30 rolls around and no one has showed up yet. I called the office and was told they would need to call the driver. She quickly called back and said they had to cancel. Apparently the driver got stuck on another job and wouldn't be able to make it. I asked why no one had called me earlier. She said the driver's cell phone wasn't getting reception. Seriously!? So he couldn't find a pay phone to say he was blowing off the next job? The previous customer wouldn't let him use their phone? If he didnt have reception how did the office manage to reach him a few seconds after I called to ask where he was? It was a lame excuse. At this point I was screwed and there was no way another company would come out before my flight at 7 pm. I called back and asked if they could come out after I got back on July 6th which was a Friday. I asked what sort of discount they would give given the no-show - i suggested they should even do it for free. The receptionist said she would do it for 99 dollars. A week later I get an email informing me that they had to cancel my appointment. This is because they are now not working on the 6th in lieu of the July 4th holiday. I am all for people celebrating independence day but this was a make up appointment for a no-show and the appointment has been on the calendar for a week already. They either scheduled me for a day they knew they wouldn't be working or they just make up their schedule as they go. I called another company who came out and did the job for 99 which ironically was the amount Creative offered to me as a discount for the no-show. Completely unreliable.

Creative Irrigation maintains our system well, and we’ve never had any problems with them. They are pretty reliable, and we’re happy with the company.

I like Creative Irrigation & Lighting very much. We had another company before them who made me crazy because they were unresponsive and unreliable. Creative is the exact opposite; they are professional, timely, and reasonably priced.

They do very good work at reasonable prices. I appreciate that they are thorough and pay attention to the details.

This is a locally owned business, and there is absolutely no way I could recommend them highly enough! Of all the contactors we’ve used in this area over the past thirty years, they are bar none the best. They’re everything a client could want: reliable, professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. I think they are very good at planning and taking all aspects of your yard and home into consideration. They know what they’re doing, and they do it extremely well. We’ve already recommend them numerous neighbors and friends.

They had been working with us for 8 years. They were supposed to come out and do the annual restarting of the sprinkler system. When they came out they weren't able to get it started and told us it wasn't working properly. He said it was a significant expense and he needed to go back to his office and document a quote. Many weeks went by, I tried to reach out to him many times and he wouldn't get back to me. Our lawn started to die because it was getting late in the season. They sent out another guy and he couldn't reactivate the system either. They sent us a quote for almost $2000 and said they'd have to replace the system. I told them I was going to get another opinion. When I said that they immediately sent out a 3rd person who came out and spent a couple hours wandering around trying to activate the system. He never got it activated, he indicated we had not maintained the system and they had been maintaining it for us twice a year. I called another party who came out and activated the system for me. Then Creative Irrigation tried to bill me for their services. We've been in a dispute over this. i told them I would not be using them anymore. They outright lied and said they showed my nanny how my system worked, we were both shocked when we saw the invoice.

They made the minor repairs that they fixed and they were knowledge and on time and polite and helpful. They spoke English.

The installation went OK, but there were problems afterward. First, they failed to tell me that they would ruin (by cutting the hoses) of my present drip irrigation system. If they had told me - I could have removed it. I was home the entire time and no one ever mentioned this. Second, some of the zones they set up didn't end up making any sense. They set up one full zone for a flower bed which gets no sun and all day sun both - obviously the water requirements will be very different for each part of the bed. Also they set up a watering routine that nearly tripled my water bill! I realized this after 3 months when the bill came due and then changed the frequency dramatically - to a much better result. Lastly, they took a copy of my hand drawn plat of my property with all my landscaping drawn on it from a class I took in order to draw in all the water lines. Unfortunately, they lost it. (It was my only copy) I had to file a complaint with Angie's list to get them to replace the drip hoses they ruined and provide me with another drawing of where the water lines are - which they did. I feel their customer service leaves something to be desired. They also charge over $100 each spring and fall to turn on and off their system.

The overall experiance was wonderful. I would highly recommond anyone who has an irrigation system to visit the Creative Irrigation website and see if your system looks like some of the examples of things not to do. Mine did, and I'm happy I called and got them fixed.
