We used Andy Lukosik and his wife Lucia, owener/operators of TopBuilders and Cherrydale Kitchen and Bath, to design our kitchen and bathroom re-model and could not have been happier. From the first conversations we had with them, we were impressed how they listened to our requirements, then used their expertise to help us fulfill our goals. Lucia has a perfect eye for what works and what would cause problems, and we quickly learned to trust her judgement. She made several recommendations in the design stage that we had not thought of, but that completely revolutionized flow through the kitchen. Her choice on an additional set of cabinets we wished to add actually made the kitchen feel larger than the original layout. Indeed, every set of friends who visited the finished project couldn’t believe how we had made the kitchen seem 25% larger without changing the overall footprint of the original kitchen. Andy and his team were fantastic. They were always on time, extremely courteous, and most importantly, ensured they made as little dust and mess as possible. They covered all the furniture, hung plastic in the doorways, and regularly used vacuums and blowers to minimize construction dust getting into the rest of the house. Most importantly, the completed the project in a timely manner, ensuring we had a functioning kitchen for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays—something we had feared we might not. As for the construction itself, we couldn’t have been happier. There were simply no “cutting of corners” with this team. They take great pride in their work, and pay particular attention to even the smallest details. Andy is an on-scene supervisor, who regularly stopped in to check on the crew and provide them his expert eye. Denis, his brother-in-law, served as the on-site project manner for our projects and did much of the work himself. He’s a genius with electrical, and routinely made adjustments to help ensure the kitchen functioned the way we needed it to. An extremely hard worker, Denis made sure every detail was addressed. If we had questions or concerns during the construction, he listened and then addressed each to our satisfaction—sometime with just an explanation on what comes next, and other times to making changes to the design layout at no extra cost. Finally, adhering to our agreed upon costs was an important reason we were so pleased with their work. Andy and Lucia routinely provided us several options, allowing us to remain in complete control of project costs during the design phase. Unlike many contractors, we were never surprised by escalating costs or unforeseen expenditures. In fact, the project came in under budget thanks to some of Andy’s recommendations once the remodeling was underway. We were so pleased with the work they completed on our remodeled kitchen and main hall bathroom that we asked them back to install hardwood floors as we were preparing to sell our house. Not only did they agree to do the job for less than any other bid we received, they also were the only contractor who could complete the project in our tight timeline before we sold the house. Indeed, when we successfully sold our house in less than a day at a higher price than expected, it was clearly evident that we had recouped much of the money we had laid out for the projects. I would highly recommend Andy and Lucia to anyone considering a remodeling project—no matter how large or how small. Indeed, our only regret is that we moved to far away for them to do some work in our new home.
