+ -1 moreJoe 'the Singing Firewood Man' has provided our firewood for years. I don't know why this last order delivered on Sept 30th, 2013 was such a problem! We ordered 2 cords of wood but he delivered significantly less than the 2 cords. We always leave the check under the doormat for him and he must have deposited it immediately. We called the next day and left messages for the following two weeks asking him to please fulfill the order. He has NEVER returned our calls. The wood has always been good and the stacking done well but this time we received the worst service ever. His little jingle ends by saying 'where the wood burns but not the customer.' We're very disappointed and will never order wood from Joe ever again.

Description of Work: I have left several messages inquiring about firewood delivery. To date, he has not called back. I initially got his contact information (and recommendation) from another Angie's list business I had used for chimney cleaning and inspection.

+ -1 moreIF JOE WOULD HAVE SHOWN THE COURTESY OF CALLING ME TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF THE WET WOOD, I WOULD HAVE NOT MADE THIS REPORT. HE JUST IGNORED ME. I WAS FAIR ABOUT THE WHOLE MATTER, I GAVE HIM OVER TWO WEEKS TO RESPOND. NOW I WILL KEEP THE WET WOOD AND LET IT DRY OUT FOR THE NEXT SEASON.
Description of Work: DELIVERED (WET) FIREWOOD. TO BE HONEST, I WOULD HAVE RATED THIS SERVICE A+ UNTIL NOW. I'VE USED THIS SERVICE APPROX. 5 YEARS NOW WITHOUT A PROBLEM. THE TWO GUYS THAT DELIVERED THE WOOD ASSURED ME THAT ONLY THE BARK WAS DAMP, UNTRUE, THE ENTIRE SHIPMENT IS SOAKED. I'VE LAID A COMPRESS COMMERCIAL LOG NEXT TO THE WET WOOD FOR TWO HOURS AND ALL THE WET WOOD DID WAS SIZZLE AND SMOKE. I'VE LEFT TWO MESSAGES ON THE PHONE FOR JOE, A FRIEND (WHO BUYS WOOD FROM JOE ALSO) WAS CALLED BY JOE AND ASKED IF HE NEEDED MORE WOOD, AT THIS TIME MY FRIEND TOLD JOE THAT I NEEDED TO TALK TO HIM REGARDING MY WET WOOD. SO THAT'S THREE TIMES WITHIN TWO WEEKS THAT I TRIED TO MAKE CONTACT, BUT HE HAS NOT CALLED. AT THIS POINT, I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING FROM THIS MAN. I WILL GO ELSEWHERE FOR WOOD. I JUST WANTED TO PASS THIS ALONG TO REPORT POOR SERVICE. I'M REALLY IN SHOCK THAT HE WOULD LEAVE ME HANGING LIKE THIS AFTER ALL THE YEARS OF EXCELLENT SERVICE.
