Before I start, let it be known I rarely post reviews I NEVER POST NEGATIVE. I hate to complain. But I just want to share my personal experience with Potts Brother LLC, I'm sure some people somewhere have had greats experience and may think the world of them, unfortunately, that was not my experience. Potts Brothers, in my opinion, suffer some horrible communication and customer service skills We were hiring them to take care of mold and repair drywall. The never tell us what time they were coming my wife has to call and ask what they will be there. They say 9:00- 9:30. Ok got it! The day comes I'm home waiting, I'm on the phone with my wife I tell her that I think I hear the doorbell, I go downstairs open the door nobody's there. I look out the back window see a gentleman in getting in his car, I lift up the window to try to get the guy's attention still not sure it's him or not. I go downstairs open the basement and the guy's gone. At the time I'm still not sure if that's him, nobody called and said hey I'm at the front door or I'm at the back door or anything like that. So we called the only number we had which always goes to voicemail,"Hey not sure if that was you but, we're here" no response. I call back Monday get the expected voicemail, no response. So I call back Tuesday, someone picks up and HANGS UP THE PHONE, YES. So I said this cant be real I call right back, someone picks up, and proceeds to argue with me about how they're not coming back out because I should have been there. Their lack of communication is costing them money, we had some more work for them to do, my porch steps are jacked up, there are other things in the house we wanted to be fixed. What I assume happen was, that he came knocked on my basement door, then came around front rang the front doorbell once and left. I was waiting for them, for some reason I did not hear him. All he had to do was call and say "hey Mr. Humphrey I'm outside". We had no contact information for him, he had ours. Communication and bad customer service got them this review, loss of work, loss future work, and loss of recommendations. Again I'm not to assuming that my experience is the same that everyone else will have. This is how my family and I were treated.

In a prior "competition," I was impressed with Potts Brothers' response and decided to go with them this time for minor drywall repair, exterior wood repair, and painting The site visit went well, and the bid I received was about what I anticipated The crew arrived punctually, completed their work ahead of my expectations, and did an excellent job. They were very pleasant to deal with and were gracious about my periodic checking on their progress. Something that deserves special mention is how they treat their customers. I had mentioned an Angie's List discount to the office manager before the work was started but forgot to provide the coupon to the worksite manager and ended up paying the full price. I contacted the office manager about my oversight, and they sent me a check for the amount of the coupon. That, as well as the excellent work, will make me a repeat customer.

They did a fantastic job. They were very patient with me in determining what I was asking them to do, and explaining that some of the work I thought I wanted wasn't necessary (e.g. caulking around all the windows). It was only about 10 days between the time they wrote up the proposal and the time they started the work. We were on a planned trip out of town when they were working, and were able to co-ordinate via phone the changes needed in the kind of coating they were going to use because the one that was used the last time was no longer available. Our deck and cellar doors have never looked this nice! The house was built in 1984 and the deck in 1991.

Terrific. I've used Potts Brothers multiple times and have always been very satisfied. They are professional, efficient, timely, responsive, careful, and reasonably priced.

The work went well. The work crew were particularly good at cleaning up after themselves. There was some confusion about the brand of paint to be used but the owner straightened this out.

This went well. Herman was excellent to work with and offered good ideas and requested direction appropriately. This all turned out beautifully.

They were excellent. Their price was two to three thousand less than other painters, so your recommendation was very important there. One guy came and I don't know if he didn't want the job or what ever but he was ridiculously high for doing trim. We didn't have the whole house painted. It was just the outside, the hardy board. They put up hardy trim around too and the trim needs to be painted. So the were fantastic, but actually to be honest with you we didn't encounter, we were like shocked. You know you hear all the horror stories and when you go into it somebody that doesn't like it then anyways, you know what I mean, it has to be done and you don't want it. Its like going to the dentist. You have a cavity you got to have it filled, but there's a difference in the way we were treated and the way the work was done. I'm blown away bye it. I would actually have it all done over again. We didn't have one glitch. It was unusual. Im picky too, I'm one of those picky people. I just think that everything that was done was done perfectly. They're very respectful of the property. In the house when they were working here. I just can't say enough good stuff.

After some weather delays crew made it out and did a terrific job! They cleaned, sanded, and painted wood trim around house including fascia, porch, door frames, and garage door frame. They got it all done in a day and it makes the trim look new and bright again. They did a terrific job cleaning up afterwards as well. Very pleased with the result. My only recommendation is to be a bit more proactive in contacting customers regarding schedule.

Perfectly, They came on time.They did a great job painting and cleaned up well afterwards. Very professional.

They did very well. We are obligated to stay within the Williamsburg colors, our community is built on using McCormick paint. So, I actually had to pick the color based on that. We had a certain color scheme we had to pick from. I think the price was competitive. We didn’t do the front door because we have wood doors. We just did the facade around the door and the windows and shutters. We had one issue, but it was actually their mistake. I had changed colors and they didn’t convey it to their team and they painted the house the wrong color. They were finishing up with all the trim in the wrong color. They changed all the colors and there wasn’t no crap. It was a disconnect communication, but I will say this, they immediately rectified it. They had to give it one day to dry and they were back two days later and they did the whole job. That’s a lot of it, I mean when something happens and how they respond. They responded to their responsibility and they fixed it.

Due to the unrelenting rain we had to reschedule. Once the weather cleared we had the work done over a two day period. The men were professional, polite, and did an excellent job. We also received a 5% senior discount.

Well done and efficiently. The new floors I put in before the painting had no paint spots on them.

The crew arrived on time and ready to get to work. They wasted no time getting set up, moving furniture where necessary and covering it and the flooring for protection. The crew was eager to get to work and the crew chief, "Freddy" went out of his way to ensure that I was happy with the outcome. There were several non-painting jobs that the crew undertook including removing wall mirrors and shaving a door so that it closed properly. Darlene in the office was a delight to work with. I will use Potts Brothers again and recommend them without hesitation!

They arrived on the date and time promised, and they immediately set about preparing the house for painting. There was a six man team and they worked well together, completing the project in three days, as promised. My final inspection confirmed that all painting was done meeting or exceeding my expectations in every instance.

At first when they think they're going to get the job, they're very nice and polite. But the painters were very messy, dropped paint everywhere. They also painted over wet drywall which we I didn't know until it was completely dry, they would never come back out after they said they would. Many canceled appointments, and now they just ignore my calls

The garage hadn't been painted in almost 40 years. When Potts Bros. finished with painting it, the garage almost looked "finished."

Work was performed in a quality manner.

Work done as agreed upon efficiently and thoroughly. Crew and both Potts brothers were pleasant to work with. My only complaint, which was addressed as soon as I stated it, was the materials left at the end of the day on an heirloom oriental rug which was not in one of the rooms being painted. Fortunately, there was not damage to it or the hardwood floor.

Potts Brothers did an extensive interior painting job for us after we remodeled our first floor. They quickly removed some old, fragile wallpaper, making the walls so smooth it’s impossible to tell they were ever covered. They also helped us adjust course when we realized the paint we had selected for one room would not work. Our only complaint is that there are a few spots throughout the work area that are a bit messy - stray brush marks, uncrisp edging, and unfilled cracks. On the other hand, this was a large job and they did the work quickly and efficiently. Had we flagged the problems at the time, I am sure they would have corrected them.

Outstanding work. They promptly performed an estimate and came out to the house while the weather was good. I added a couple of items to the list and they took care of them with no issues. This is an excellent painting company.
