In general, it was good. We had a few problems with things not being painted to the level we expected. They also did not cover some plants e had and there was some drips of paint on them. They were confident and the price was what we expected.

They arrived on time, worked efficiently, fixed items items that I didn't feel were done properly and didn't leave any trash at the work-site. Overall, I was very pleased with the work that they performed and would definitely use them again for future projects.

Most of the work was done fine. Some of the painters painting around the windows were sloppy and my husband had to razor blade the edges himself.

I thought they were great, and I would definitely use them again, inside or out. The crew was great and very tidy. I would recommend them. I was really glad that I found someone like this on Angie's List.

They were satisfactory. They missed a place but they were responsive when I called and returned to take care of it. They were very professional. The clean up was great as there was no dripped paint anywhere.

They did great job. They are prompt and informative. They came a day early to do the job and left before I got home. I was satisfied with their work.

I was very happy with them. I will use them again and recommend them.

Contacted Potts Bros about getting exterior work done. We scheduled an estimate when I was NOT going to be home since this was exterior work and I didn't need to be around. There was a slight mix up with the estimator. He thought I WAS going to be home and called when he was running late. This was not a problem since I didn't need to be there anyway. I mention it because they did call and I have many contractors in the past he were late and never called. I received estimates from three companies. Potts was the same as another company and slightly (10%) higher than the cheapest. Went with Potts based on Angie's List ratings. Crew arrived on day and time scheduled and completed all work before the rains hit. Upon inspecting the work I found a few areas they had spilled or smeared paint (they may not have had time to clean up due to the rain). Anyway, I called them and mentioned there was cleanup that needed to be done. They came out the next day and took care of it. Overall I am pleased with the quality of work and customer service provided.

Crew (6 - 8) arrived as scheduled. Workers were industrious and hard working. We have a 45 year old home with double hung windows that, in some cases, needed a significant amount of scraping, sanding & glazing. Combination storm/screen windows were removed. All surfaces were prepped and two coats of paint applied. We were not home for the two days that the crew worked. When we were arrived home on the second day, we were met by the site supervisor who said that they were finished and wanted to settle the bill, literally before the paint was dry and we had the opportunity to review the work. After hastily reviewing the work, we noted several instances of sloppy work (paint on windows, sashes that were stuck, chipped paint on interior of windows, paint chips left in window sills, etc.). The site supervisor seemed a bit exasperated with us (told us that this was how it was with older homes) but said he would let the main office know about our concerns and we could work it out with them. The next day Jesse Potts came to review the work and agreed to send the crew back to correct our concerns. The crew returned and spent nearly a half of a day redoing, cleaning and repainting. We made sure we were home when the crew came back. During this time it was apparent that the site supervisor was not engaged in overseeing the work of his crew (the skill levels of the workers seemed to vary greatly). He spent nearly the entire time sitting in his car at the curb. Overall we were disappointed in the work of Potts Bro. Inc. Our experience did not measure up to the glowing reviews from other Angie's List members. Although they did correct most of our concerns, I felt that they were more interested in getting the job done and getting paid.

I would recommend them. You might be able to beat them on the price. They only problem was that the crew did not speak English very well. They did a few extra things that weren't in the contract. I would recommend that someone was home while the were working. They were attentive.

They were very responsive and came out shortly after I called. However, their bid for the job was significantly more expensive than a bid I received from a handyman, so I decided to use the handyman instead.

They pressure washed it on a Saturday - it took about 5 hours. Then they returned a couple of days later to hand stained it with 2 coats of stain and it looks terrific. They were expensive but definitely worth it. My only gripe is they left the stain buckets still at the house and I had to take them to the hazardous waste facility. But I would recommend them.

As I stated earlier, my comments are relative to my standards and expectations. I am particular about the surface prep and sanding before painting surfaces. My only gripe is, the crew should have spent more time prepping and communicating with the supervisor on site as to what the home owner (contract) specified. I had to intervene on several occasions to have the work redone. By my standards, I give Potts a C+ to B- on this go (for workmanship).

Excellent experience all the way round. I contacted them for a quote and had a written one 48 hours later. Scheduled the work and crew arrived within the 30 minute time frame they gave me. Crew did rough sanding and necessary caulking. There were seven painters and they were on site from 9:30 till 4:30. Work was performed in a very professional manner and the paint match was spot on. Cleanup was complete and when they were finished, the only way you knew they had been there was the sparking new paint job. I am very pleased with the results and will use them again.

Average. One of the brothers/owners didn't show up for an a.m. estimate but came by in the afternoon of the same day and apologized for not making it. Basically the painting was done but it felt like a rush job. The main goal seemed to be finishing the job in one day. Prep work was rushed. Not much time or attention was spent on inspecting wood condition, they started painting immediately and sanding was poor especially on window sills. Some small cracks were missed and not caulked. They chose not to replace two pieces of cracked wood but said a nail would hold it and some caulk. They did not seem to expect or want to do more than painting. Potts Bros. had one of the lower cost estimates which influenced my selecting them. At the last minute, I asked if they could add power wash and staining my deck but they could not work it in. You don't have one point of contact so you talk to whoever is there in the office. There was a job supervisor who came and went, and a crew of 3 painters. They showed up on time and the crew worked diligently stopping only for lunch break. They arrived around 9:15 am and left at 6:15 pm.

Our initially scheduled work time start was delayed due to rain, but as soon as a pretty day arrived, they sent out a crew of 8-9 guys, that did exterior trim and doors of house in a single day. Very happy with the service provided.

Potts Bros came to my house and provided an estimate the afternoon of my first call to them. I called the company to accept the estimate and they came out the next day and provided the paint (HOA colors). Did an excellent job, very thorough and fast. Would use again anytime.

Workers were friendly, covered/cleaned area, responsive, timely. Issue is the overall qual of sanding/calking. Many spots were rough under the paint & 1 spot that was really patchy & uneven. Asked the lead worker why does this spot look like this, is it b/c it needed a lot of caulk/sanding & he said Yeah, he didn't seem like he wanted to fix it so I just let it go even though I was unhappy. Soon after, a Potts Bro. came. I showed him the spot, he looked quickly & got the lead to come back & fix it. I apprec his immediate attention however I would have liked him to look at the overall qual. The lead promptly fixed it (w/ a brief annoyed look). I'm a new homeowner, don't like to complain or appear unreasonable & didn't know what results to expect. I should have spoken up & said, please look at this overall qual & tell me if this is "A" quality. Instead of picking the worst spot & living with the rest. In our opinion (& what we believe a potential buyer would think), its not A quality.

The crew was efficient, courteous and paid attention to detail. They completed everything within about 5 hours. I was very impressed. I had expected at least the whole day to be devoted to the job. I had taken the day off work and still had some time to relax at the end of the day. I will be asking them to return in the near future to take care of the dark purple bedrooms upstairs.

From the initial conversation with Sandy, the Potts' receptionist, through the two meetings with Al Potts for multiple estimates, to the work performance and final touch ups every encounter with everyone associated with Potts Brothers was pleasant and professional. They were prompt with their estimates and with scheduling our work. Their large crew and foreman were instructed on-site by Bob Potts. They carefully covered everything, including sealing interior doors, both inside and out before beginning work. We found the work to be both thorough and top quality. Two areas - our family room ceiling and one window - had been damaged and required meticulous attention. The restoration they achieved in those particular areas, as well as the overall workmanship throughout was outstanding. They were very complete in their clean up, left us plenty of paint for touch ups and returned quickly to repair a shutter that had been damaged in the painting process. We could not be more pleased!

I had three estimates before I hired Potts Bros. One was a little lower and one was over twice as expensive. I originally scheduled the painting for a Tuesday in the first week of November, however it was postponed due to wet weather (more in Virginia where they are located than in Bethesda where I am located). The rescheduled day was also too cold & wet to paint so it was postponed again. Throughout, all communication with Potts Brothers has been a dream. Sandy and Robert Potts have been available for any questions and confirmation of all details. The actual painting day was ideal for painting and since no one was going to be home, I had left my key hidden. In my absence, the kitchen window was un-jammed, storm windows removed, etc. All wood repairs were nicely done. The replacement shutters were hung, primed and painted. Everything was painted just as expected. I only wish they had taken the two old shutters with them when they left but that's an easy thing for me to take care of.

Excellent. We had used Potts for painting, when I searched for handyman was glad to see a familiar name. They came over, reviewed our list of small tasks, provided an estimate within a day and were able to schedule the work within a week or so. They showed up on time -- four very hard working guys who finished our list of tasks in half a day! The works were capable and courteous. It was so good to get a list of things all done in one day!

Prompt, reasonable price, thorough, and worked quickly. Very pleasant to work with.

Estimate was courteous, professional, and consistent with those of two other contractors. Agreement to accept VISA was major consideration in our choice, as was their offer of 10% discount. Job took two complete days, dawn to dusk, involving over a dozen workers, carpenters, and painters. On-site leader was courteous, and responded to all questions above the din of power saws and hammers. We had no cause to question or redirect any of the process. Paint matching to original color was excellent. Clean up was thorough. We're very happy with the process and the result.
