The paint job that was provided was excellent. The house looks great. They power washed a few days beforehand and then carefully caulked while painting. Estimator gave an accurate estimate. We had a mix up regarding the cost of changing our minds about the paint color, but when I explained the situation, they quickly remedied the problem.

They came on time, did the job, cleaned up. the estimated price was the actual price. A most positive experience

Potts Brothers are excellent. We met initially with Jess and he diagnosed the problem quickly and came up with solutions to gutter problems and wood rot on our house. They emailed an estimate. Their estimate was clearer than others we received and they provided greater assurance that they understood the scope of work and how to address wood rotting issues on the house. We felt the price was fair and the job was perform on schedule, at the estimated price, and well done! We have had so many problems with contractors and handyman that we were overjoyed with Potts Brothers good work and professionalism. I have passed their contact name along to others an will be making additional referrals in the future.

I called The Potts Brothers based on the very positive reports listed on Angies List. Potts brothers came out when they said and provided written estimate with professional recommendations as to what should be done. I accepted their proposal with my 10% Angie's List member discount. On Saturday Morning their work crew showed up as scheduled and completed all of the work in one day. They cleaned up everything when they were done. Everything looked great. Not a drop of paint was spilled. The team did a very professional paint job The Potts Brothers employs a competent team of talented individuals and they do their work prompt and efficiently. They did such a great job on the outside of the house we have hired them to paint the inside.

Arrived on-time Very good paint job, although color-matching door paint with shutters was not perfect. Re-caulked around all all door trim.

Mr. Potts arrived exactly as he stated and retrieved paint colors while crew set-up. Work was done extremely professional and quick. I was very pleased with the work Potts Bros accomplished on the house and pland to use them in the future for the inside of my house. They gave a very competitive price and were very helpful working with them. I would highly recommend them to anyone anticipating any painting projects on their house.

The Potts family is a terrific painting business. They are a great family run business right here in the big city of DC . They were on time when they started, and completed the job with total perfection. I have a townhouse in a historic area of Alexandria, and their painters were very talented. They also did superior craftsmanship work to old trim and came in under all of their competitors in price. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great painter.

I would highly recommend this company. Very responsive to our needs, both in the timing of the job (short notice) and pricing (negotiated fair and reasonable total project cost). And the work turned out beautifully. No complaints or criticisms about the quality of the workmanship. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I was very pleased with Potts Brothers. They planned for things to go wrong in a way few contractors do, adjusted for some things they couldn't have expected, and ended up delivering on-time and under-budget. I recommend them to everyone getting work done in Northern VA.

The guys showed up the first day and immediately started scraping and prepping they took a piece of siding to match the paint to/ We added some work while the foreman was there so that everything would match. We had initially identified a couple of rotten boards and trim that needed to be replaced... as the guys worked they identified another 150' of rotten trip. All was replaced and painted. They did an excellent job, and finished in two days.

They came back a few days later to touch up and complete some minor issues that may have been overlooked by me and them do to the excitement of the earth moving!

After seeing the good reviews for Potts on Angie's list, I decided to give them a call. We needed a kitchen and bath remodel, as well as some exterior painting. They listed these services on their profile, as well as Montgomery county so I thought it would be a good fit. In speaking with the woman who called me back after my initial message to the company, I detailed the work we needed done and she arranged to have someone come out and give us an estimate for the work. On the day before the estimate, I got a call from a gentleman who works for the company telling me that they don't do kitchens or baths in Maryland because it it "too far" for their workers to drive from Virginia. I told him that I had gone over the work in detail with their scheduler and that they list Montgomery County as a location for their services. He said that with traffic it takes too long to get here. A company that won't do a fairly large project because of traffic (where ISN'T there traffic in this area?) is a concern. I should have canceled the estimate, but when he said they could still do the exterior painting, I figured I would give them a shot. The exterior painting work we needed was for our detached garage. Years of the previous owner painting over peeled paint has led to quite a bit of cracks, peels and unsightly bare patches. We knew it would cost more money, but I explained to the gentleman who came to do the estimate that the garage would need to be properly scraped before repainting to stop the cycle of ugliness. He said that they would paint, but they wouldn't scrape the old paint first. When I asked him why, he said it was "too much work". (I'm not exaggerating, that's exactly what he said.) I don't usually do reviews for companies who haven't actually done work for us, but a review like this would have saved me the time and trouble. If you live in a non-traffic area close to where the company is located and your job doesn't require "too much work", then I'm sure they're fine.

My HOA was complaining about some dead pieces of wood in my front bay window area that came out of my house so I called The Potts Brothers based on the very positive reports listed on Angies List. I called and spoke to one of the Potts Brothers and scheduled an appointment for the free estimate. Shortly thereafter, I decided to run with them for my repair needs. In addition to getting some wood repaced, I also needed them to repaint everything (the new + old wood to make sure it all matched) as well as do some caucking inside my house windows. Due to Hurricane Irene, we weren't able to get it done the week before last...however, the thing I really appreciated about The Potts Brothers was that they 'could have' come and done the work anyway to get paid. However, they realized that the hurricane would be causing high winds and rain in our area so they advised me to wait on getting the work done so that the repairs/repainting would not be hurt. I really appreciated that! It totally skipped my mind and I was more thinking 'It's hot today, why not do it today?', but after it was explained to me that that the fresh paint and wood should have some time to settle and dry before getting rained on, it finally dawned on me. Again, they could have said the heck with it and came earlier to get the job done knowing the potential damage I may have had later. This speaks highly about a company and showed me true concern for me, the person - not me the money source. It really meant a lot to me! Then the team came over (after the hurricane had passed) and finished my work in short order! It looked great!!! The contract was signed and mailed back July 13 with work scheduled to begin August 11. The job started early Thursday 8/11with removal of the old siding. While that was happening the search for replacement siding was on as the original siding is no longer sold. The original paint is, also, no longer sold so they had to match paint, which they did well. By late morning replacement siding was found and I was given the numbers. Installation was begun in the early afternoon. The crew left at 8:20 that evening with all of the siding in place. They returned the next morning to prime and paint the siding and to install the drier vent. I reported the vent alignment problem mid-afternoon and it was corrected before they left later in the afternoon. I am pleased with the job.

This was our second project with the Potts Bros. and we are just as pleased as we were with the first. They came in got strait to work covered all the furniture. The only thing I wish had been covered a little better was the bathtub, it was just a lot of scrubbing to get all the paint off. Otherwise the job was fantastic, they did exactly what we asked and are very trustworthy.

The estimate was tied with the lowest with another company. The thing that made me choose Potts Brothers is that they are a family-owned company. When I called, I always spoke to someone who spoke English as their primary language. They completed the job in one day. And, when I made a change, they were more than willing to appease me. The rotten wood on the house was more than anticipated, but when they called, they always gave me an estimate of how much extra it was going to cost. They asked me if they should leave it in my backyard so that I can verify that they are not replacing "good" wood. I told them not to do it, and they cleaned everything up and left the leftover paint can for me. I would highly recommend Potts Brothers to anyone and will use them again if I ever need painters.

The workmen came as agreed upon to power wash the siding the day before the painting was going to be done. The day of the painting, three workmen arrived along with one the Potts brothers to go over the color of the paint. There was a problem with the paint that was mixed to match the current siding and Mr. Potts immediately went back to the paint company and had the paint remixed. He returned and showed me the color which was a perfect match. The workmen had already began to prime the siding and by the time Mr. Potts returned with the remixed paint, the workers were able to begin painting soon thereafter. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the workers and with the fact that Mr. Potts came out with the workers to introduce them to me and returned later in the afternoon to confirm that all was going as planned. The job was completed in one day and the house looked beautiful. No question that I would use them when I have to paint the interior of my home. They promised good quality and efficient work and did not fail in their commitment.

Good team. When there were a few problems, they addressed them promptly with good resolution. One or other of the brothers came for supervision or assistance several times and were very responsive to concerns. Job was completed very well within reasonable time (3 partial days due to intermittent rain).

Estimate went well with most of what I needed agreed to and priced. They worked for 1-2 days. When I inspected the property, I found that the ceramic tiles and marble floors were not cleaned as they promised to do with a special cleaner, shelving was installed where I told them not to, paint splatters were throughout the apartment, and some of the shelves were installed without being anchored properly (i.e. they moved around and were missing screws). I reported these problems to Mr. Potts and told him that I could not meet him the following week but would meet them the week after. They came on the week I could not meet them and called to ask where I was. I reminded them I wasn't available then and met them the next Monday. Their crew supervisor was about an hour late, saying he was lost, even though he had been there 2 times before. I pointed out the problems, asked them to do about 1.5 to 2 hours of additional tasks, and they agreed to fix them. I left, and returned a few days later to find that some of the things were done but the cabinets were not cleaned and painted inside, the marble floor in the kitchen was not cleaned, about 1/2 of the new tasks weren't done, other repairs were outstanding, and some minor new problems were introduced. I reported the problems to Mr. Potts, who reduced the bill by about $200. I didn't have time to have the Potts crew come back and then again. Each time they came, I had to make a 1.5 hour round trip to the apartment to meet them, another round trip to inspect, then call with a list of things undone, and schedule another appointment. I paid a handyman about $550 for an entire day to finish the tasks left undone by Mr. Potts crew. Mr. Potts was personable and pleasant, but wasn't the one doing the work, and he didn't check on the crew. He seemed distracted.

Alvin Potts came out to do the estimate for both homes. They painted our new home and gave us a very competitive price so we called them to also paint our house we were putting up for sale. They did a good job in both homes and we are happy with them.

They charged me $540 to do the whole thing. They were really responsive. They were very quick in coming out and looking at what the job entailed. It was like a week from the time that someone came out to look at it and sent me an estimate. Then the crew came out to do the work and did it really well. I really appreciated that. It was a good experience. The person who answered the phone when I called was very pleasant. They were professional in sending me the estimate by e-mail. They sent the bill by mail. The crew was very friendly. In fact, I had 20 moving boxes that I had to take for trash. So, one of the guys helped me with it. I didn’t ask him, but he did it. The only other price I got was from another company and it was around the same. They were competitive. The deck and patio look really nice. They came when they said they were going to come. They were very professional from the person who answered the phone to the one who took down the request. They came out the same day. They didn’t leave a big mess anywhere. They went above and beyond.

My experience with Potts Brothers went extremely well Jesse Potts met me for an estimate, and provided a good estimate. We had quite a bit of remodeling done, so he went back again to see new cabinets and shelves that would need to be painted. The crew showed up on time, worked hard, and were complete inside of a week. I had excellent interactions with the Potts team.

They were excellent. They were very responsive. They cleaned up very well.

They were pretty good but the only problem was the paint they used didn't cover, so they had to use several coats to cover. We got charged extra in the end because they had to use different kind of paint. I guess they weren't using the best paint available so they had to use more. We had to pay additional because of the paint coverage. If they had to use better paint then we wouldn't have had to pay extra. Basically they came over and gave us the estimate but it wasn't them that did the job, they were just the guys in the office. We went to the office to pay the additional charge and the two guys who came were just sitting there in the office and they were not very professional. Their office was not very professional looking too. They got the work done and got it done quickly. They cleaned up after themselves and we were pleased with the final results. We had no one to compare them to because we had no idea what it was going to cost. They were the first ones we called and we went with them. I have a girlfriend who said she'll come over and do it herself but I didn't want her doing that. They did a very good job and they were pretty quick. It was pretty quick after they called for us to get everything out to get the room ready for painting. I think they were very punctual. Their office environment was not very nice, it was in an old building and they just had the office there. The people who did the work were professional but it was just the environment of the office that was not professional.
