Perry Aire on a job "start-over" they initiated, demonstrated integrity, professionalism and great customer care. Brief background. On 6/21/18 I negatively reviewed the company. Perry Aire's management immediately called me, stated they knew they had dropped the ball and that they would make good. That is what happened. The motor and belt was replaced on a 45 year-old fan and their most qualified tech was able to make the fan much quieter.

it took a couple of visits to finish the job, but it was done well.

Perry's A/C was prompt, professional, and provided outstanding service at a fair price. I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic. Showed up on time. Performed the work with zero problem. It was a tight fit and I was nervous if they could get it in. Job was completed in an hour and they cleaned up everything. Very professional and wouldn't hesitate once recommending or using again.

Repair completed, but took more time than necessary because of waiting for another technician for a teaching experience. Made appointment on Monday; called Tuesday to give more information and they could not find the appointment information; said I would get a call back, but had to call again to get the appointment scheduled. Repairmen were pleasant, but seemed more familiar with commercial/industrial work.

Awesome job! Meticulous workmanship, knowledgeable staff & a solid installation, producing a truly professional result. They repaired the unit, installed the "hide" system on the exterior of the house & even painted the containment structure to match my brick exterior so it's not noticeable to the eye when viewing the house. The company has also performed my annual furnace maintenance, general plumbing maintenance (stopping a running toilet) & repaired my broken garbage disposal. I'm always pleased with their work & I heartily recommend them to others.

Based on the recommendation of a friend and comments in our neighborhood list serve, we contacted Perry Aire recently for an estimate of the work we needed done to upgrade our lower level HVAC system (to include rerouting our ductwork to gain more height in our basement that has low ceilings). We also wanted to consider their proposal for finishing our basement once the work was done and we asked that they provide us separate proposals for work to be done in phases, with the most critical and urgent one for the HVAC upgrade that we wanted done by mid-October. Also noteworthy, we had tried to contact them several months prior and never got a return phone call from them but gave them this most recent second chance. The first representative they sent about 4 weeks ago was not able to address our questions, so we had to wait for Mr. Perry's return from a vacation the following week. After our meeting with Mr. Perry, which we thought went well, we were advised that he would have a proposal for us "soon." After not hearing from him for a week, we called Mr. Perry using the phone number for him on the card he provided us and he never responded. Given Mr. Perry never returned our call, we contacted the Perry Aire office several times since and were promised that we would get our proposal in the next day or two. We are now in our third week of waiting for a response. There was never any follow-up or courtesy call to us throughout our waiting period. The onus was always on us to call and follow-up. Consequently, we let the office know as of yesterday that we have given up on them and are no longer interested in waiting for the proposals given their lack of responsiveness.

Mary from Perry Aire was quick to respond and schedule an appointment for the estimate. She was friendly and easy to work with and got her team out there as soon as possible. She was also flexible. The team came to give and estimate and was very friendly and professional. They sent the estimates within two days which I really appreciated. Steve was quick to respond and answer all of my questions which I really appreciated. I ended up going with someone else for most of their work simply because of the cost issue. I did however hire Perry Aire replace the electrical panel. They were able to schedule an appointment for the next day, which I appreciated. They gave me a window between 8 and 10 and and said they would call when he was 20 min away. Jim did call to tell me he was running late and he arrived at about 10:40am. He completed the work in two hours and we were on our way. Pros: Very responsive and easy to work with. Friendly people. Willing to answer your questions. Cons: Their prices were significantly higher than others. The new panel was smaller than the old one so there is a gap that I need to fix now. I'm a little annoyed about that, especially since they were so highly reviewed and charged us over $1k for 2 hours of work. When giving the estimate, they told me a few fixes that didn't actually need to be done. I was relying on them to be the experts, but another contractor told me that that an item (weather proofing door that goes to HVAC) was not needed. I wish they would have told me this and given me the option. I lost some faith in them when I realized they just wanted the work and weren't honest with me. I also wish they would have shared more information on the products that they were using and the warranty. I had to ask about this and they said they would follow up. I hope they do - this is important to home owners. Overall, they are friendly people and I appreciated that, but if someone else can do the same work for $1k less, I will hire the other people.

I had a split-system installed in my basement apartment in Dupont Circle. The owner of Perry Aire Services, Inc. and another salesman arrived on time and were very professional. They were willing to discuss various options and seemed fairly knowledgeable about the installation details. The primary issue I had with this company however is the price. Even after they took one of the blowers off the quote, it was still a full 50% ($5k) higher in price than the reputable/bonded/insured company I ultimately had install it. And 40% higher than the next highest bid. I don't know whether it was because I am in DC and they are a VA company, or whether they are generally higher in price, but be sure to get other quotes to compare before hiring. The only negotiation I was offered was in financing, which I was not at all interested in. I didn't need a loan, I needed a fair price. The only technical knowledge issue I had was that of three bids I received, and supported by my own research and the performance of the ultimately installed system, this company insisted that I needed three blowers and an upsized condenser in order to keep my subterranean 600 square foot apartment cool. We have had 90+ temps and high humidity already, and the system is nowhere near being stressed.

Perry Aire recently installed a Mitsubishi ductless system in the basement of my house. I could not be happier with my decision to use Perry Aire. They were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Perry Aire was not the least expensive estimate I obtained for the installation. I went with Perry Aire, despite the higher price, because of the comfort I felt with Frank, my sales and design consultant. He was knowledgeable, thorough, professional, consistent, and true to his word throughout our many communications. I spoke to several representatives from area companies, but I felt the most comfortable with Frank My pleasant experience with Perry Aire did not stop once I signed the contract. Frank continued to see the project through all the way through the installation period and until my drywall was patched and painted. In addition, the installation staff did a great job by working late to finish the job on time. In contrast to so many other contractors I have worked with in the past, Perry Aire not only delivered on their promises, but went above and beyond in their service. Paying a little extra for the peace of mind and service that Perry Aire delivered was well worth every penny. I would not hesitate to use them again.

I selectively lost power to just my living room and in the overhead lights of dining room and kitchen. I tried checking the circuit breaker myself, but resetting the circuit didn't solve the problem. Less than an hour and a half later, two technicians for Perry Aire Services arrived (the previous electrician I called said they couldn't be here until 5 days later). They were able to fix the problem in less than 30 minutes and only charged me for the service call. From the receptionist who answered my initial call, to the technicians who came by, to the woman who processed by payment, they were polite and professional. I will definitely use them again.

The tech showed up on time and the visit went normally without issues. The tech suggested a manual damper solution to control airflow to the basement along with a couple other options such as sealing the ducts. He could not give me pricing at the time and said the office would get back to me. It never did. I am extremely busy and it was the end of the Summer so I lost track of it and did not follow up (but really, why should I have to?). I have had this company do repairs in the past and they did a fine job. I am just not sure I would use them again for anything outside of a discrete/defined repair job. *Update 11/7/14*: Upon reading this review, Perry Aire contacted me to resolve the issue and sent me an estimate which I am considering. I kept my overall rating as 'B' but raised several of the other categories due to their responsiveness when they became aware of the issue. I will consider using the company again and have had no problems with any work they have done in the past.

I called Perry Air Services this afternoon and explained to the technician that my air conditioning wasn't working and it was quite warm in the house. I waited for the technician to give me some available dates for the soonest service, and was informed that someone could come out the next day between 12-4. I then told her that I had a home warranty plan, Old Republic, and gave her my work order number. Then, she told me to hold. After a minute or two, she returned to the phone and then told me that they couldn't see me anymore until Thursday. I told the technician that seemed ironic, since before I informed them about my home warranty they were willing to come out the next day. Then she told me that she didn't realize I was their 5th customer during that time frame and couldn't see me after all. When I stated that tomorrow it was going to be 90F and I didn't want to wait until Thur, she suggested I call them back and get another company. I am familiar with the "make them wait, hope they'll go away" type of thing going on with these companies, that just want to get their money upfront and don't want to deal with getting their money later down the line. I wasn't impressed and I wanted to let other people know this is probably not a very reputable company. I would not use them and would not recommend them. I also filed a complaint with this company with Old Republic, too.

Perry Aire was contracted through our home owners insurance late Wednesday evening. Their front office called us early Thursday to schedule an appointment. They were able to send a technician the same day from 12-4. The tech Lee came at 12pm and gave me a thirty minutes heads-up, as requested. Lee was very polite and told me what the issue was and proceeded to fix the issue. Took him about an hour and he told me what to do for future maintenance. I was very satisfied with the work and will call them again for any future AC/HVAC work.

It was fantastic. I would highly recommend them. They are a good business and they're good all the way through. As far as I'm concern, they're straight "A" company, take individual needs above the room because they kind of argue and fought with the home warranty company to make them realize that you'll need to do some extra stuff. Basically, we have a heating inside of the house which was put in about 4 years ago by another company and it never functioned properly since day 1, so we went to the home warranty company and they recommended Perry Air Services. We used Perry Air Services and then found out later that they're in Angie's List. They are phenomenal. They went to back for us with the warranty company, replaced the furnace in the inside and about 6-7 months, a problem was created with the outside unit and home warranty company went back with the Perry Air company and had them helped us with that also. They are honest, give you the straight direct answers, and educate you so you can make a proper decision. They are fantastic. The warranty covered a small portion of the cost. Their integrity is impeccable, show up on time, courteous, kind, and actually say, "Well, what would you do in my situation? This is what I'd do". We had a contract with them to do the heating and air conditioning maintenance.

Promptly replaced the A/C when another service provider had tried for three months to repair it without success.

I think Steve Perry, the owner of Perry Aire, is friendly and professional. We needed a lot of work done on the house and his estimate seemed the most fair out of the several companies we discussed repairs with. We had duct work run upstairs to make it into livable space as well as run out to the sunroom (which was a former porch) and further into the living room to make it more comfortable. Several electrical outlets didn't work right or at all and his crew got them going again. An old fuse box upstairs was rerouted to the one downstairs so it could all be in one unit. At first, one of the workers said it couldn't be done, but Steve said it could and made sure it was done. The final cost was higher than the initial estimate, but that is mainly because we had a plumbing issue that came up along the way. I recommend Perry Aire!

Perry Aire is the contractor with my home warranty company, so I did not choose them to do the work. After they got the contract order from the warranty company, they contacted me quickly, and handled all the negotiations with the warranty company regarding the type of work to be done and the supplies used. The techs did a great job of installation, including managing to get an large unit into a tight space in my utilities closet. Update 5 months later: When they installed the new furnace unit, they did some electrical work to put in a fuse unit next to the heating unit, but did not remember to install a new circuit breaker able to handle the higher amperage that the new furnace draws. I had to have an electrician out to deal with that problem. In his opinion, their choice of a fuse unit was not the correct one. This was not a danger-causing problem, but was tripping the circuit breaker when it got really cold out and the emergency heater element cranked on. So a slight decrease in the quality score for them because I needed a followup service appointment with an electrician. But the HVAC unit is still going well.

Over a ten day period in September of 2013, the owner and staff of Perry Aire Services Inc provided us excellent customer service, support, pride in workmanship, and professionalism. They even say the "T" word (thank you) on a regular basis, as in "thank you for your business'. Practices which, in today's global market place, are the exception rather than the norm. A leaking water valve, connected to our upstairs toilet, created major damages to our downstairs bathroom and laundry room. A bi-fold door separates the washer/dryer from our bedroom. We had no idea as to how long the walls and ceiling had been hiding water and possibly high levels of mold and/or other bacteria. What heightened our stress was that we both have asthma and that up until then, we felt that our month-long respiratory problems were the result of seasonal issues. Therefore, repairs were in the "emergency/time is of the essence" category. We did not have the time to do our normal "Angie Check". We contacted our neighbors for a referral. Owner Steve Perry of Perry Aire Services Inc and his staff had just completed major renovations to the new addition onto their home including: replacement of their attic duct system, installation of a HVAC system including a very complicated radiant heated floor system, filing all necessary county permits and being present for all inspections. I called Perry Aire on a Friday, hoping that someone would be able to come out the following Monday. I was absolutely amazed that the owner contacted me one hour later to arrange to drop by Saturday. The next day, at 9:30am, the owner called to let me know that he would arrive in about thirty minutes. Steve Perry rang our door bell at 9:50am, ten minutes before our 10am appointment. As requested, he contacted the insurance company's independent adjuster so that they would arrange a mutually convenient time to inspect the damaged areas and agree as to what the minimal immediate corrective actions should be. Mr. Perry continued to act on our behalf by communicating with the adjuster and senior claims manager on multiple occasions, via phone and email correspondence, answering their questions and providing detailed documentation to substantiate the need for additional repairs previously concealed by wet ceiling, walls, and floor. To me, they all conversed in an unintelligible foreign language. We have two final comments for our review of Perry Aire (Heating and Plumbing) Services Inc.: Pristine is the best word to describe what our home looked like, inside and outside, when the plumbers and other restoration people left our driveway for the final time. Similar as to how a good outdoorsman leaves their camp site, their carbon footprint was undetectable. And yes, the downstairs bathroom which they had used all week was squeaky clean. The owners concern for, and emphasis on, customer satisfaction is underscored when he (and staff) provides customers with his personal cell phone number. William Lewis Stern

Our air conditioner had a faulty component and parts had to be ordered from the manufacturer. After diagnosing the unit on the first day they ordered the parts and installed them immediately after they arrived. The technician was prompt (early), more than competant, and professional. We will use Perry Aire for all our future HVAC needs. They delivered exceptional service at a reasonable price. Thank you so much!

When replacing a unit, they give me equipment options at various price levels which enables me to work within my budget. They recently replaced my air conditioner with one that is more energy efficient and has a thermostat (controlling the air conditioner and furnace) which I can access/change/turn on and off from my IPOD or computer?loving it!!! The unit emails the company and me if something goes wrong. I always buy the annual service plan which provides for a spring and fall checkup at a reasonable price and keeps the units running optimally.

The work took two entire days. They came in at 8 am sharp and worked hard and steady all day. They cleaned up at the end of the first day and me with heat and hot water. They were back the next day early also and worked until they finished and had everything operating as they had agreed. They set my phone up for me also. Now the system will email me and them if there is a problem. It also allows me to change my thermostat settings from anywhere with internet access! It is a really cool set up! I can only say these guys are good!
