They were fantastic. The crew showed up at 7 to prep the areas so they would not damage my landscaping. At 8 am they went right to work and they didn't stop until they were done at 7pm. They cleaned up beautifully. I was so impressed and I have received many compliments from my neighbors and friends. The roof is so sound and has made a huge difference in my cooling bill. I could not be happier. Thank you Frank and Frankie Painter for an excellent job!!!

Luis and crew arrived as scheduled. They investigated leak(s) and discovered several missing shingles and minor damage to flashing. Appropriate repairs were done. In about an hour and a half work was completed. There have since been several periods of rain with no leaks observed. Very pleased with result.

I interviewed/obtained estimates from 7 companies and Frank Painter was the only one that I felt actually knew what he was talking about. The rest only knew the one product they were selling and didn't even have all the answers about it. His ability to inspect comes from his former life as a roofing inspector (I know there is a more official title for it) and he caught some issues with my roof that clearly needed to be addressed. The Gaco product he uses, he was knowledgeable about and it was absolutely the right product for my needs, but he was able to answer questions about other products as well (and in fact it was searching for certified installers of this product that I found him). He also was the only one of the seven that provided me with an estimate that included all of the work I requested. I love a contractor that actually listens to me. Even better, he provided me with more than any of the others and he came in at the lowest price. Can't beat that. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a roofer. I trusted him so much after the roof experience that I asked him to handle some other issues with my house. Some he handles with his crew and others are subcontracted out, but it was nice having one person coordinate all the work and know that he would not send someone to me that he did not trust. He was a little slow getting me the estimate presumably since this is not the bulk of his work, but the word done so far has been good. So I recommend him on that front as well.

Estimate was performed the same day I scheduled for one. They were very accommodating in negotiating a price and the work was completed within a week of signing the contract. Painter Roofing was very responsive and did the work quickly and accurately. I would use them again in the future.

They did great job! Our neighbors used them, too, and they have a great reputation. We’ve had no issues since they came out. Scheduling was easy and they were right on time. They were very professional. The owner and his son came out to look at the work, which was finished in a few days. We’ll definitely be calling them again!

I had high hopes that the job would be well done, because a neighbor had recommended this company. At our initial meeting, I told Frank that my roof was aging, and that while I had no leaks currently, I knew I would need a new roof soon. My PRIMARY concern was a leaking skylight on a bump-out in the kitchen, and I made this clear. Frank suggested to seal the skylight. A week after the new roof was installed, my skylight leaked again. I called Frank and he said he would take a look at it. I also called a few skylight companies to begin getting estimates, and boy -- what an education! From the very first estimate, I learned that to install the new skylight, the new contractor would need to take the new roof (1 week old) off of the kitchen bump-out, and charge for not only this labor, but new shingles, and also the labor to put a new roof on the kitchen bump-out!!! I was furious that at no point had Frank explained what the process would be should I need a new skylight. I feel it was his professional responsibility to let me know this before I had the roof installed so that I could make an informed decision about possibly deciding to get a new skylight and roof at the same time. He also shot himself in the leg by not disclosing this information upfront, because he would have had a larger sale and a happier customer. In all fairness, he was responsive and offered to give me a new skylight at a reduced cost, but his estimate for the work was very poor. By this time, I realized that I had to become an expert in skylights before I would spend any more money or hire any more contractors. His estimate for the skylight was not for a top of the line product, it did not include any details about the type of glass, the frame, a window shade that is currently installed over the skylight, the warranty information, or whether it would be deck or fixed curb mount. Although he ultimately answered the questions and offered a good price, I didn't feel that he seemed knowledgeable and I decided not to use his services again, because I feared another disappointing debacle with 'hidden surprises' after the install. I ultimately chose another company for the skylight install (highly rated on Angie's List), and indeed had to pay for the bump-out roof to be removed, new shingles, and new roof to be installed (GRRRR.....!!!). I could not have been happier with the new company who did the skylight install -- very professional, fairly priced, and knew their stuff. I would never recommend Painter Roofing & Construction because of this terrible experience earlier this year.

Frank did a fantastic job at a reasonable price (caveat: everything thing in DC is expensive). He was punctual, professional, honest, responsive, and his crew members hardworking and talented. They also accommodated our somewhat quirky schedule and dogs. We're planning to use Frank again soon.

I obtained a referral for Painter Roofing and was absolutely thrilled with the results. Frank Painter (owner and operator) has been in the roofing business for over 20+ years and has a keen grasp on the technical details of roofing and house construction. Frank was personable and quickly provided me with multiple options on the work that I wanted. More importantly, he was able to put everything in layman's terms for me. He also provided me with excellent guidance on where/how I was going to get best value (understanding that I was on a budget). The work crew was on time, performed the work in the duration promised and cleaned everything up. There was one issue with a cable but Frank identified it during his post work walk-through and had the crew come out the next day to fix the issue. Frank also found a couple of items that weren't quite right and fixed them right away. Great experience and I would recommend his services to anyone requiring roofing, gutters or general construction work.
