O'REILLY MASONRY

Bernard O'Reilly did a great job, they were working tirelessly to get the job done fast. He was on the job the whole time worked himself and supervised his workers, who worked very **** ** this. The jobsite was cleaned and it looked as clean as before they started. Well done!!

Unilaterally changed the plan to mirror the slope of the driveway rather causing an ugly slope a the garage. More importantly, his helper used too much sand in the mortar and within a month it was washing out at the top and side so much that you could put a small finger between the bricks. There were tails of sand/mortar on the edge of the driveway the first winter. Mr. O'Reilly returned the next spring after I complained about the problem and "pointed up" with properly mixed mortar. (July 2014) However, there has been considerable efflorescence plainly visible over the bottom foot that I was informed by an experienced contractor was due to failure to replace all the defective mortar. I have told him that he needs to come back to relay all the bricks with proper mortar, not to do a cosmetic point-up, but replace all the mortar, even if he has to reconstruct the brick side of the wall. Bernard was great. He took the time to work with us at matching the grout and explain the work, and his workmanship was excellent.

The work was finished on time and on budget, while I was out of town (and therefore not able to check on progress each day) which I think is a testament to his commitment. He also provided good advice on a pointing estimate I asked for (waiting for a few more years) which I think also showed his integrity. I am relatively happy with the end result. He also did not try to bill me more when the stairs required more work than originally estimated - stood by the original estimate.

O'Reilly performed the work promptly and professionally. Along the way, Bernard explained each recommendation, and he consulted with me whenever there were choices to be made (e.g., whether we should engage in a much more extensive tearing up of the drain, or adapt the poured concrete to best work with the existing drain.) The completed brickwork is beautiful, and the concrete is smooth and even. When one spot showed water seepage after a prolonged soaking (after the work was completed), Bernard returned and diagnosed the problem -- a pre-existing concrete wall that was porous enough to let the seepage occur. He patched the bottom of the wall with waterproof mortar without any additional charge. I will gladly use O'Reilly Masonry for future masonry needs!

It went great. After we marked out basically where we wanted the patio to go and the general shape, the guys came and dug out the foundation. That took a while and was more than half the total time of the whole project. Bernard explained everything that he was going to do and why, all of our options, pricing and timeline. He kept to budget and timeline well and we are very happy with the results. I have recommended his work to a couple of people looking for similar projects.

He came twice and inspected the house. He spent 15-20 minutes discussing each of our concerns. he said that while he would perform the services, the cracks were not a structural problem and should be of no more than cosmetic concern and that they were likely to reappear in a year or so. He suggested we call him again when we were ready to sell the house.

The brickwork described above was done in a very workmanlike fashion. The finished product looks great. They did the demo, repaired the cracked foundation, and leveled the foundation on day one. Laid all the bricks and did the repointing on day two. Always kept the worksite very neat and tidy.

Bernard came out immediately to bid the work out and was very thorough and professional. Bernard was one of the most competitive bids and the most thorough bid aside from the most expensive bid. We waited about two weeks to fully resolve bidding on project. Called Bernard and he indicated he could start the following week. Bernard came out with a team of two and over 2-3 days finished the work. It looks excellent and the bricks that were coming out from the side of our house are now completely perfect. We were extremely happy with Bernard's work and would recommend him again.

Returned my initial inquiry within 24 hours. Came to the home to evaluated the job, suggested process, different methods of laying the brick, importance of color match and advised what his price would cover. Very clear, concise and accurate. Job was scheduled within a week. Arrived on time, did the work himself with one assistant. Job was completed in a day with follow up clean up the following day. This is a professional company that can be trusted in you home.

Used Angie's List to contact them for a quote. They responded the same day to set up a visit to see the work that needed to get done. I had an estimate in writing in 2 days and it was 50% less than my other quote. I sent them a deposit and they finished the work in 2 days. They did a beautiful job, very impressive brick work and a extremely professional crew.

I was very pleased because the process was so quick and painless and Bernard and his workers were very professional. I was especially happy considering that it was such a small job (it always seems to be hard to find contractors willing to be responsive on small jobs). It was also a plus that he communicates through email. When I first contacted him and explained the problem he said he'd drop by later that afternoon and then call me to let me know what he thought. I didn't even have to go home to meet him, which was great. He called me that afternoon and explained what he thought needed to be done and said that the only bad thing is that he wouldn't be able to do the job for a few weeks. This wasn't an issue for us. Not only did he fix the chimney but he also fixed several loose bricks we had on the house that his guys noticed when they were there. He also repaired a piece of fascia that had come off the house for only $50 (we had previously gotten a quote for this work alone from someone else and I want to say they were going to charge us $250).

They were okay. He was good but I did not go with him. He was excellent. I would have probably gone with him if I had not gone with the other company. He was fantastic. He was fast in coming and he gave me what I expected.

Amazing!!! Brain knew what he was doing, made time in his schedule to fit the work in before Thanksgiving so that we can have a fire with the family. He not only did the work, but advised me on the health of chimneys and what repairs might be needed in the future. What an awesome experience!!

They were able to fit us into a busy schedule due to the harsh winter and finished in a few days. Bernard O'Reilly was up front on what needed to be done and did not try to convince us to re-build the porch as one contractor had done. He went out of his way to reinforce the concrete near our steps and told us we may have to do some repairs in the future but overall the porch was in good shape. We truly appreciated the honesty and integrity.

Bernard O'Reilly quickly evaluated the work needed to repair and replace some stones for the steps to my house. After viewing pictures he came by and then sent me a proposal for the least amount of work and the best restoration result. He and two other men performed most of the work while I was out of town--cleaning out old mortar and concrete and putting in new, sturdy material. Built in 1907, his work brought back the charm of the steps. When I asked him to come back to touch up two small sections, he did so immediately. He was a delight to work with and I would definitely recommend his service to everyone.
