It went great! After initially contacting Jeff, he was able to meet with me that same day and then provide me with an estimate within 24 hours. And his crew started work the next week. They worked quickly and cleanly and our house looks amazing now. I'd highly recommend them to anyone; and I look forward to working with them again on our new house!

Jeff Sellers responded to our request for a proposal right away. He made himself available to visit the office site in Tysons and assess the space and our needs. The proposal he submitted was competitive and MTD was awarded the work. Jeff worked with us to minimize disruption to the office by having his staff work during a holiday week which resulted in minimal impact. The job was executed very well, on time, excellent quality, and our company senior executives were delighted with the results. MTD is a very professional company and we would hire them again.

They did an outstanding job, on time and within the price estimate. Very professional service with caring, hands-on owner. Would recommend to family and friends for and future painting project. Of note, the look of the dark accent wall is flawless! Consistent color throughout.

I probably could have found someone to do this more cheaply (like maybe a one- or two-person company), but there's something to be said for peace of mind and quality. I found them on Angie's List and so I expected them to be good). In the end, all rooms, including the one with the wallpaper, looked beautiful. In the room with the wallpaper, no one would ever guess that the wallpaper is still there. Everything was done very neatly and cleanly. All staff were courteous and professional. They also got the job done fast. We'd likely use them again.

Merrifield was excellent. Our painters arrived in a timely fashion, they were fast, tidy workers and the end results were fabulous. Over all we were very happy with their services.

They did an excellent job. It started with Jeff returning my call within a few hours of me leaving a message. We discussed the job in detail and he said he would try to work this small job in with his others. I asked for a specific day because of other work to be done and they were able to do it that day. We kept in touch by email, which was very convenient for me. The price was very good. The painters arrived right on time. Eric and Marco (I hope I got their names right) were very polite and made sure that I got what I wanted. The job looks great and I really appreciated their willingness to work with me. I highly commend this company for any size job.

Excellent service overall. A bit pricey, and the customer relationship chap could have been a bit more receptive at times, but we were generally quite satisfied with the work.

I was very pleased. Jeff Sellers reached out by email, and once we connected, was easy to reach by phone and text. I did an in-person estimate with Jeff and with another Angie's List top provider, and their estimates came out essentially identical, which helped me know that the price was very competitive. I didn't see the work being done, but after the fact, found the lines and strokes all crisp and seamless. And I still don't know how Jeff's crew painted a corner of the room two different colors, with only an inch or two to maneuver between the trim of a closet and the trim of a door. Jeff was open to having me save money by purchasing the paint myself and even suggested it. The whole experience was easy, and I got walls a bunch of rooms that looked brand new and wonderful before we even moved in to our new house. And my 3-year old just let out screams of joy at seeing her new room. Great work!

I just kept adding scope to the work. They were very professional, friendly and they kept things clean. They were very responsive. Every time I found either flaws in the work or additional things that I wanted done, they did it in a timely fashion and in good spirits.

They were perfect to work with. When I made my short list of about 7-8 needed touch-ups and discussed this with them in the evening they completed the list the next morning in a couple hours. The difficulty in this job was they needed to paint over wallpaper as we had decided to not remove the wallpaper. This was very time-consuming and they did such a wonderful job. You cannot tell anywhere that there was ever wallpaper.

Jeff was easy to get ahold of via text and phone calls, and came by our house right away. He gave us a good estimate that included all the specifics of what was covered, what types of paint would be used in each area, etc. His price was very competitive with the other 5 companies that provided us estimates. In the end we ended up using another company that had worked for us before, but I would still use Jeff again in the future and plan to contact him about a different project in the spring.

Everything went very smoothly. Jeff Sellers was easy to get a hold of, very responsive, and helpful. After doing a thorough walk thru, he provided a clear estimate, and after we selected him, was able to get the work scheduled quickly. The crew he assigned us was on-time, courteous, diligent and conscientious throughout the job. The work was completed more quickly than we expected, and looks great. We couldn't be more pleased.

I called and asked if he would honor the deal and he said he would but he'd have to call me when he had some time. He never called and I'd like a refund.

I was very impressed with Merrifield, and the owner, Jeff. I received four quotes ranging from 3000 - 4500, and Jeff came down on the lower side. The painter was professional and punctual - he covered all of our furniture with tarp and left every room clean when he finished the work. He also stayed late each day (until 6:30) even when arriving at 8:30 to start the job. The paint looks great and I am very happy with the quality of the work. Jeff is very accessible over email and phone - it is always great to have direct contact with the owner of the company when you have a question. However, the thing that impressed me the most was when I got nervous about lead paint (I am pregnant and we live in an old house) because they had to lightly fix the walls where there were cracks. I called Jeff at 7:00 PM the first night of the job and he reassured me that they are lead paint certified, talked me through the wall repair process, and they would not be disturbing old paint. He was very professional and courteous about the call. Given the price and professionalism, I will definitely use this company in the future and recommend them to friends/family.

Jeff was very nice and gave a very competitive estimate. As a matter of fact his was the least expensive I received. I ended up choosing a different painting company simply because I felt more comfortable with another company. This was due more to personal style. I contacted three companies for estimates and the other two had administrative assistants schedule the appointments and they contacted me via phone with follow-ups, etc. Jeff seems to do his own administrative work, which allows him to charge less for his services, but I'm a bit old fashioned. Jeff and I communicated via text, which is probably great for younger folks but, as I said, I prefer knowing there was someone available to take my calls and keep things organized. I'm confident Jeff would have done a fine job and I would consider him again for future work.

This was a very long process but the painters went from step to step and got the job done. Needless to say, with all of the sanding it was a messy process. They used fans to keep the primer smell down. We were happy with the finished product. They cleaned up pretty well, but a problem was that they didn't cover the wall cabinets with plastic like they did on the counters and the dust just covered everything the more we looked we more white dust we found even into the dining room. I told Jeff about this problem and he sent 3 maids over to clean the kitchen and dining room! They did a great job and the kitchen and dining room were just spotless. Jeff gives the best customer service I've ever had. He talked to us before, during and after the job. I think you would be hard pressed to find a company that goes the extra mile to make a job perfect. I'll recommend him to everybody I know. Its nice to know that there are companies out there who really want to give good customer service. If you want the job done right get Merrified Paint and Design!

I used Angie's email service to contact the provider with details of the job I needed an estimate on. Jeff responded by telling me to call so we could discuss. I called. No answer. Left a message with callback information. My call was never returned. I have no problem with a provider turning down a job...even over the phone. What I do have a problem with is a lack of professionalism in asking someone to call and then never returning the call. Would not recommend to others because they would probably face the same unprofessionalism. Shoddy interaction with the customer usually ends up in shoddy workmanship.

Overall working with Merrifield went very well. Jeff was very prompt and thorough while doing the estimate. The work done by the painting team was very good. We were very happy with the work as there were a lot of edges and the ceiling lines looked great. We wish we had just hired them to paint the rest of the house! Only minor frustration was trying to nail down a date for the project to occur b/c our job was smaller and interior (trying to schedule around other exterior projects and the weather) - but a very minor issue. We would very much use them again!

The painters arrived early to make sure they were on time. All floors and furniture was well covered . Merrifield Paint & Design painters are very...very professional. Painted areas now look great...like a million dollars. The painters cleaned up their job very well. Ceilings, walls, crown molding all look like a million dollars. We are well satisfied with the Merrifield Paint & Design and got good value for the dollars paid out. We plan to use them again this fall to paint additional rooms.

I was very pleased with it and was impressed by the speed at which it got done!! There are a few places on the windows where they didn't removed some of the loose paint underneath, but I think the undercoat paint they used was like glue so hopefully it won't start to peel off. Also, because the upper windows don't move, there are a few places they couldn't reach with the brush. But overall, I'm very happy with it and think they did a great job!

We needed our work done pretty quickly to meet some family deadlines. The crew showed up when Jeff said they would and did a professional, fast job, easily meeting our deadline goal. Jeff worked to keep the cost down. Because we'd picked a very saturated color for one of the rooms, it needed a 3rd coat, which added a small amount to the price in terms of labor, but he was able to do it without buying another big batch of paint. We'd also forgotten to mention a couple of doors that needed to be done, which they were happy to do at the last minute. All in all, a fair price for a great job. We have more painting to do in a month or so and will definitely reach out to them again.
