Manoukian Brothers Oriental Rugs

The management was extremely kind and accommodating. Yet, upon return of the rugs one still had an odor, and two are now shedding a powder-like substance.

I dropped it off, had a longconversation about its origins, condition andwhat needed to be done to get rif of the moths. Then it wasdone.

Carpets were picked up at the agreed to date/time. Work done promptly and well. When cleaned carpets were returned the delivery folks volunteered to unroll the two largest for me which was great since I could not do it alone. All in all a good experience from beginning to end.

He is great. He is cool and he repairs. He knows his stuff. They are pretty fast. I refer people to him.

Their prices are reasonable but I was very displeased with their services. They did an inadequate job and one of the rugs was ruined. They washed the rugs too roughly and did a poor color restoration on another rug.

This is a wonderful business to work with. They know a lot about antique carpets and how to care for them. Their prices are very fair. The rugs came back very clean, and I have now dropped off others rugs at their show room to be cleaned. Highly recommended!

My initial phone contact was positive and professional. All questions were answered well. I took four room size rugs to their place of business. I live 60 miles away. The rugs were washed and dried and also I elected to have the extra pet cleaning solution used. I returned in 12 days to pick up the rugs. I have put the rugs back in use and am pleased with the work that was performed.

The experience was absolutely wonderful. The company arrived right on time to pick up the rugs; consulted on site about special stains and damage we wanted to receive special attention; and left the house clean and neat. The company returned on the exact date promised. The quality of the workmanship--both cleaning and sewing--was stellar. The replacement of the rugs was done with dispatch and efficiency.

I brought the rugs to the store and was promptly given a price to have them cleaned. The associate was very professional and even knew details about how and where the rug was made. They told me they would call when the rugs were ready. About a week and a half went by so I called to check, and the rugs were ready. Pickup and payment were a breeze. The rugs look great - I would take rugs to these guys in the future.

Based on other reports on Angie's List, I selected Manoukian Brothers to clean my 8 x 10 Chinese wool rug. It was an excellent experience. Within one day of my initial call, Mr. Manoukian arranged to come get the rug. When he came, he explained in detail how they would treat the rug and he estimated the cost and timing, both of which were very reasonable. They kept to the cost and timing. Mr. Manoukian called again to arrange to return the rug and came at the time we had arranged. They did an excellent job of cleaning. The entire experience was handled very professionally.

Manoukian Brothers was great! The salespeople spent time with us in the store helping us pick out which oriental rug to get. Once we had narrowed it down to 3, we arranged with them to have all 3 delivered so that we could see how they looked in our living room. The delivery man hauled all of them up to our condo (and they are heavy!) and spread them out so that we could see them with the color scheme and lighting in our home. We made our selection and have been very pleased with the quality of our rug. We also had them take a smaller old rug of ours back to the store and clean it. It looks brand new now! All of the people we dealt with were courteous, prompt, and professional. I have heard horror stories about other oriental rug stores marking up prices and then advertising 50% off sales. Compared to others I have seen, Manoukian Brothers has very reasonable prices and is very reputable. I also appreciate that I am buying from a family-owned business that has been in business in DC for 90 years.

It went extremely well.....I called and arranged for pick up. The driver helped me get one rug rolled up as it was under my dining table...the other two were ready to go. They called after the cleaning was done and talked to me about repair, which I authorized. I also needed new pads so they brought those as well..........far better ones than I was using before. When the driver returned the rugs, he offered to help me put them down again but I decided to wait until I do some rearranging. I will definitely use their services again and may purchase rugs from them in the future.

Overall a very relaxed and pleasant shopping experience--I will use them again.

We had been using Manoukian Brothers before we were Angie's List members and lost track of them. Angie's List helped us find them again. They have always been on time for pickup and delivery, the price is good and the work is excellent. Our Morroccan carpet looks brand new after this last cleaning.

They never called or emailed me! So it went badly!

They created a throw pillow out of part of my old rug - something that a notable sewing company in the area had declined to do. It is beautiful. Also, they allowed me to bring 3 rugs home to try them in the space, and I ended up purchasing one. It is now the soul of my living room. Manoukian's is a local gem in business since 1922. Before you buy your next rug at Pottery Barn, I highly recommend checking them out.

They were excellent and worked with me on the pricing. I have used them for 25 years for rug cleaning and purchasing new rugs.

They were on the list. I spent about $280. They are not warm, but they did a great job. I thought that the price I paid was high, but when I thought about it, it seemed to be pretty reasonable for the cleaning. They replaced some fringe because some of the rugs were really unraveling on the binding. They did the work within the time frame.

It went well — the stain was tough insofar as it smelled bad. They are experienced with expensive rugs, know the details how treat them as well as follow-up with the customer. I would recommend calling them.

Is this really our ratty old rug? It looks gorgeous. The colors are vibrant, the nasty spots are gone, and we found out for the first time that those beige triangles are actually a beautiful shade of winter white. Who knew? Manoukian did a magnificent job at a fair price. The convenient free parking behind the store and the helpful staff made the experience even better.

Responsive and provided great personal service

Beautiful work! We saved money by delivering and picking up the carpets. We enjoyed talking with one of the Manoukian family, who told us things we'd never known about the origin of our carpets. The process took about ten days.

Although Manoukian Brothers carries antique rugs in many sizes, the one I purchased was new as quite small. I was treated with the same courtesy and consideration as I would have been if I had been making a much larger purchase. The rug I purchased is of excellent quality and I am very happy with it. I look forward to shopping at Manoukian Brothers in the future.
