Majestic Moving and Storage

Our team of 4 movers arrived promptly. They loaded the truck and unloaded all of all belongings within the specified time frame. One of our beds was damaged in the move, they brought it in for repair with out question or hassle. They came back a week later (during the blizzard of 2010) with the repaired part and set up the bed for us. They were great to work with, and we are very happy with our experience. They seem to be a very consumer oriented company.

The service was fantastic. I called and Ovander agreed to the job, scheduled for the following morning, showed up on time and did the move with zero disruption.

The whole move went extremely well. Ovando arrived promptly for the estimate. Gave me a " binding " estimate, which apparently meant, it couldn't go over that amount. The movers were courteous, professional and quick both packing up and moving. There was a little minor damage...broken glass in one picture, one scraped piece of furniture, but nothing substantial.

It worked out great! Awesome! They did a good job overall. They were professional.

Majestic made my small move the day after I called them. There were absolutely no surprises; the movers did a great job, and treated an extremely heavy antique chest with great care.

Wonderfully. They arrived ontime and were courteous and fast. They were careful and wrapped the pieces of furniture. There was no damage to the furniture or walls when moving out of my condo or into my townhome. Since I was moving from a carpeted floor location to a wood floor location, I wanted to put on feet protectors at the townhome. The workers accomodated me by holding up the furniture while I quickly added the protectors. This was much appreciated. I would definately use Majestic again.

Outstanding from beginning to end. The estimator, Ovando, was courteous, polite, professional. All members of the move-out and move-in teams were the same way. Prices were about 15% less than several other estimates I got - I honestly would have paid more, Majestic was that good. Several minor scratches in furniture and floors. Majestic arranged for third company to come out and repair scratches at their expense. Highly recommended.

I did a search on Angie's List for movers and initially contacted Majestic Movers through their website. I got an auto-response email, but never a follow-up phone call. I did have to call them a couple of days later and explained how I filled out their online form. They apparently looked it up and called me back within a reasonable time frame. They gave me an accurate estimate over the phone (including a discount for Angie's List members) which I thought was quite fair. On moving day, the 2 movers showed up 15 minutes early, which was a pleasant surprise. They moved my furniture quickly and safely. They also made sure it was placed exactly where I wanted in my new place. Overall the service was outstanding - I would definitely use them again and will recommend them to anyone who needs a mover.

Majestic movers arrived on time at the house in Northern Virginia and very carefully padded and wrapped the pieces. They disassembled a small, delicate, antique china cabinet to make sure it would be safe. They then took the pieces to their storage facility until they could they could become part of a truckload going in the right direction. This happened remarkably quickly. My sister's china cabinet was reassembled in the location she specified, inside her North Carolina home. The movers who did this work were efficient, careful, and extremely pleasant. My pieces, also antique but not as fragile, arrived in Chicago soon thereafter, also without any kind of damage at all. I cannot overstate how pleased we were with the service provided by Majestic.

I'm so happy I found this moving company! I donated a TV to a charity and emailed 3 moving companies to see what the rates would be for a move that would take no more than an hour. I received emails or calls from all 3 right away but the other 2 companies had a 3 hour minimum with higher rates. Majestic came in right on the nose for the amount that I was willing to spend and would have moved the TV within 2 days! I called to make the delivery appointment for the following week. On 12/4 the 2 movers came on time, helped me to unplug the very large piece, wrapped up the TV and taped it securely. The TV was loaded on the truck and they followed me to the charity site. Everything went smoothly and the TV was up and running in a matter of minutes. I will use this company again and have referred their name to others. Their truck was clean and their employees were dressed professionally for their line of work. This is a quality organization that believes in and practices great customer service!

I cannot speak highly enough about Ovando and his men. We got three estimates from Angie's List Honor Roll. The estimates were $8200.00; $6200.00; and $4300.00. Majestic Moving was the cheapest. The entire experience, from the helpful and charming Kanika in the office, to Ovando (who came personally) and his men, could not have been more positive. After the initial contact and estimate (I was not present for the estimate itself), the contract arrived two days later. This was about 2 months in advance of the move. Two weeks before the move, I called and asked for packing boxes. When they did not arrive on the scheduled day, I called. Kanika apologized profusely, and told me she would have men over that very afternoon with the boxes. The men arrived with boxes, tape, bubble wrap, wrapping paper, etc as promised. On the day of the move, Ovando and the men took extreme care with all of our possessions. They spent one day packing, and moved the next day. Nothing was broken or marred. The men were so considerate, professional, good-natured and careful. They set everything up in the new house exactly as we specified. The baby grand piano was moved with expert care and set up perfectly in the new house. We weren't actually vacating the old house until two weeks later, and we spent those two weeks organizing many, many boxes of possessions in the basement (no furniture). At the last minute, we needed help with those boxes, because we just couldn't get it done in time. Kanika, with only 24 hours notice, sent us a 20-foot truck and three men the very next day. The handled everything within 3 hours and charged us only $250! We tipped the men both times. I also sent Kanika a large gift box of gourmet cookies as a "thank you". I have never sent a moving company any sort of "thank you" gift. Other moving experiences have been either just okay, or horrible. Majestic Moving and Storage is a terrific company and a great experience. Professional, trustworthy, professional, reliable, very pleasant to work with. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The day after I first called Majestic the company?s owner, Ovando Thelwell, personally came to my home to provide the estimate. Actually, it wasn?t an estimate, but a firm price, which he provided the next morning. My first surprise was that it was considerably lower than estimates I had received previously from several other moving companies with ?nationally recognized? names. My second surprise was that, unlike all the other movers I had contacted (before I joined Angie?s List in the first place), Majestic would deliver my belongings not only on the day I needed, but at the precise time of day I wanted ? all at no additional cost! When his crew arrived to pack my stuff it was a group of well equipped professionals who knew what to do and how to do it ? the term ?perfectly orchestrated? came to mind! Another real plus was that my goods were not re-moved into another larger truck for the 500 mile journey, with the accompanying chance that items would be damaged or lost ? they stayed in the same truck in which they were originally loaded. True to Ovando?s promise, the truck and the friendly and efficient crew arrived precisely when promised and my goods were unloaded carefully and quickly, with no damage. The crew even moved several large items a couple times because I changed my mind about where I wanted them and they did this with a smile ? actually a couple of smiles. About 18 months after the move I couldn?t find a family heirloom that I was ?absolutely certain? was moved by Majestic. I called Ovando and explained the situation to him. His immediate and only reaction was honest concern that one of his customers wasn?t completely satisfied. Not once did he get defensive or imply that he wasn?t responsible. Rather, he said that he would immediately check the original manifest and call his crew to see if anyone remembered the lost item. I was so impressed with this that I looked one more time in other areas where my lost heirloom might be. Well, and you?ve probably guessed it by now, I found the item still hidden where I?d put it before the move for ?safe keeping.? When I called Ovando back with the egg still on my face, he was just as gracious as before and just as pleased as I that the errant heirloom had been found. There may be other movers as honest, efficient, careful, cost effective, and timely as Majestic somewhere in the world, but from the stories I?ve heard they are incredibly rare. But all you really need is one, right?

Ovando, the owner, came and did an in-person estimate. He was very professional. The estimate included a "not-to-exceed" price. His crew did a good job. Even though they went an hour longer than the estimate, I was charged the not-to-exceed price. I would definitely use them again.

I found Majestic on Angie's list. Ovando, I believe, came out to do an estimate. I'm very wary of movers - my family has been ripped off too many times. So I was thrilled they gave me a fixed price with EVERYTHING included. This includes tape and boxes, which is where my mom had once gotten taken for a thousand dollars. Anyway, they came on time with 4 guys and were careful about objects. I had the wood base to a coffee table chip and a cheap back to a buffet move out of place, but that's it. No problems with artwork or other delicate objects. They weren't as careful as I'd have liked of the wood floors in the new place, but I suppose that happens. They weren't dropping objects or bumping into walls or anything. They got everything moved in about 5 hours. I would use them again.

I was very pleased with their work. They arrived a few minutes early and started working immediately. Everyone worked very hard, having to carry everything up the tight stairs from the basement. Nothing was broken or damaged in the process. At the storage facility they packed everything well. It turned out that we had quite a bit of unused space in the storage facility that turned out to be an advantage in the future since we added to it later on.

Huge success. The guy who showed up at our house to give an estimate was on time, polite, and efficient; he said he'd email us a quote later that day, and he did. The woman we spoke to at the central office was friendly, professional and well-organized. And the movers themselves were very friendly and professional as well - they worked well together as a team, like a well-oiled machine; very efficient.

Great from start. Very nice lady on phone, quickly got back to me with estimate (I had detailed inventory for move). Kept in touch and moved the date once when my circumstances changed with no problem at all. On day of move, the movers were on time, quick but careful loading. Then came down and did great job getting into driveway. I have steep and curvy driveway and they negogiated it perfectly. Last movers I had took 45 minutes to get same size truck into drive and ran over my drive edging on both sides. They did it perfectly in 5 minutes with no mishaps. Unloaded quickly - but carefully. Were friendly and helpful in moving couple of items more than once - helped spot a problem that we had not noticed. All in all - would hire again anytime.

Crew arrived early. was very professional and thorough. we haven't finished unpacking everything, but nothing broken so far and very happy overall with experience

Majestic moved a heavy buffet from a basement to the first floor. The two men arrived earlier than scheduled but that was okay. The men were polite and nice. They carefully wrapped the buffet in moving pads and were very careful as they negotiated up the staircase (11 steps). They were efficient and there was no damage to either the furniture (buffet) or the walls of the staircase. Getting the quote and making the appointment also went well. Kanika at Majestic was friendly and prompt with the estimate. She said she would call back with the estimate within 15 to 20 minutes and she did so.

They were quick and friendly, and they handled my stuff well. Though I packed 90% of my possessions, they packed and handled the other items (mattress, box spring, flat-screen TV, a few large framed pictures, etc.) well and at no extra charge.

I have used Majestic for two of my full moves in the past. From an apartment to another apartment and then this last year I moved from an apartment to a house. I love Majestic because they just take all the stress out of the ordeal. So when my friends and I had discussed an exchange of furniture, I thought of calling Majestic to see if they could just do it all on a Sunday morning. I knew the move would go smoothly, because it's Majestic. All of the other parties (Residence A, B and C) have reported that the movers (three guys) were just wonderful. They arrived exactly at 9AM (the scheduled arrival time) at Residence A. They were nice, polite, careful with the furniture and willing to move furniture that was not in the original agreement. My friends originally didn't want to go the route of a moving company but are now so glad we did. It was Residence A and B's first experience with Majestic and they are now new fans and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Move went very smoothly. The crew was professional, friendly, efficient, and careful. They started out a little later than expected, but I was called very early to alert me to the approximately 1 hour delay. They worked hard, despite the hot and humid summer day, with multiple stairways and some tight turns. Also, they had to move a piano. Additionally, we contracted with them to move our personal washer and dryer from the 2nd floor laundry room in the rental townhouse to our new home, and the washer and dryer from the basement of the townhome up 2 long flights of stairs to the laundry room where our landlord had them installed originally. They also moved a side-by-side refrigerator from the garage at the townhome to the basement of the new home.

Could not have asked for better service. Estimator showed up on time and gave me a "not to exceed" price in writing. Movers showed up on time, were professional, polite, and went out of their way to ensure that I was happy with the service. My couch would not fit in the elevator at the new place, so they carried it all the way around the building and up three flights of stairs to get it in here. The move actually took 1 1/2 hours longer than the estimated time due to several logistical issues like that, but I still only was asked to pay the original estimate amount. Everything was delivered safely - nothing was broken or damaged.

We were very happy with the work that Majestic did for us. We have had bad experiences with other moving companies in the past and this was by far our best experience. The only negatives were: (1) the movers were supposed to show up at 8 am and did not arrive until about 8:50 am, (2) they broke one of our lamps during the move, and (3) while unloading, they dropped a couple of boxes because they were pushing the hand cart too fast down the moving truck?s ramp. With regard to the broken lamp, we reported the damage to Tanika at Majestic. To their credit, they issued us a refund of $75 for the damage ? this took about a week or two to resolve, but they did so without arguing with us about the damage. Regarding the third item, there was no damage to the contents of the boxes they dropped, but the mover who dropped them did not seem to care that he had done so (and did not apologize). Overall, the move itself went very well. We had a crew of 4 guys, who wrapped all our furniture and none of it was damaged (other than the lamp). The owner, Ovando, had estimated that it would take five to six hours, but the move took only 4 1/2 ? and we were charged accordingly. Also, Ovando gave us an extra 5% discount for agreeing to move our moving date, because the day we originally desired was a busy one for his company. For the most part, the guys were hard working and did not slow down the entire time. We will most likely hire Majestic for our next move.

They picked up my stuffs and had in storage until I moved. The owner was very good and gave an estimate. They were professional and they did the packing very well. Their pricing was reasonable as well. The quality of their work was very good and I was satisfied with their service.
