The owner came out to do a quote and it was very competitive. The cost even included most of the packing!

We called Majestic based on Angie's List referrals. Ovando came over and was very friendly personable, offering discounts here and there for us being teachers, Angie's List, etc. Price came down by almost $100 after all discounts. Boxes showed exactly as scheduled a week later. On moving day, movers showed up 2 hours early and surprised us. We thought that was a negative at first, but 8 hours later, we were glad they did. Most of our frustration was from the chaos of packing up and getting things ready, no negative reflection whatsoever on the 3 guys who did the moving. In fact, they were patient, VERY hardworking gentlemen. Afterward, we could not find our microwave. It was late, the kids were hungry, so not having it was a major pain. Again, NOT THE FAULT OF MAJESTIC; we just didn't know which box it was in. We called the company trying to get help tracking it down, but it was late at night. The next morning (Sunday!), Kanika from Majestic called and helped us. She got in touch with the lead mover (Jimmy, I think) and then got back to us with enough clues to find the microwave. All was well! Overall, great company. We recommend.

They showed up on time, did everything correct. I had no disappointments with them at all.

I called three moving and storage companies from Angie's List to get price quotes and information. Ovando, the owner of Majestic Moving & Storage, was the only one who had a competitive price and offered to come to my home to assess the project so he could pinpoint the costs. I decided to go with Majestic based on the accounts from Angies List and the better price quote, but my own experience far exceeded my expectations. The experience from start to finish was fantastic! I sold my home before we found a replacement home so I knew I was going to need storage services. Majestic provided it all -- move-in, storage and move-out services all at a competitive and lower price than the competition. The movers contacted me slightly ahead of the scheduled moving time to notify me they could arrive a little earlier to get a head start. Three movers arrived to wrap my furniture and move boxes from my 3 bdrm house. They wrapped everything, dismantled the beds and carefully placed all my belongings on the truck to go to the storage site. Several months later, when we finally settled on a home, I called to arrange move-in services for my belongings from storage. The move-in to the new home went very smoothly. Two movers arrived on time and took 3 hours to move my furniture and boxes in the home. They were so good about making sure the boxes went into the respective rooms. The entire team at Majestic was professional, efficient and attentive. I really appreciated the quality of the service they provided.

Ovando came and gave an in-person estimate. He was very thorough and explained everything well. We were due to move on the huge snowstorm on Dec. 26, 2009. Ovando even said he would attempt it on that day if we were up for it. We did not want to attempt it and so he pushed it back until the next day. The movers arrived on time and were very quick and careful. There were more movers helping than were on the estimate sheet, but we were not charged for this. Every article of furniture was wrapped in padding. They drove to the new house, helped us shovel the driveway and steps, and began to unload. They asked where every box and article of furniture should go. They were careful to lay cardboard on the hardwood floor so as to not track water/snow/mud. The price was what was on the estimate. Very professional and very good. I highly recommend them to everyone and will use them again in the future.

We called for an estimate about a month before our move from our townhouse and were promptly given a date for the estimate to take place. Mr. Ovando Thelwell punctually arrived for the estimate and efficiently moved through all three levels of our townhouse making notes. He was friendly, easy to communicate with and was very observant. He noticed military items about our home and offered us a veteran discount. Ovando additionally asked important questions like did we have anything outside the home that needed to be moved (we had forgotten about items in the storage shed out back). The estimate only took about 15 minutes but was very thorough. Ovando determined that packing would take half a day with 3 packers and moving the next day would take 7 hours with 4 movers working. We were given a written estimate of $2,380. The packers arrived right on time and got to work. They were extremely quick, efficient and used new boxes and clean packing materials. I was impressed with the items they didn't pack. They were kind enough not to pack anything that we needed overnight (shampoo, toothbrushes, towels, etc.). They also left the couches and tv unpacked until the next day so that we could watch tv that night. All room items were kept together so that when they unpacked, everything ended in the same room in the new house. The next day they finished packing the items they left for us the day before. Our couches were covered with padding and they shrink wrapped in plastic so as not to get dirty during the move. Clothes were packed in hanging boxes and pictures were covered and then packed in picture boxes. They thought of everything and obviously knew what they were doing. The move was just as efficient and well organized with four guys working. Again they arrived on time and got straight to work. The remaining items were packed and then everything was put onto the moving truck. The entire time they just kept working and that's saying something since several members of my family were watching World Cup soccer on tv. The guys were obvious soccer fans but only would ask what the current score was when they walked by to take items to the moving truck (very professional!). Packing the truck took about 4 hours. We then drove ahead of the moving truck to the new location, only stopping by a fast food restaurant to grab lunch on the way (honestly, that's all they asked for). Once at our new house, they got familiar with the layout. They even put down plastic on the new carpet pathways (without me asking). The next three hours entailed the guys quickly placing items in the correct rooms and unpacking them. Yes, I said "unpacking". They probably would have unpacked everything except I didn't know where I wanted everything yet. True to the estimate, the move took 7 hours. Nothing was lost or broken and only one wall suffered some marks (from moving an enormous refrigerator to the basement and the marks came off with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser). Additionally, the final cost was about $50 less than the estimate. (Hey, $50 is $50!) I know you're asking about the boxes they didn't unpack. They said to call the office once we had finished unpacking to arrange a date to pick up the remaining boxes. So once we had finished unpacking (about a month later) we arranged to have the boxes picked up and indeed they were! Overall, we really feel that we got more than our money's worth. We were truly impressed with the packing and moving and would honestly recommend Majestic Moving to our friends, family and you!

I found this company through Angie's list. They were very punctual, professional and respectful. Everything went extremely well and without any issues. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again. Thanks for a great job...

I called Majestic and set up an appointment for them to come to our apartment to provide a quote on moving and storing our household goods. Ovando was prompt and courteous. He provided a quote that was competitive with the companies we interviewed. We would have chosen Majestic except that we have some antique furniture that would have to be stored for a year and a half. We needed a facility that specialized in long-term storage for antique furniture. Therefore, we went with a company that met those requirements. However, if we had just been moving (no storage required) or did not have the antiques, we would have chosen Majestic.

The move could not have been smoother, from the original estimate by the owner, Ovando Thelwell, to the unloading of the last box. There was no breakage. A small scratch appeared in one leaf of our dining table; the claim was handled quickly and professionally by Kanika Thelwell, who runs the business with her husband. The company's slogan is "Grace and Dignity in Moving," and that's exactly what they provide. The crew was punctual, professional, and polite, and our belongings were handled with care.

Great first meeting and estimate; very professional and knowledgeable. Offered tips for how we could save money. Very flexible and accommodating--happy to fit our needs and schedule. Arrived on time for packing day. Done quickly and efficiently. Moving day. Amazing! The power went out the night before the move. On moving day, we had no power at either house! The team was unfazed. They arrived on time, were fast, professional, friendly, and never let on that anything was problematic, despite the fact that it was unbelieveably hot, we had nothing cold to offer them, and they had to do some loading and unload in almost pitch darkness! They finished on time and under budget. We recommend Majestic without reservation and would gladly call them again!

Called on Friday, got an appt for Monday ( having housr renovated, piano gets a new room). They showed on time. Very personable and friendly. I was interested in process, so they explained everything. Quick service, professional work, good price (called 2 others, price was double).

I had had a terrible move one year ago with another company (Imperial Movers) but this A.L. highly-rated firm, Majestic Movers, exceeded my expectations and did a great job. Kanika was helpful from the first call and the movers were available on the day I needed, quoting very reasonable rates. Although we had planned on three movers, one person called in sick leaving the other 2 guys to pick up his slack. I think the guys waited around for the 3rd man to show, and this made them a little late, but they called promptly and said they were on their way. I appreciated the call (they arrived in 20 not the anticipated 30 minutes) and it seemed very reasonable that they would wait for the 3rd man until he gave word he would not show. Only 2 guys instead of 3 made me nervous that the move would take unreasonably long, but Tongay (sp?) and Ladarien (sp?) hustled from the beginning to the very end completing the job in only a few minutes more than I had anticipated it would take three people. The guys were careful in wrapping furniture, and worked hard to fit a sleeper sofa into a tricky basement by carefully removing the door from its hinges and the feet from the sofa. (Success!) We're still unpacking, but so far nothing seems broken or harmed at all. Great move. Highly recommended.

Majestic Moving and Storage moved my family from one house to another, with temporary storage. From the beginning, it was a great experience. The owner, Ovando, conducted an in-person estimate and clearly explained their guaranteed pricing and how to save some money during the move. On move day, the guys came in and efficiently packed up the house and moved it all into storage for about 60 days. They were equally efficient re-delivering the household goods and nothing was broken. Great moving company, highly recommended!

They are great. They are economical, pleasant to deal with, and they go the extra mile.

Majestic was fabulous. They came on time, stuck to their price, and packed and moved carefully. It was my first move where nothing broke!

Member Comments: If I may echo a report posted on November 17, 2009, I cannot speak highly enough of this company (patience over the phone and in-person with clients, knowledgeable owners, efficient and pleasant movers and packers). In this day and age, it is rare to obtain excellent service, especially service from pleasant people with a ?let?s get it done right? work ethic. Although the movers were a little late on Day #2 due to fueling the truck, everything went well without a hitch. As a member of Angie?s List, I had been reviewing movers for close to a year and I was pretty much leaning toward Majestic after reading the reports. Nonetheless, I did the required due diligence/homework, i.e., scheduled on-site estimates [obtained a total of 5 estimates], researched web sites re: industry & governmental compliances. Needless to say, Majestic still proved to be the winner. Due to an out-of-town family emergency and a personal matter, I must now make my moving a ?phased move? and will be hiring Majestic again in the very near future. I must also add that the packers were very careful and the driver drove safely (I have not seen this last comment on other reports). If I may again echo a portion of another report, Majestic Moving & Storage is a terrific company (all the workers were great) and comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. (For persons who will be moving in the future and need to have items packed on one day and moved another: even if the original packers do not return to perform the actual move, do not be concerned as this company has a great "team" oriented strategy among the workers.)

I was moving from a medium-sized apartment into a townhouse and the move went very smoothly. I received a quote over the phone by describing the furniture I had, number of pieces, etc, as well as an estimate of the number of boxes I would be moving. The customer service over the phone was great - polite and understanding. I had to reschedule my moving date approximately 5 days before my move and was able to do so with no problem. On moving day, I had 3 movers who were courteous, experienced, and moved fast. They wrapped all of my furniture, including my flat-screen TV (52") with great care and, as a result, nothing was damaged in the move. I was amazed at how well they navigated the narrow staircase at my new place with some of my large pieces of furniture. The initial over-the-phone estimate turned out to be accurate and the final cost was right in the middle. Overall it was a great move - I highly recommend their moving services and will be using them again if I decide to move in the future.

Everything was great and we have no material complaints at all. Ovando Thelwell did the estimate himself and there were 3 movers and a truck who came out on the move day. The guys were courteous, punctual, fast, and professional. We have a healthy amount of furniture for a condo (our condo is really like a small townhome without a basement), and everything was moved, packaged, and padded efficiently and quickly. The final cost was actually LOWER than the estimate. Yes, you read that right -- lower. They shaved a half hour off of the estimated time of completion (probably because of the instructions I mentioned above) and that came out to almost 10% in savings. it's cool that they actually bill in 30 min. increments.

They were very nice. The only thing is that I think the job was under assessed. They only sent two guys where three probably would have been better. The man was there and he saw my wardrobe, and they said that they couldn't dissemble it. It was a bit inconvenient not having my wardrobe for a couple of extra hours. I also ordered the boxes from them, and the quantity they gave me was right on. If I do move again, I most certainly would use them in the future.

Fantastic experience. I have moved over a dozen times with the military, and Majestic did as good a job as any of those companies before. They were prompt and efficient. Nothing was broken, everything was handled with care, they were friendly and fast, everything arrived. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them again!

From the time Ovando came to give me an estimate to the last box being unloaded at the new house- everything was done with care and with the utmost professionalism!! This was the best moving company I have ever used and we have moved quite a bit over the last several years.

BETTER THAN EXCELLENT Before the move we had many questions and Kinika (at their office) was SO patient and helpful. Thanks Kinika! Mom had so much china, Majestic came to wrap and pack on the first day and load the truck, move and unload the second day. Each item was individually wrapped and packed with paper cushion. We were worried about the delicate stuff but nothing was broken in the move During the packing a single glass fell and the young man called us over to tell us immediately. Accidents happen and honesty counts for alot. I think the pricing was more than fair for the amount of work these guys did. The whole crew was efficient, professional and curteous. At the new building the building guy who was sort of overseeing the operation said he'd never seen a crew hussle as good as these guys. If I ever have to move again, this is the only company I'll call. Thank you Ovando and all the guys. I will recommend to to anyone I know who needs a mover.

The person did in home estimating was very polite and determined it was a 3 people 8 hour job. The estimated price was $855. Two people showed up on time on the moving day. They worked very quick and fast with only a 5 mins break for lunch. Everything was smooth and nothing was damaged. At the end of day I was given a $1125 bill. But I paid it and gave them a good tip for their hard work. There is nothing really to complain and they moved a lot more book then estimated. ( All books in my book case was double layered.) I was happy with the whole thing and the price. But after about week I received a letter from the moving company. That was a refund check !! They refunded the different between the estimating and the price I paid. You cannot beat that ! This company keep their words. We were in good hand. I am sure I will use them again.

Ovando was very punctual and professional when he provided the quote for the two stage move and storage. All the movers were very careful with the items moved in stage one to storage. For the items that I couldn't find a way to pack they found a way quickly and safely. Each piece of furniture was separately wrapped in pads and blankets. As far as price goes, I would say they are completely fair. Obviously, each quote will depend on the amount of goods to be moved, but for my small condo the estimate was 375 for move+75/mo for storage and 825 for the final move.
