Majestic Moving and Storage

Majestic is indeed a professional business operation in its highest form. Not only did they personally assess my moving needs, taking a walk through of furniture before the move, they confirmed the moving date the day before. The two movers were excellent - they moved quickly and were very thorough. I was given an initial estimate of 5 hours to move (including 1 hour travel time) - the movers did it in 4 - so I paid a lot less !! I did pack very well and had things organized to make things go faster - so if you do that, that is key. They arranged furniture as I asked and everything was moved without a nick or hitch. I'd highly recommend Majestic and I would definitely use them again - no more trying to get friends to help and no one being available when you need them.

The move went extremely well. They were accommodating and helpful. They are a family run company. We did not have any problems. We were so happy with them we would use them again.

They arrived on time, carefully packed all items. The staff and crew were professional and provided excellent service. The office staff was professional and friendly. They made the move easy both times we used them. The price was a good value and the Crew Chief Jimmie and the crew did excellent work.

Movers arrived promptly. All were courteous and friendly. More packing was required then I had requested. No problem for these gentlemen. Pcking and moving was done in a timely manner. Very pleased with this company.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the entire team at Majestic Moving. The move went perfect. Jimmy and his partner arrived here in MD that Tuesday morning to pack up the items and to take the car. We met them in WI on that Friday for delivery. They were professional, hard working, and very attentive to making sure that everything was packaged carefully for the move out and equally careful in delivery upon arrival. Prior to the move, Kinika answered every single one of my questions in a very timely manner both verbally and via email. She was a pleasure to work with. These guys are fantastic. Ovando came to my home, and did and in-person estimate, free of charge. He immediately applied the 5% Angie's List discount. He asked wise questions about the furniture, was clear and articulate in the responsibilities and costs, and was tremendously friendly and polite. The team showed up about 15 minutes late, but called to give me an update. They moved my entire apartment (600 sq ft) out of a 4th story walk-up in 2 hours, and loaded it into my new house in about 30. Efficient, professional, protective of my possessions, and they hustled like a fat kid chasing a donut down a hill. Payment was a snap, they showed me the math to explain the costs, they came in well under their estimate. I cannot say enough good things about Majestic. When folks ask me for a recommendation in the future, I'll have two words: "Hire Majestic." Worth every penny and then some.

The movers were great. They arrived about an hour late due to traffic but were consistent about calling to let us know where they were and when they thought they'd arrive. So their communication was perfect. They got all our stuff loaded in the truck and managed to fit everything but our compost bin -- no small feat with our packed home. This included carrying boxes and heavy furniture up and down stairs and breaking down our Sleep Number bed. At the new house, they did all the unloading and got things placed in our new home based upon the color coding system we'd established (certain colors of tape corresponded to specific rooms). We got three moving estimates. Majestic, which I had used in a previous move about six years earlier, was the only one that would give us a not-to-exceed estimate and that, along with my previous experience, was the factor that lead us to choose them. And that ended up saving us several hundred dollars since the move took longer than each estimate had anticipated. We would definitely use them again.

Overall a very good expereience. I would use them again. Staff was very professional, and management/owner was honest / resonable to work with.

We were planning to replace the carpet in the family room and the carpet company would not be responsible for moving our heavy player piano. I contacted Majestic and explained the situation---they asked a few questions and gave me an estimate on the phone. Two men appeared at the exact appointment time and went to work immediately. I was concerned about the piano fitting through the doorway but they were reassuring, removing the door and replacing it when they finished. They even placed the piano against the far wall of the garage so it would be out of the way. I was amazed that they could lift this monstrous piece of furniture and squeeze it through a doorway with less than an inch to spare! I would strongly recommend this company!

The packer arrived on time and immediately started work. I was impressed with how quickly, efficiently, and carefully they packed up my belongings. On day two the truck arrived and next thing I know they have it complely loaded and ready to go to the new apartment. Then the truck is unloaded without a scratch to any of my furniture and they were done. FANTASTIC MOVE. What I like most of all was that they finished below estimate. I HIGHLY recommend Majestic Moving.

Movers arrived on time and were friendly. They did a good job packing our furniture so that it would not be damaged. They were not very careful in removing the furniture from the old house; they banged up the walls a bit. But, when they arrived at the new home, they were very careful. They placed mats and plastic down throughout the house so that they would not dirty the floors. They were careful moving and unpacking the furniture. They did the job within the amount of time they estimated and the job came in slightly lower cost than they estimated (!!). These guys were thorough, friendly and efficient. I would use them again.

I had heard horror stories about moving companies but Majestic Moving performed perfectly and without a glitch. In short, if you don't use them you are making a big mistake. They were absolutely professional, they packed my family's stuff ( lot's of fragile and antique items) with the same care I would have. My family moved from Baltimore to Cincinnati and not a single item was broken or even scratched. They stored all my belongings in a climate controlled environment while I got things squared away with the new home. The price was very reasonable and fair. They filled up 2 huge trucks worth of stuff ( 3,500sq/ft home) in one day. This company behaved and performed the way one expects an "A" class company to perform. Thank you Majestic and thank you Angies List.

No damanges at all. Were very responsive and did a very good job. I would certainly use them again.

Ovando came over to my apartment and gave me a maximum estimate and planned the whole move including the parking of the van. On move day, two employees came to the apartment and even though I wasn't quite finished packing, the movers were very friendly and helped wrap and box some items. They set up wardrobe boxes for me and ran the elevator. They did a thorough job in less than 4 hours for the whole move (with almost an hour drive in between load and unload). The whole move came in under the estimate!

Ovando was terrific on the estimate, and came in well below the other moving estimates we got (5 in total). I was worried about the amount of time & people he estimated to pack prior to moving, so he cheerfully added 3 more guys with no hassle at all. Fortunately, they were super fast & efficient. Unfortunately, they ran out of boxes by 1:30 pm! We hoped they would go and retrieve more to finish the packing job that day, but they left and came back the next day to finish the large items that were left and load the the trucks. Unfortunately this took longer than expected - but went very smoothly and the crew was extremely professional and efficient. They blew me away with the speed and quality of the packing for the price. Definitely would recommend and use again.

They take their job seriously and don't slack off. They work really hard. They did a really good job and they really stand out to me. Everything is fine. Nothing was damaged. Their service was outstanding and there is nothing to complain about. I will definitely be hiring them again in two weeks to move my parents as they are moving in with me. I would definitely recommend them.

We are so impressed by the service provided and it started right when I first met the owner who came & did our estimate. He was really personal, helpful and professional. We also had another moving company come and do an estimate (quotes were comparable). But we chose Majestic right away based on my first impression. On moving day, 4 guys showed up. They were very efficient and fast. We were still packing boxes like crazy and they just worked around us. There was clear communication too. Our furniture: mirrors, dressers, beds etc were moved without much damage When we got to our new place which had a lot of stairs, the crew did an awesome of moving the boxes to their designated locations in the house. We had more than 120+ boxes! (I really don't know how we managed to accumulate so much stuff) and it was HARD work to climb all that stairs. But the crew did it so cheerfully. They even helped us set up our furniture and not just left pieces lying around. My husband and I were on the main level directing where the boxes should go. And when we went up to the 2nd level to check, they had already set up all our bedroom furniture (master bedroom & kid room)! We were so impressed at their attention to detail. We got takeout lunch for everyone. The crew was so grateful & they kept expressing their thankfulness. Such lovely company to work with. Our move was completed in 4-5 hours (best $900 i had spent in a while :)We highly recommend Majestic Movers and will definitely use them again for our next move.

They were so accommodating for her move. He earns an A+. He runs a tight ship. It is a very professional operation, they are quick, and the prices are great. I would always use them. They are better than companies in the past.

The bottom line is I think Majestic did a very good job and I would definitely hire them again or refer them to someone. A couple items stood out as unpleasant surprises after the move, though, so for this move I would give them a B. I could have been more diligent, but I didn't expect to encounter some of the problems. Their crew was very polite, hard working, and careful of protecting furniture and the houses. They spoke both English and Spanish. We have moved both cross county with the military with them handling 2/3 to all of the work and also have moved locally on our own dollar. Total moves have been about 10. Most were decent to very good. One horrible. I had an in-home estimates from highly rated Angie's list movers with all prices being reasonably close. All companies looked good, but Majestic both had the best price plus offered us a generous military discount. Ovando (the owner) of Majestic seemed like an honest and knowledgeable person, and for me, saying "thanks" to the military with a discount goes a long way. Their moving crew would be all people who had worked for the company as regular employees, not day-laborers with little experience. Drawers containing clothing and soft goods would remain in the furniture. I was surprised, knowing how heavy and unwieldy our furniture was, so I specifically asked about this. The written estimate looked reasonable to me from having handled past moves. They were pretty prompt or called if there would be a delay. Packing time took about 7 hrs using 2 packers until the last hour or so when 2 to 3 others arrived. (I packed and moved most electronics, many tools, all bathroom items, and a small amount of personal goods ahead of time, plus I continued packing while Majestic was packing.) They did a full kitchen pack. Big job. They did all other breakables, tools and miscellany. Ovando was one of the packers, and I really enjoyed talking to him. He has a really good heart. I looked in the rooms after the packers left and didn't notice anything major not packed except for clothing closets to be packed by the movers the next day. Drawer contents were left inside. Moving was a HUGE job, to be done in one day. Four men carefully padded or plastic wrapped appropriate furniture. We did not require any dis-assembly of furniture. One man stayed mostly in the truck to carefully pack it tightly from floor to ceiling. The first floor was done amazingly quickly. The second floor took a LONG time, but I stayed out of their way, watching HEAVY, well padded furniture moved carefully down a narrow staircase with great skill. Then the basement and deck. They left immediately before I had a chance to walk around the house. I saw quite a few large items wondering why they didn't take them ??? (for example my big bag of eBay packing peanuts and the large styrofoam and bottom of my plasma TV box which I had asked them to take, a large mirror, a large dog crate, etc.). Disappointing. I picked up lunch and we all took a break at the new house. Unloading went well, and I was amazed at how the men kept going non-stop with such heavy stuff. They asked where everything should go, and put furniture in places I had predetermined. They unpacked the wardrobes per the contract and finished around 6-7pm. The job looked pretty good. Total moving time was about 10 hours. The crew foreman said Ovando had made a good estimate as he compared the job to the paperwork. Once we started unpacking and had a chance to "recover" I realized a few things: first, the clothing in drawers HAD been removed into boxes, so I had the surprise to refold and repack all the drawers with a lot of wrinkled clothes. Remember I had directly asked about how the clothes would be handled. Secondly, we went back to the old house and discovered a closet full of clothes. I had looked at all the rooms right after they left, but never checked inside the closets, believing all had been packed. Finally, as we gathered the miscellany left behind at the old house, I realized that if we were doing a long distance move, we never could have taken the rest of the stray stuff with us. It never would have fit in our own vehicles. Luckily this was a local move, so we could handle making a few trips. I didn't realize on moving day that they were going to leave so quickly, so I did not have the chance to address the left-over large items. I did contact Majestic about the clothing being removed from the drawers, but I never contacted them about the rest. They couldn't do anything to remedy the situations by that point. Overall I think it was a good move and would hire them again, I'd just be more diligent about checking that everything had been taken.

Majestic Moving & Storage LLC Company helped me move my entire house. Their pricing was great. They were very trustworthy. It was a difficult move; however, they did their best. They were efficient and punctual. I would absolutely use them in the future.

EXCELLENT! Ovando came over to give us an estimate! What a true professional! He puts you at ease right away. He talked to us to verify that we wanted them to pack our household goods in addition to moving them. We walked thru the house and he made notes. We sat down and he completed the estimate before he left. We were particularly concerned about a grand piano being moved that was shiny black lacquer. We decided to purchase additional insurance to assure it would be covered. Ovando brought a team of men in and they packed for 6-7 hours. Care was taken with everything. They came back according to schedule to load the truck and move our household goods. They worked nonstop and got the whole house completed and reassembled by nightfall. It was a 4 bedroom house (~3500sq ft). The piano move went great--they had to bring it up a flight of stairs and they didn't look like they even broke a sweat. Extremely impressed with the whole team. No items were broken or damaged. Everything was done according to plan and Ovando made sure it was stress-free. He understand the stress of packing and moving and he believes that this part should be stress-free--he certainly makes that happen! Would use them again anytime and highly recommend them! Superb service and very customer oriented!

The 3 movers were nice, polite, friendly, and agreeable, but they did not follow directions in terms of what was written on boxes or items. Some items were marked, "DO NOT MOVE" and they moved it, and never bothered to ask me if they were uncertain. If an item had no instruction or the note fell off, they should have asked, and were more about getting things out in a hurry. They did a great job with my bike, glass table, futon. I have not opened the fragile crystal and china to see if anything broke, but they were very reassuring. The other problem besides moving things that were to have stayed, was the way boxes were placed in the basement. I assumed that they would place boxes in such a way that the user could get to them, but what they did was block off 50% of the basement with items so it is impossible to get to boxes without moving them. They also moved some boxes into basement ignoring the label, "dining room," or "bedroom." The worst problem and the reason for the low ratings was the lack of care in backing out the moving truck. The driver showed no regard for the property and drove on top of the grass (instead of thinking and sizing the situation and backing out straight) and cut a long (15 feet) 4 - 6 inch gash deep on both sides of the the lawn. This was utterly negative and the owner of the property is extremely upset and very angry at this unprofessional driving. The driver showed no regard for the property. He could have backed out straight; there was no obstruction - no vehicle on the other side. It was a rushed and careless act. I would not recommend this company due to the lack of respect for a homeowner's property. The other problems also make it difficult to recommend this company.

It went extremely well, the best move we have had. A gentleman named Ovando came to take inventory and give us an estimate. He was extremely professional, efficient and very cordial. The price was guaranteed (with the understanding that it could change if we added more weight through additional items not inventoried). Anytime we called the office with questions, we received friendly service and help with whatever questions we had. When our belongings were picked up in MD it was done quickly, efficiently and with no mishaps or damage. They picked up on a Thursday and promised delivery on Saturday. When we met them in TN, they again moved quickly, efficiently, did any arranging that we asked (my husband has a bad back and couldn't do any of the arranging). Everything had been packed in protective coverings and so there was no damage. The same person oversaw and was present for the entire process from beginning to end. We couldn't have been happier with this company and the way our move was handled. We highly recommend this company and the representative who handled our move.

I called Majestic about a week before the move date and was given a choice of morning or afternoon times for that day. Kanika in the office got back in touch with me quickly with a reasonable flat-rate quote for the move with two men and a truck. She honored my membership in Angie's List with a 5% discount. Desmond and Yimer arrived at our house about 20 minutes early in order to get the truck and ramp positioned and to get an overview from me about what items were being moved. They were ready to start moving promptly at 9:00 a.m. They worked efficiently, but carefully, wrapping every piece of furniture in padded blankets. They even took the greetings and investigations of our blind dog in stride! Within an hour, we were ready for the drive to Fairfax. I appreciated their choosing a route that did not include highway driving. When we arrived at the apartment, the movers promptly began unloading the truck while my daughter and I signed final paperwork in the rental office. When we were finished there, we were amazed to find all of the furniture and unwrapped and in position in the various rooms. Desmond and Yimer checked with us to adjust the final placement of each piece. They even figured out which boxes belonged in each room, although we had not had time to have the boxes labelled! There were no damages to anything they moved. I was impressed by the courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism of all members of the Majestic staff, and would highly recommend their moving services.
