Majestic Moving and Storage

Majestic did a fine job. The crew was professional and efficient, working over two days to pack-out the old house and do the move the following day. Packing was well done, nothing was broken, and boxes all made it to the proper rooms in the new home. One minor issue concerning wardrobe boxes: we were informed that a separate charge ($10 per box) would be assessed if they were not unpacked by the time the move was completed. This was difficult to accomplish since the closets were used by the crew to place boxes designated for each of the bedrooms. However, the charge could be credited once we emptied the boxes and called Majestic to come back and retrieve them, which we did following after a couple of days of unpacking. Majestic came by the next day after I called, and picked up the wardrobe boxes, as well as a large number of additional boxes and packing paper. Again, not a big deal...just something to be aware of on move day.

Their professionalism, effectiveness, efficiency, helpfulness, patience, flexibility, and good humor were outstanding. This move was my first in over 25 years, and I was very apprehensive. However, Jimmy and his team allayed my fears immediately, with their prompt arrival on Monday morning, their immediate guiding me through my townhouse to help me review the best approach for loading my belongings, their courteousness, and their starting right away to load my boxes, furniture, pictures, clothes, accessories, etc. They answered all my questions with courtesy and good humour. They were flexible when I wished to vary the loading order of certain items. The ways they packed my large grandfather clock and my large mirror with blanketing, taping and boxing were examples of their outstanding care. I have a number of large paintings, which they took great care packing. When the loading from my townhouse was finished, we proceeded to a local public storage unit in Laurel for the remainder of my belongings. Here also, they exhibited patience, effectiveness, and good humor working with the storage staff to gain access to my unit. Overall, including both the material in the townhouse and the boxes in storage, they loaded enough goods to completely fill a ten by twenty storage unit in Leominster, MA. Both the trip up to New England on Tuesday and the unloading in the Leominster storage unit on Wednesday were equally prompt, efficient, effective, and good humoured. They had to move the belongings to the second floor and down two hallways to get to the storage unit itself. This was done throughout with efficiency and good humor. Again, they were patient and flexible with my directions in the storage order of the storage unit itself. Jimmy, Roberto, and Derrick each exhibited the kind of professionalism and care for the customer that make me give my highest appraisal of Majestic and its services. Thanks very much.

Majestic did a fantastic job! They worked hard and took very good care of our things. The crew was a little late in arriving, but they called us at the scheduled time to let us know they would be running about 30 minutes behind schedule. Even with the slightly late start, they completed the job faster than I expected. And they even came in under the estimated price! The crew was pleasant and careful. Nothing was lost and, other than a few very minor dings, nothing was broken. Great job overall.

They came when they said they would. It made a stressful situation a lot less stress ful. They stuck with the original estimate and they did a good job.

I can't believe I had such a great experience with a mover! After past experiences where they ALWAYS charge more than the estimate and I've felt ripped off, I started off suspicious, but this move went smoothly and with no stress (well, at least not because of the mover!). From the beginning, I had a good feel from the estimator who came to my house--he was friendly, courteous, and professional--I didn't get a "salesman" vibe from him! On the day of the move, four friendly, professional men arrived on time, worked consistently, were helpful and patient as we figured out where we wanted things, and made that part of the move easy. The final cost came in a little below the estimate. Yes, it is possible to rave about a moving company! While I hope not to move again for a LONG time, I would hire Majestic again in a second, and recommend them to friends.

They were terrific. They were prompt, reliable, careful, and everything arrived safely. The guys who did the packing and moving were just so good. They were thoughtful, accommodating, and worked very hard. They fulfill everything that is on Angie's List about them already.

Overall went well - still keeping furniture and other things with them in storage.

My experience with Majestic Movers was the best out of Angie's List so far. While I have to admit I have had some negatives with other services from Angie's List despite their A ratings, Majestic Movers had no negatives. The staff was very responsive, professional and the move was smooth. The movers had a great attitude and wanted to satisfy my requests such as carefully wrapping or padding furniture and where I wanted items placed at the destination. They called in advance to ask if they could come earlier or if I wanted them to wait until the designated time.

I called a few places and wanted to go with someone local. I liked that Majestic would use one truck just for my things...much lower chance of things going missing. Also, Osvaldo (the owner, I think) gave us a free in-person estimate, and was even willing to reschedule when I got stuck in traffic and missed our first scheduled estimate. They did a great job packing us, I was really impressed and very glad we decided to have them pack us rather than pack ourselves! They packed on one day, loaded up the next day, and arrived and unloaded first thing in the morning two days after that. I think one cracked cheap drinking glass is the only item that didn't arrive in perfect condition. I was extremely impressed with how quickly yet carefully the crew worked in packing, loading the truck, unloading the truck, placing boxes and furniture, and unwrapping the furniture. Fore example, before we even had a chance to reassemble our bed frame (one of the few items that they disassembled), crew-leader Jimmy swept in an did it much more quickly and efficiently than we would have. Very happy overall. The only slight mix ups were: 1. I asked at the time of the in-person first visit about "No Parking" signs for in front of our apartment to ensure that the truck would have access. Osvaldo assured me he would request them for me. When the written estimate was emailed, there was no mention of them, so I emailed Kanika (who handles the office) and asked that she add them, and she assented. Then, on packing day, a crew with a full size truck full of boxes arrives and there are still no signs and they are asking ME where they can park. I had to call Kanika two or three times that day and she put in a last-minute request that luckily went through just in time for someone from Majestic to come hang the signs late in the evening, about 12 hours before the loading crew would arrive the next day. That was quite frustrating, because I had been told that it was my responsibility to find a parking area, and then was assured twice that Majestic would handle requesting and posting the signs. It isn't a huge deal, but that extra anxiety is something you really don't need on moving day. 2. It's probably my fault for not reading the fine print more carefully, but after we got our estimate, I was not clear on the fact that that number was fixed. The other companies I talked said they would provide an estimate, but that the actual final charge would be based on the exact weight of the cargo as determined at a weigh station. Majestic just set the number based on the tour of our apartment. I think we paid pretty much exactly what we would have paid if it were by the pound with one of the similar companies, but I just wish I'd known that in advance so I wouldn't have wasted time trying to get rid of a few heavy items in the two weeks between our estimate and moving day. I must emphasize, these are very small concerns relative to my overall satisfaction with and appreciation for the work of Majestic Movers!

The staff was uniformly friendly and professional from initial contact to final delivery. It went as smoothly as a move could go. Final cost was equal to the estimate.

After researching on Angie's List, I called to get a quote. Ovando arrived at our scheduled time to discuss the details and I was provided an estimate via email within a few days. He was very courteous and both he and his office personnel answered all of my questions. For the move itself, 3 guys arrived in VA within 20 minutes of the scheduled time and were very courteous. 2 of these same guys drove our belongings down and unloaded in NC. They were efficient and knew what they were doing. They wrapped all of our large furniture pieces and a few boxes of last minute things we were not able to get to. In the new place, they laid down plastic sheeting on our freshly cleaned carpets and paper on the hardwoods. They unwrapped our furniture and even applied the felt stickies we bought under the furniture pieces they unwrapped to prevent scratching our floor. Since the move my husband and I have noticed a few things here and there - just small things like an inexpensive side table that has a gouge on the side. Little things in my opinion for an interstate move and all of our other expensive belongings/furniture did arrive in perfect, working condition. It was a scorching hot few days in July but the crew still hustled and did a professional job. I would highly recommend them. The crew was courteous to both my husband and I and asked questions when they needed to clarify. It was nice to have the same crew on both sides of the move. They did not adjust the price based on the weight of our belongings, so the estimate I was given was the price I paid. It seemed reasonable to me. I can't compare the cost to other movers because the others I called were already booked and wouldn't provide me with a quote. I was happy with Majestic's quote and Ovando, so I just went with them and am glad we did.

They were fantastic. They were friendly, professional, efficient. They moved all the boxes first then disasembled furniture and wrapped it securely. They had the entire place packed up in an hour and a 1/2. Even though it was a hot summer day and we had stairs at both residences, they didn't even appear to take a break, and they drove directly to the new place. (I would not have blamed them for needing to stop for a drink or a snack to catch their breath before unpacking everything they had just packed!) Once at the new place they unwrapped the furniture, set it perfectly in each room (I had stated where I wanted each piece). Moved all the boxes into the correct rooms on three levels. They were so efficient they came in under budget, and I received a discount. That was on top of the discount for being a member of Angie's List. I highly recommend this moving company.

They were very easy to work with throughout the process. On move they they had 6 guys to move me. They were professional and courteous the whole day. No lost or broken items. Really good experience overall and I would recommend them.

They worked with us around our dates. The one concern was on the delivery end. We got a call the night before asking if we could be available at 7:00 am instead of 9:00 for delivery. Sure, no biggie, until they didn't show up until 11:00. We do understand that the movers/drivers where tired. We had just done the same drive ourselves. I was under the impression that the drivers would be spending the night somewhere in IL, but that did not seem to be the case. This is probably typical for the industry. We would have been fine if we had originally been told they would show up at 11:00. There were a few pieces of furniture with damage--not much at all considering the volume. The bigger problem is that they took apart a desk and then lost one of the pieces that attaches the leg. They said they would send a new part, but we have yet to see it. UPDATE: It's been almost a month, and they have not sent a new part to replace the one they lost. They have made no attempt to replace it, and the desk cannot be used without the legs attached. We gave up and tried to replace the part ourselves (since they no longer return our calls!!!!). Turns out the part is metric and very hard to find in the U.S. We are trying to find a furniture repair service so I can use my desk again. We may have to replace the desk after all is said and done because they lost a cheap piece of hardware.

They arrived on time, were very efficient and hard-working. They did not damage anything, from what I can tell (I have not fully unpacked!). They asked questions when they were unsure and even carried a few items next door to a family member. Excellent experience!

I was very pleased with them. The overall experience was excellent. In terms of punctuality , probably it was not their fault. They were coming from New York and they were late in arriving in my house. They had an accident on the expressway. They were late enough so it was awkward with the superintendent in getting it into the building. From the satisfaction point of view I was not entirely satisfied but on the other hand I thought it was not their fault. I would absolutely and definitely use their services again in the future. I would recommend them to anybody else.

Used them for the second time last weekend. First time was a move from Washington DC to McLean, VA last year. Not a mark on anything, and nothing missing. They padded and plastic wrapped almost everything. I've made a lot of moves into and out of Virginia and this was the best by far. Used them again last weekend to move some things around in the house. Again, never a bump on anything. Courteous and accommodating. Wil use them again in the fall.

What a great experience! The 4 men that moved my piano could not have been nicer.

Where do I begin with this glowing review. This is my 3rd move in the last 5 years and by far the smoothest and easily the one that left me with the least amount of items to take on my own after they were gone. The things left were by my choice and unlike other movers, if it was not in a box they would put it in one so it made the trip. I had a supply of boxes they used but they had no issues packing the things, like bedding, that I had not gotten to yet. I want to note that I am not providing the cost because I was in a special circumstance and Ovando appreciated that and worked with me on the price. The move took every inch of the trucks space and took the 4 men about 10.5 hours. The estimate was only for 6.5 and that was including a stop to drop things at storage. So either the heat was a huge factor or I have a deceiving amount of things. I had actually gotten rid of quite a bit between the estimate and the move but I think it was a bit of both the heat and how much stuff I have. We didn't end up doing the storage stop and instead put the items into a garage on the property. Still though I think the heat and the amount of things I had made the day longer than it would have been otherwise. The heat index was 122 degrees the day we moved and not once did any of the 4 man team complain. Desmond, Warren, Curtis and D'Angelo worked harder than any one I have ever seen in ridiculous conditions. We provided unlimited water and Gatorade to them as well as towels to help with the dripping sweat. I only saw them take 2 short breaks plus the lunch break (we provided Subway for lunch) the entire day. They were incredible in their speed and ability to get every last thing on the truck. Desmond can pack a truck I kid you not . . . There wasn't an inch spared. Nothing in the old house was damaged, all walls were in the same condition as before they started, I was impressed. Once they got the truck loaded they followed me to the new house with a stop for me to gas up my car so I could make the trip LOL. Fortunately they were able to park in front of the house and were able to use the canopy of trees for shade for the unloading of the truck. I think that was a saving grace for sure. As was my father using his pick up to move things from the truck to the garage to save the walk for some items. They laid down mats to protect my brand new carpet and again no walls were damaged. There were some big pieces of furniture that had to fit in some tight spaces and they did it with ease. I was afraid some of my bedroom furniture would not fit but darned if Warren was not the master of getting furniture where it needed to go. They reassembled and placed all furniture where it needed to go and even entertained my need for things to be symmetrical and moved my sons bed a few times to get it right. I had color coded the boxes and ironically the labels ended up matching the wall color in a few rooms so all the boxes made it where they needed to go. They did just an outstanding job getting the boxes in the right places and again I was impressed as in past moves I had color coded the boxes and things ended up in the completely wrong place. I cannot say enough good about the team and the move experience itself. I would gladly recommend them to anyone reading this. I had chosen them because of the reviews here and I was not disappointed. If there is any doubt who to use for your move, let me tell you that Majestic is the way to go. The only damage that I have found thus far was to my deep freezer. I think there were boxes packed on top of it and the top was slightly crushed. I am waiting to see if it effects the seal before I make a stink about it. I had noted that on the form I signed at the end and requested a call back to discuss and have not heard from anyone yet, but that is not a huge deal and would not effect my recommendation on using them. Just thought I would note it. All in all, the best moving experience thus far and I would gladly use them again, but I have sworn off moving ever again :) But not because of Majestic!

These guys were absolutely fantastic. They showed up a little later than expected but called in advance to let me know. Traffic here is very heavy and unpredictable. The entire move took longer than expected, but they did it all within the estimate I was provided. They took great care of my antiques and valuables and nothing is damaged that I know of yet. It will take me months to unpack, but I feel that I won't be disappointed or find something damaged. If you mark the boxes and align them to the room they are to go, they triy hard to make sure they were placed where you want them. Yhey broke down furniture and reinstalled it at the new location where you want it. I moved my artwork and I recommend doing so since the truck can get very packed and it would be too hard for them to try to protect them unless they were crated. Desmond and Warren are the pros and knew what they were doing for sure. The other guys were new but picked it all up easily and also did a great job (Curtis and D'Angelo). They eat pizza 5 times a week, so if you can offer something else, you should try to do so!

They were very conscientious. They were very good about the way they packed things, wrapped up the furniture or anything like that. Their price was very good, but they gave me a military discount that was lovely and it helped a lot. Their quality was excellent. They were always on time and were very professional.

I never called and spoke to a person but had to leave a message however, all but once, I received a call back within 15 minutes. The truck was delayed because of unforseen circumstances with another customer and they called me immediately to let me know that my desk would be delayed. The delivery personnel were polite, and took great pains to ensure my desk was as pristine when it arrived as when it left. Then I received a call to ensure I was satisfied with the delivery. This is a well run company with people who care.

Ovando and his band of reliable helpers moved our household goods from Annapolis, MD to New Market, VA. I must add my praise to their growing fan club. The move was one of the best we have ever had. They were on time, organized and very careful with our belongings. They performed exactly as Ovando said they would. We were very pleased to have their help during such a stressful time. We would definately use them again.

Called to get an estimate, the woman who answered the phone was very friendly and said that the estimate for the move (4 bedroom house) was best completed in person versus over the phone. Worked for me so we set an appointment for the estimate. Ovando arrived at my home on time, walked through the rooms, made notes and gave me an estimate. He, too, was very friendly - asked questions and answered my questions. Good experience. The estimate was in the range I expected and he honored the discount listed on Angie's so I was more than happy to sign the dotted line. I had a move out date (sold my house), but didn't have a move in date (purchase of new home settlement date was still up in the air) so the plan was to move out of the first house, into a storage unit I rented, then move from the storage unit into the new home at a later date. I packed the house myself so when the crew showed up (three guys), we did a quick tour and they started working. It was an all day deal to pack the truck, drive to the storage facility and unload - but it went super smooth. The move from the storage unit to the new house was smooth also -4 guys versus three, so it went quickly. Any furniture that was disassembled was reassembled. They put the boxes in the rooms as labeled and asked where to place the furniture. Everything was set up and I was pleased with the experience

We were very happy with our experience with Majestic Movers. We looked at 3 companies on Angie's List and they were the only ones that came out to do a free estimate. The other companies depended on your detailed description of the contents of your home that you submit through their websites. Their estimator was on time and took about 20 mins to review the contents of our house and gave us a quote ranging between $800 and $1,000 for a 2-man crew for 5 hours. He said that they would not exceed $1,000. This is based on us packing all our stuff in boxes. On the day of the move, the 2 movers arrived about 5-10 minutes early. They came into the house to check out the amount of boxes, furniture, and rooms. And they got right to it. They were extremely efficient in moving all the furniture and boxes out of the house. They made sure to take care of our furniture by using pads and wrapping the pads tightly with tape. The movers also took apart our bedframe and wrapped that up carefully. They also wrapped the mattress. They are not responsible for plants and they require that you unplug your stereo receiver and computer equipment. They were also efficient in unloading the our stuff. We just had to direct them which rooms the boxes went. And they also assembled our bedframe in the new house. The final move was about 5.75 hours including 1 hour of travel time. We received an Angie's List discount, and the final costs were $716, well under the lower-end of their quote.
