Majestic Moving and Storage

Description of Work: It rained cats and dogs the entire day of my move. The movers were late ( my only complaint is they didn't call---I had to call twice to get ETAs) but once they arrived they worked really hard. My carpets were protected, my furniture and boxes were protected and everything was done professionally. I was able to spend time explaining a few concerns and not feel rushed. They even finished ahead of schedule. I would absolutely recommend this company.

Description of Work: They were very nice and polite and worked hard. In their defense, I added some additional packing at the last minute , but they had not brought enough boxes, so tt took a second day for them to finish packing. They removed papers that I had boxed & stacked for shredding prior to the move, to use for packing when they ran out of boxes. These packed boxes were clearly marked "Do Not Remove". So now I don't know what happened to the materials that required shredding! When I went upstairs after the move, they had left "LOTS" of things that they had not packed, paintings still on walls, closets still full, trash everywhere, and a HUGE hole in my bedroom wall. I cringed during the move, as I kept hearing horrible crashes. After the move, I found a gash on a piece of furniture that was not there prior to the move and I have not yet inspected everything. I went to the trouble of putting sticky notes on most pieces of furniture as to where it should go. Also, I made a list of each room, the furniture in it and where it should go!! When they had left, they had not followed this at all, and several things were either left in the previous house or placed in the basement with boxed storage items. To top it off, they removed a sliding glass patio door ( presumably to assist in getting large peices of furniture inside). However, when they replaced the door, they replaced it backward, so that the lock and handle were on the outside and not the inside, therefore, I could not lock my door. I was going out of town the next day, so had to leave the house unlocked until I returned. The fact that there were still so many things left unmoved, I had to hire someone else to move them. I should have insisted that they come back to move what I paid for, but actually did not want them around again. I did tip the packers, however, had not seen all the damage, debris and unpacked items when I tipped them. I should have inspected everything, but it was late in the day and dark when they left, and I was in the new residence and didn't return to the former residence for inspection until the next day. I would not use them again.

Description of Work: Made an appointment for the estimator to arrive at our home on Monday, October 31 at 3:00pm. Received a call from Majestic's office at 3:05 to tell me the estimator had been stuck in traffic for hours and would not be able to make the appointment. Reasonable to assume that if the estimator was that late, he should have called earlier. I offered to make an appointment for the following day but was told the earliest appointment would be available on Thursday. Having wasted one day and not getting cooperation on a convenient substitute day made it clear that Majestic would not work for me.

Description of Work: Majestic is another great company with whom to deal. One comment I will make, however, is that the truck was an hour late due to traffic problems but I didn't receive a courtesy call telling me that. My suggestion is that the driver contact the customer if traffic problems occur. Otherwise, the three crew moving team were courteous, effective and efficient. Not one wall was bumped in the move out or the move in. Amazing. Nothing was broken. More amazing. I can't recall the name of the lady with whom I made moving arrangements. My apology because she is top notch. She walked me through the process with clear, concise questions that resulted in a quick confirmation for the moving date I needed. Bye the bye Angie List patrons, Majestic gave me a 5% discount because I am an Angie's List customer (that discount was provided before the truck was late not because the truck was late). Sweet!

Description of Work: The company packed our entire 2 bedroom apartment in 4 hours then moved and unloaded everything the following day. Our move was from an apartment in Bethesda to a house in Arlington. The actual move and unloading took about 6 hours. They were very efficient but careful with our stuff and nothing was lost or damaged. They are the only company we got an estimate from that would give us a not to exceed estimate which was really nice. We would definitely use them again for a local move.

Description of Work: They came to move a family of eight. They were punctual and very helpful. They were things not still packed and they gave us time and a hand to finish it all. I was very impressed by the person in charge of the team of workers. He treated each with respect and he did himself the hardest work. They took less time than expected and charge us less than what it was originally quoted. Great job. We will use them again!

Description of Work: The whole move went OUTSTANDING.They arrived on time and were courteous and fast. They were careful and wrapped the pieces of furniture. There was no damage to the furniture or walls when moving out of my condo or into my townhome. Ovando arrived promptly for the estimate days before. Gave me an estimate not to exceed, which apparently meant, it couldn't go over that amount. The movers (James and others) were courteous, professional and quick both packing up and moving- Due to the weather instead of sending 3 guys and a truck - they sent- 5 guys and a truck- this was so helpful- Three flight of steps and they still did everything so professionally.

Description of Work: Moved our 4 bedroom house to a one bedroom apartment and a new house in the local area. Stored of truck for 4 nights. They were very flexible as dates began to move. Always on time. Moving and packing crew were very nice and easy to work with. They were careful with furniture wrapping each piece. No damage to furniture or walls. The move out was difficult as we lived on a hill without a level drive way. They did an outstanding job.
