Not well at all

Jose Amaya was a wonderful contractor to work with. He called to respond to my request for a quote within 20 minutes and came out that same day to look at our kitchen and take measurements. He gave me a quote within a week. His team was able to start the project a few weeks later, and finished when promised! Jose and his team were professional, courteous, and did a beautiful job with our partial kitchen renovation. Jose clearly and knowledgeably communicated with us regarding issues as they arose (surprise gas pipe in the wall we were having taken down!) and was completely accommodating when we went back and forth on decisions. I would recommend Jose Amaya Remodeling to anyone, and I will definitely work with the company again for upcoming projects!

On August 30, I contacted Angie’s list because I needed an exterior door installed as soon as possible. Angie’s list matched me with several companies. I met with representatives of these companies but their price was too high (high pressure salesman from one company) and/or the work could not be done immediately. A friend then recommended that I try Jose Amaya Remodeling as she and her husband had used them for renovations on their home. I am so glad that she did. I was initially worried that the work of installing my exterior door would not be a priority with any company since it was such a small job. My unease was alleviated after meeting with Jose to discuss the work that I needed done and obtain an estimate. Jose also helped me figure out the type of door that would work best for me. A few days later (Sept 5), Jose returned to my home with several workers and they did an excellent job of installing and painting my exterior door. This is much earlier than the date that the other companies stated that they could do the work. In addition, the cost of getting the door installed by Jose Amaya Remodeling was comparable to the cost I was quoted from one company and much less than the other companies. I am very pleased with the service that I received and plan to use them again in the future.

I have had various projects completed by Jose. I have been highly satisfied with every project. He and his crew are very professional and easy to have in and around the house. Projects have included painting and resurfacing walls and ceilings, roof repair, repair of leak damage, screen repair, patio sealing, plumbing and most recently a new shed build from scratch. He was very conscious of building a shed that would fit in with the house and meet our needs. (See picture below)

We have had numerous jobs completed by Jose Amaya. All of the jobs have been done in a timely and efficient manner. Jose is very responsive to new projects and all the jobs have been completed without interruption. The crew is very hardworking and polite. The quality of the work has been excellent and we have really appreciated how tidy the work area has been during and after the projects. Our projects have ranged from replacement of screens on screened porch, painting of carport and all house trim, bathroom fan installation, painting of front door, repair of roof leak, replacing of roof tiles and repair of water damage, building an bespoke interior wall, power wash and sealing of outdoor patio and wood floor repair. All work has been done in the last 8 months.

I hired Jose to install a gas cooktop to replace my existing very old one. He visited my kitchen on 3 occations to take all the appropriate measurements. Based on those measurements I purchased a cooktop slightly smaller than the existing cutout. Jose installed the cooktop on time and within budget filling in the slight open spaces. It looks great! He finished the job in six hours. He even had to make a run to Home Depot for a missing part. He also had to install an electric connection for the new electric starter which came with the new cooktop. He cleaned up and removed all the debris. The stovetop works perfectly, not a single problem. Jose is personable and knowledgeable and does excellent work.

We did two bathrooms at the same time. Totally retiled floors and one shower stall. Installed new sinks and toilets, medicine cabinets and lighting and new paint. Jose and his crews efficiently handled all aspects of the job and kept the work areas clean. There was an issue with some older electrical wiring which Jose brought to our attention and fixed so it would meet code. Jose is a professional who cares about the quality of his work. We were very pleased with the finished results.

We hired Mr. Amaya and his team to provide renovation upgrades & home repairs. Mr. Amaya is technically competent, personally reliable, thorough and the prices for his labor clear and fair. Mr. Amaya completed a variety of work including removing the popcorn from the ceiling and painting all the interior walls and ceilings. He also refinished the kitchen cabinets, installed cabinet hardware and completed smaller jobs such as light carpentry and wood floor repair. Mr. Amaya and his team were always courteous and took the time to answer questions accurately and completely. We would recommend hiring Jose for home remodeling jobs.

Jose did a great job! He worked for a general contractor at the time, so I didn’t pay Jose directly (which is why I didn’t answer about cost). The work was great- we were very happy with the job. He worked hard and was very professional.

I have used Jose in the past for some interior and exterior painting so when I needed a bigger job I shopped around and Jose gave me a fair price. Also the work was completed on time as promised. I am very happy with the work Jose and his team did for me.
