I am usually very stingy with referrals - and am very happy to share about my experience with J. Reynolds Landscaping, as I have been MOST pleased with the overall professionalism, technical expertise, creative solutions, timeliness, and flexibility.... and I have received so many compliments from the neighbors on his work .. I found him very knowledgeable, technical, experienced, and "user friendly" - patient with all my questions and pleased to educate. Jason's work not just practical, but creative and aesthetically pleasing - just beautiful. His team has always been professional, courteous, friendly, and conscientious. I am a skeptic by nature, and I find him trust worthy and darn it if he doesn't come up with very creative and great ideas! I have been deliriously happy with each project, and he has a great reputation in the area. Fall 2012 - The immediate need was erosion control / drainage / wet basement - I had tried a few solutions / vendors in the past with only adequate and temporary success. I found him in the neighborhood newsletter, checked out the website (definitely must see) and scoped out a few homes that had used his services nearby - the neighborhood is "established" and many homes have drainage issues. I called him, and we spend a lot of time together walking the property, going over the challenges, and he provided detailed solutions for a number of water issues.. and provided options. Last fall, perhaps a week before the Hurricane Sandy, he and his professional crew regraded for flow, added stone swales for drainage, and enhanced my poor neglected yard with needed hard scaping. Literally the day after they finished, Hurricane Sandy gave it her all, and his solutions worked like a champ! Basement remained dry, and water drained as designed. As the water flow was so heavy (unusually so), I noted a few areas that needed some touch up (more grading and extended stone bed) which he did the next week. I was so impressed and pleased that my husband and I added a walkway of pavers (curved so hubby does not wear a path on the lawn anymore, and I can get out of the car without mud on heels), updated outside lights, added landscape lights, and a new lamppost. Quite a transformation, and the river rock swales curve like the mountain stream, and the hardscape beds polished our front (finally we have curb appeal). January 2013 - As our backyard slopes downward from our neighbors, we still had issues to tackle. Jason and team returned for another round of enhancements for our mostly shady backyard (which is large) and was also neglected and overgrown. We had great brainstorming sessions to blend desire for minimal maintenance once established, solve drainage issues, and improve the overall appearance. He has such great ideas. The goal was to resolve the drainage issues with grading, river rock swales, and redirecting water naturally with redesigned beds. I added more hardscaping plus interior fence (to hide my husbands outside stuff), decorative rocks and steppers, cut out new planting areas. Two days after they left, there was a big snow / large rainfall & runoff, and the entire drainage solution worked, and the beds direct the water as needed. Jason's approach exceeded our expectations and landscaping beautiful! April / May 2013 - Now that the beds and hardscaping was in place, it was time for plants - he designed beautiful beds full of color and fragrances, heavy perennials with mixture of flowers, shrubs and a handful of trees that flowed so beautifully. As I work from home, I am able to enjoy the landscaping whether from the front stoop or the back sun room with 270 view of color and lush. So impressed with the transformation of our landscaping and no more wet basement - I highly recommend him.

From beginning to end the experience was exceptional. Jason was present on the job as advertised. The men who worked with him were simply the best. Polite, professional and skilled. They arrived on time each day and worked tirelessly, taking only time for lunch breaks. As the project drew to completion, they accommodated requests such as replacing a bush that showed signs of stress. I told them that they worked like little elves who at the end of the day simply disappeared taking all traces of their work with them. They were thorough and cleaned up every bit of debris associated with the job.

Jason was great to work with. He showed up on time and the job went as scheduled. We discussed the drainage/standing water problems I was having in my yard and he suggested a french drain. He had photos of previous jobs in his portfolio so I could get a sense of what things would look like and he did a sketch drawing that I submitted to my neighborhood HOA for approval. He was onsite each day with 2 helpers and the 3 of them worked very hard. After a couple of months of observing the water flow in the new dry river bed in my backyard, I called him and told him that the dry river bed needed a little bit of adjusting. He promptly came out and he and his crew made the necessary adjustments. We will definitely keep him in mind for future landscaping projects.

So I thought! The wood as promised was fine and perhaps was more than the cord i ordered. It was the five yards of dirt that was delivered with the wood that ticked me off. I live in an established neighborhood and have a landscaped yard vs. a farm or ranch. So not having anyplace to put that much dirt, I had to pay my yard guy $100 to haul it away and clean up my driveway. Lesson learned, I will know better next time!

My mother needed a retaining wall to replace an old 6 foot wooden fence that was falling in due to erosion from the neighbors yard. Jason was on time for our appraisal appointment, unfortunately I was late. He found my 77 year old mother trying to cut limbs off of her crepe myrtle, at this point he jumped in and took over while waiting for me to arrive. Chivalry is not dead. Jason was very patient in explaining to my mother her options and making suggestions but never using a hard sell. Not only did he see the need for the retaining wall, he was more then happy to take down the old fence and take it away. My mother explained of her concern of water running down on to her property even over the front driveway. Jason explained he could remove the bushes taking them away and put in a french drain with decorative stones on top. He emailed me the estimate within a couple of days from the initial meeting. He was good to his word on his starting date and completion of work. He was on site working and cleaning up at the end of each day. In all this was a wonderful experience and I am anticipating hiring Jason for some additional projects in the future.

Jason put in a fantastic hardscape solution to improve my downspout drainage problem. He did a WOW job building the centerpiece--a low fieldstone wall--it is as beautiful as it is functional. I plan to ask for his help again in the spring for the remainder of my landscaping.

J Reynolds Landscaping was great. They finished the job and did a second job for us. I would rate them well. I would recommend them highly.

I recently purchased a home that had some known drainage issues. Most of the issues were the results of downspouts that emptied rain immediately at the base of the foundation of the house. After purchasing the home I was somewhat limited on dollars I could spend on this project, but knew how important it was to get the water away from the house. My experience with Jason and his team could not have been better. Jason came out to my house within days of my initial phone call and walked me through exactly what was happening. He even connected my hose and ran water into the various drains so I could see exactly where water was pooling and what issues it was causing. I was upfront with Jason and told him I needed to get it away from the house but cared more about functionality that looks at this time. Jason gave me an itemized proposal of what he recommended and said I could pick and choose any that I had the budget for. After I agreed to have him take care of most of the items he came out with a team of 2 guys and they spent the entire day working tirelessly on the project. At the end of day 1 he told me that he would be back in the morning for a few hours to finish up and true to his word he and another guy were back the next morning to finish up. The downspouts now run directly into the ground and into existing drains or one's he rebuilt. The water all now flows far away from the house into the gravel pit that he installed and I'm having no more problems with water sitting near the foundation. The team was professional and did an excellent job on the project. I look forward to working with Jason again next year on a few other projects I have in mind.

J Reynolds Landscaping was referred to us by a friend. After discussing the work to be done with Jason, the owner, we knew this company was the contractor we wanted to landscape our mess of a backyard. Jason was friendly and professional. He gave us a variety of options based on what we told him we wanted to do, from basic to elegant. The work Jason and his team did was outstanding. They were on-site for three days, at the end of each day they cleaned the work area, to include any mulch dropped around their truck in the parking spaces. Jason was on-site everyday working with the team. After the work was done, we reviewed his work and had no issues. Our backyard looks amazing. We have now worked with several contractors for different projects for our home, J Reynolds was by far the most professional, honest, and easy to work with company. If you need landscape work done, this company is worth a call.

From the first time I spoke to Jason on the phone until the job was complete, things went smoothly and without incident. Jason was quick to respond and come up with an estimate and the work began within a week I believe. He and his team showed up on time and were polite and courteous throughout the job. J Reynolds is an excellent find.

Left a message and no response for two days. I understand this is a busy time for landscapers, but a quick call back would have been respectful.

We had called a few companies for estimates and this one was the only one that returned our call and did not charge anything to come out and make an estimate. The owner came out and drew a detailed plan of the work. He first listened to our ideas, then gave some very good suggestions as well. They came out to do the work within a week and did an excellent job! Not just did they solve the drainage problem in our back yard, their suggestion to hide the drain pipe under river stones around our deck even made the whole yard look better! On top of that, they even trough in some free plants to plant beside it, added mulch around the house so heavy rain would not splatter dirt on the walls. Within a day and a half they were done and as they cleaned up super after themselves you could hardly tell there was any work done at all!All of them were very professional, friendly and nice. I can not recommend them enough!

He seemed to be very nice and professional. I asked him to lower the bushes a little more than he wanted to but the only reason he didn’t want to is because he didn’t want to ruin the bush. He was good and did a great job.

We joined Angie's list to find someone to do foundation work as this was new territory for us. We found him on the list, and checked out his website so we could see the type of work he did. We called and left a message that we wanted to get an estimate, he contacted us that day to schedule an appointment, came to our house on a Saturday morning (which worked great for us), with one member of his crew, looked at the work, gave us ideas on what could be done to take care of the drainage issues we had on the property, worked up an estimate right there on the spot, (guess he has everything he needs in his truck), presented us with a proposal, he said he would leave the proposal with us, so we could think it over, but we signed the contract on the spot. The estimate was fair, and we felt very comfortable with him and felt he would do a good job. He began the work as scheduled, Jason, the owner was on site every day with his crew. Once the work was done, we paid the balance, and were very satisfied with his work. We no longer have drainage issues on the property. We liked him so much that we contracted him again to do landscaping and hardscaping, (again very satisfied), but wanted to do a separate review on that.

It was great. Jason showed up exactly when he said he was. He hauled away all of the debris and left my yard looking great.

Jason was very quick to respond to my email and asked about meeting that weekend (Sunday) for an estimate. I was wanting to get started so the quick turn-around was a plus. Jason made a great first impression. He walked around with me, listened to what I wanted but made some great suggestions based on his experience. Within 30 mins, he drew a sketch of my house and yard to show exactly what I wanted. He completed the sketch with a mulch bed around the back and side of the house that really brought it all together. If you know exactly what you want he can build it. If you're not entirely sure, but have a general idea, he can give some great suggestions. He printed out an estimate, (which included a discount since I was military) and told me to call when I was ready. I will admit, it seemed like a lot, since I had no idea what it would cost. But, what I got for that price was well worth it. He did so many extra things that were not even included. I called to schedule and he was out within 2 weeks. He showed up everyday, on time and it's just him and 2 guys. He's on the job everyday so you know its being done right. The job took a little longer than he planned at first, but that partly was because I kept adding on little jobs, but also because Jason isn't trying to complete the job as fast as he can. He really took his time and made sure things were done properly. He's like an artist, so he wants his finished product to look great. You really have to check out his website. There's not much he can't do. I was extremely impressed with his work. I'll probably be calling on him again in the future as I think of other ways to improve on the yard.

They were very good and nice. They seemed to be very knowledgeable. They were expensive but seemed to really know what they were doing. They were prompt and professional.

Jason and his two assistants started work at 8:00 am with cleaning the yard, and cleaning and weeding the planting beds. They continued to work throughout the day, took a short break for lunch and finished up in the late afternoon. It went great.

Overall working with J Reynolds Landscaping LLC was a great experience. On his first visit Jason was on time and provided us with a detailed diagram and a free estimate. My wife and I liked the idea and decided to go ahead with the project. We live in a townhome and are part of a community. It was a requirement that the pavers match the existing ones that were already installed in the community. Jason brought a sample of pavers for us to make sure we were installing the right ones. We finalized the date and on the day of the work Jason and his team were on time and everything went very smoothly and nicely. Jason is excellent in replying to emails, all my questions were answered in detail and in a timely fashion. Good customer service is a quality I really admire.

I contacted 4 companies listed on Angies list. I got a call from Jason about 10 minutes after I left his a voice-mail message. He took some basic info and told me he would call me back to make an appointment. He called back in 2 days and we made an appointment for the next day - on Saturday. He showed up on time, walked the property with me as I explained that we were getting water in out basement door. He stayed close to an hour to take measurements, etc. His immediate assessment seemed to make sense and he promised a written proposal in a few days. He met his promise and I had a detailed written proposal less than a week from my initial call. Of the other 3 contractors, 1 never got back to me, another had a receptionist call but I got no follow-up, and I got one other prompt estimate. The other estimate was for much less money, but his suggested approach was not as good as Jason's. I discussed with Jason what the other contractor wanted to do, and he said (and I agree) that a "quick drain" near my back door might solve the symptom - water coming under the door into the basement - but ignored the grading and downspout problems that were causing the water. I agreed with his assessment and hired him. He started less than 2 weeks from when I sent him the deposit and check. The job took only 2 days.He was on site the whole time. His company is him and 2 workers. They were thorough, professional and he even fixed the door going under my deck. he did a great job and now I am waiting for a big rain to see the new system at work.

He was prompt and professional but I was very confused about what I was getting for $50.

He had to drill through a stone wall to get that done. He was on time and very communicative. He did a whole bunch of things and did it promptly. He did a great job at a reasonable fee. It was wonderful. He was excellent overall. We would have him back again.

The job went superbly -- Jason and his team showed up at 8:30am as scheduled -- actually a bit earlier than 8:30. They immediately removed the existing stepping blocks that were in place serving as a makeshift walkway. The ground was leveled and the large steppers installed. The old blocks were hauled away and the excess dirt was placed in another area of the yard where it was needed. The new steppers look terrific -- especially after the mulch was placed around. The work was completed by 10:00am -- the side of my house now looks terrific!!.

I moved on to a more reputable company.
