It's pretty simple Jared Young is a scam artist. If you want to actually get your work done, please hire someone else. I've taken Jared to Small Claims court to get my money back. Luckily VA has a contractor insurance fund that will reimburse you and revoke the contractor's license. This is what i plan to do.

We hired Hybilt to build a deck on the back of our house as well as changing out our front door and frame with a new door and frame. We contracted Jarred in beginning of September with work to start end of September. We were quoted a price and were told it would take a couple weeks with completion by middle October. Work started and from the beginning it was a nightmare. Hybilt company was really just Jarred and his friend. Days stretched into weeks and stretched into months. Rarely did they come early, if at all on a daily basis. On the rare days I was at home he would show up around 11am and leave by 2-2:30. This of course included a trip to get lunch. By November I was getting pretty frustrated. During this process he would regularly ask for checks for “supplies”. Ironically that would (in hind sight) center around a weekend, or his supposed wedding or other conveniences. Meanwhile all the word is sitting on our grass killing it, as well as leaving it in the rain uncovered and it warping. As the building progressed the workmanship became more and more shoddy. Finally the beginning of January I told him he was done I couldn’t take it anymore. This was preceded by him asking for more money above the quoted amount for more supplies to complete the deck. I told him I would not give him any more money but would pay for the supplies at TW Perry in Leesburg. When I went to pay for the wood, there were also saw blades and circular saw blades to the tune of around $100 of extraneous expenses. As we have come out on the deck the workmanship is appalling. Sections of framing were pieces cut to fit together as he used scraps to finish the deck. In addition the external framing structure was crooked and the main cross section of the front of the deck is not even aligned. The wood framing is warped and misshapen. The wood doors are so cheap they are sagging and look wretched. We have had to hire a carpenter as well as a siding guy to start fixing all the mistakes. We had also hired Hybilt to replace our front door and frame. While replacing the front door there were bangs in the wall, marks everywhere and overall the door is of very poor quality. I would never let this person anywhere near my house again. He is not trustworthy, a very poor craftsman and actually commits construction fraud by not completing his contractual agreement. As we look at the deck it is apparent to us that he deliberately performed poorly by using damaged materials and using scraps of wood to build the deck. A contractor with any integrity would not have performed in this manner and delaying the project months from the delivery date
Description of Work: Deck with a portion screened in and an open section. Pitched roof and two exits to the deck.

Our interior design company that has been in business for 25 years, in Washington, DC hired Hybilt Contracting to rebuild a full size wooden bed and make into a daybed for one of our clients. After reviewing the specs and drawings, they gave us a quote for the work, and said they could have it done in about 2 to 3 weeks. When the date arrived as to when the work should have been finished, I tried calling and emailing the company, and I received no answers. I kept trying for about 2 weeks. Finally, I got a hold of one of the workers, who said the work was done, and that he would meet me at the client?s home. I arrived at the client?s home on time, but the Hybilt employee did not show up, nor did he call. After finally getting a hold of the Hybilt employee they said they had to reschedule. This same scenario continued about 2 or 3 more times. When we made a 4th appointment, he arrived with the daybed. Our client was satisfied, but wanted to make a couple of alterations to the daybed. Hybilt said it would take an additional week to complete, and took the daybed back with them to make the additional changes. Again, when it was time for the daybed to be completed and delivered to our client, Hybilt made appointments to meet at the client?s home, but never showed up. After many phone calls and emails that were never responded to, they finally showed up, 3 MONTHS after the promise date, with an invoice for 3 times the amount of the quoted price!
Description of Work: Redesigned and remade a daybed.
