The last project done in the fall of 2014, involved moving some plants and create a green border around the perimeter of the front yard. Alex designed the border and chose the plants. The crew came and did all the work. We were very pleased with the results and with the choice of plants. We will hire them again for our spring project.

Description of Work: Alex arrived for the appointment on time. He was very presentable. He looked carefully at the work that I wanted him to do, took pictures, measured, and left. He said he would e-mail me an estimate. Three days later I called him to ask him where the estimate was and he said I would have it "in two hours". I never heard from him again. Needless to say, I won't call him back.

 + 0 moreWe've used Alex every year for the past seven years. Normally he comes once or twice a year to get the gardens ready for the spring and fall/winter. We have used him to build stone walls (they look great) and to design our gardens. This year we replace all our lawn with landscaping and his designs are outstanding and his crews do quality work. I think that because we've know Alex for a while he sometimes re prioritizes us, on the other hand he also gives us great pricing so its a fair trade off.
Description of Work: We replace all our lawn and much of our existing landscaping with a new design. This was to rehabilitate the damage from having a geothermal system installed. Work Performed included:- Designing the plants / landscape- Creating a gravel driveway- installing all plants

Description of Work: The $1100 was to re-do my front lawn which had died during the summer heat. That was 2 weeks ago and it is sprouting beautifully. He has also designed and planted the landscaping for both my front and back yards. I get lots of complements and it's easy to maintain. They also do spring and fall clean-up and pruning

 + 0 moreAlex and his crew did a great job. They worked quickly to take out the stump in our small backyard, re-run the sump pump line and install sod. Aiex consulted me on what he was planning to do with the sump pump line to make sure that I was ok with it, which I appreciated. He went above and beyond by doing some extra work on an area of the backyard that was particularly low compared to the surrounding common area. He even fixed part of our gate door to accommodate the sod as a favor to us, free of charge. Alex was friendly and professional. He listened to what we wanted to do and offered suggestions based on his technical knowledge. We definitely plan to use Green Today again in the future.
Description of Work: Green Today removed a stump, rerouted our sump pump line, regraded a portion of the backyard and installed sod.

The plants are not the usual small, "needs to grow" plants that many landscapers use. Alex, the owner, travels to multiple nurserys to purchase the best, large plants available. One of the best companies of any kind that we have used! We will recommend to our friends and use again.
Description of Work: Green Today landscaped our front, side, and back lawn areas including designing a layout, adding many plants, mulching, and clean up. They also removed a large area of grass in the back yard and replaced with a beautiful stone patio.

 + -1 moreWe have a small backyard in the Cap. Hill Area. The yard was completely over grown. We told Alex generally what we wanted but he was able to figure something out that completely met our needs. He even saved us money using many of the existing plants we had. He was great to work with---very professional. And we are completely enjoying our backyard space now. One warning---while he was very responsive---we did have to wait a few weeks before he could start the work because he is so busy. But it was worth the wait and they finished in record time. They did the work in half the time they told us it would take.

 + 1 moreSee above comments. Also, Alex and his crew are punctual, incredibly fast workers and leave the entire garden in beautiful shape. Alex's prices are also reasonable. He has a wonderful sense of design and thoroughly explains everything in advance. I have used him for small and large jobs and each time am competely pleased.
Description of Work: I have used Alex and his crew many times over the last several years, and I couldn't have asked for more (in every way) on each job. They have done extensive landscape work, including pruning, trimming, moving shrubs and small trees, removing small trees, planting, tying up storm-ravaged trees and large boxwoods and demolition of a collapsed arbor (from the blizzards of 2010). Alex's advice on planting, design and maintenance is always thoughtful and expert. He knows as much about all plants and trees as anyone I've used before. And he is a great guy. His crews work their hearts out, often putting in very long days in my large Georgetown garden. This is a small, family run business and I have great respect for him and his business, which Alex started and has built into a much-in-demand operation. I couldn't recommend anyone more than Alex and Green Today.
