They are very good -- Chris Lamar is professional and communicative. He got his estimate to me quickly and it was right on target. They're very busy though, and it took about 3 weeks before he could book the job. But he communicated with me throughout the process and it was worth the wait.

Chris was very prompt and flexible both with scheduling the estimate and providing a written report. Throughout the process, he was responsive and answered all of my questions. AHS was able to work within my time frame and even finished the job early. Most importantly, the work is excellent. AHS did not cut corners and consulted with me step by step. Dan and Chris went above and beyond [the job description].

Communication was great. Chris is very responsive. Scheduling was a bit difficult as they seem quite busy (which is probably a good thing). As other have mentioned, you may have to be a bit patient. Chris strikes me as the type of person who doesn't like to cut corners which is why I heartily recommend them.

Chris came out to give me a quote on several repair tasks. He was friendly, professional, and thorough. He reviewed each task with me, and then sent me a quote later in the day. Prices were good- not the lowest, but not the highest, either. VERY responsive. I ended up not using his services ONLY because of my property management company. I would recommend his services!

There was something that they were supposed to do, but the guy was just not capable of doing it. They are okay and nothing great. There are two guys and one guy sets up the work and the other guy does the work and they make it sound like a big company. There are no major complaints, but I was looking for someone more established and a little able to give more variety of different tasks. I spent about $750 with them.

They were superb. They came in and gave the estimate. They honored the estimate. They guaranteed the start. They didn't leave until they finished; they honored that. They did a wonderful job. They were very good and very polite. They were very well priced. I would absolutely use the in the future.

Chris and Dave were both extremely professional. The job took 2 and a half days and they finished right on time. The cost of the project was exactly what they estimated it would be. Both were very nice and extremely hard working. This was a pleasant and easy experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend them and would certainly use them again in the future. Both the backsplash and the crown molding look amazing!

Overall it went fine, although the service is really just a contractor for other vendors like plumbers and electricians etc so it felt like just another layer of cost to me so i have decided to just go directly to service providers

It went incredibly smoothly. The work was fantastic, and they were very nice to have in our house. The price was shockingly low.

From estimate to complettion ever thing was good.

Chris quickly scheduled a meeting with us and showed up on time. We received the estimate in a timely fashion and he communicated with us about scheduling the work. We made a couple of changes such as deciding to have the stairs varnished rather than painted. Chris was very attentive and stayed in touch with us as we discussed the changes. The carpenter, Dan, did a great job building and finishing the stairs. Dan will be coming back to build shelves beside the basement stairs.

Fantastic! They were pretty busy so it took a bit of time to get scheduled, but the short wait was well worth it.

They did a good job. I would use them again in the future.

It was either a weekly or a monthly service that we were trying to sign up for with them. The guy who mowed the lawn cut the lawn way too short and then he left weeds sticking up. He was very responsive and punctual but I wouldn?t use them again.

Arlington Home Service has been great to work with. If Chris is unavailable when we call, he always calls back a few minutes later and apologizes for missing the call. We worked with Chris and Dan and were very impressed both by their professionalism and knowledge. Knowing that we had several jobs that needed to be completed before we moved into our new home, Chris managed to fit us in right away and complete the work by the time that we needed the next contractors to start. We were very satisfied with the work that was completed and plan to use them again for a few more jobs next week.

I contacted two different companies from Angies' list requesting a quote (by email). One company didn't respond at all and Arlington Home Services (AHS) responded to my email in a timely manner and with a fair quote, and also asked follow up questions about the existing faucet. I set up an appointment with AHS, they came out on time (about 15 minutes early, which is even better). Within the hour, the person installed the mirror precisely where I wanted and asked if it was okay after it done. He also removed an old bathroom faucet and replaced it with a new one. The job was done promptly and neatly, I couldn't ask for more. Bonus: actual price was under original quote. I would definitely use their services in the future!

They gave my a Firm Fixed Quote in writing. Their quote was the lowest. We decided during the renovation to switch to carpet tiles over subfloor/carpet. Then the roof leaked. They stated on their own that the carpet tile installation is significantly cheaper that the subfloor in the original quote so spent a day fixing the roof and gutter (not part of the original quote) at no additional cost as a tradeoff. They also put in an anti-tipping on a 6 foot wardrobe at no cost. I left them alone in my house while I went to work. They were very honest. They even turned a junk room into a game room when they saw that I was storing my stuff wrong making a whole extra rec room.The kiddies, their friends, my neighbors, and my friends all comment at how much better the basement is, despite being nothing fancy. In fact, I can't get them out of the basement now even on a sunny day. Very happy.

The carpentry work that has been done to-date has been exceptional. I'm confident that our new "shed" roof is among the best in Arlington! The painter had to be called back to complete the painting job on the garage. But, once he came back, the work was completed in a satisfactory manner. The contractor is very easy to work with. He clearly wants the customer to be satisfied. We are looking forward to having a new flagstone patio installed by this company within the next month.

Arlington Home Service were very prompt in returning my calls, we played phone tag for a couple of days before we finally set up a time for them to come out and quote. On the day that I was expecting them to arrive he called and left a message (as I was on the phone on another call) to say that having looked at my address on a map, that my house was out of their area as they didn't come this far West and North. I live in Great Falls, just off of Route 7, not in the wilds of Virginia somewhere and they are based in Arlington so I felt that this was a poor excuse. It was especially frustrating that I had wasted time booking the morning off to be here for them. He did say in his message that he would contact someone else that he knew that might be able to do the work for me, but he never came back to me to give me an answer. I was very disappointed, as I had got a good vibe from Chris Lamar on the phone originally.

I had a hard time finding a contractor to do this work. Chris was easy to work with, professional and respectful. Front porch looks great and I look forward to having Chris's crew paint the rest of the house.

For the kitchen faucet, it was $250.00 to install it. It went well. I just think they are pricey, but I guess that's what you get in this area. The job turned out well. I am satisfied with the work. They were prompt and courteous. I would use them again in the future.

Extremely happy with the work. I called and made an appointment with Chris for an estimate. He showed up on time and we had a great dialogue around the work that was needed. Chris spent the time to know exactly what my expectations were and the work that was done met that expectation perfectly. I will definitely work with Chris again.

Chris and his team are wonderful to work with. He was very communicative from the beginning--both through email and by phone. I was very impressed with how he handled a situation where one of his workers hurt his back, which delayed our start date. He showed concern for both his employee as well as for me. He alerted me right away and kept updating me on when he thought the job could begin. Overall the work that he and his team completed at my house looks great and has held up well so far. Very pleased with him and his group. Would recommend them to anyone.

Looks great. Pretty straigtforward job, I'm guessing. Will definitely use Chris for any handyman services in the future.

I called Chris about a month before the work actually began. Chris returned my call very quickly and came out to do an estimate, which he sent to me within a day or two. For various reasons, we had trouble getting it scheduled. By the time we actually got going, I had come up with another list of things I needed to have done, so Chris gave me a second estimate for those things. Finally, we decided to paint the trim on the outside of the house, another estimate. Chris and I were in close touch by email before and throughout the process. He was there when I had questions and when I wanted to add items to the list. Dan came to take care of the list, not including the painting. He started outside on the gutters and the soffit. The soffit was badly damaged from squirrels and birds, and Dan had to hunt to find matching soffit material. He cleaned the gutters and recommended that we not replace the gutter screens that had been coming down in storms for some time, anyway. He fixed the leak in the hose bib. He then he worked on the leak in the sink, which turned out to be a combination of things. He leveled the sink, replaced the supply lines and the collar to the drain and applied plumbers putty to the places where any leak might possibly occur. He then silicone sealed around the sink and at the base of the pedestal. In the upstairs bathroom he replaced the sink fixtures and again replaced the supply lines, which were showing their age. In all cases, if he was about to do something I hadn't anticipated, he checked with me first. This was to make sure that I understood why he was doing what he was doing. There was never any change in the price. I had bought all of the plumbing materials, smoke detectors and bathroom fans before the work started. When Dan discovered that one of the smoke detectors was defective, he took it back to Home Depot on his lunch break and got a new one. Dan worked with a smooth competence that requires very little oversight. Communication was good, and we each understood what the other needed to know. He did a very careful job on the drywall, including painting it when he was done. Towards the end of his last day, I kept coming up with small things that needed to be done, that I told Chris about and expected that he would add to the bill. When he gave me the invoice at the end of the job, he said that he hadn't added anything for those last small things. A very nice surprise. Then we started painting the exterior trim. Oscar spent one entire day sanding away years of wear on the redwood on the south facing wall. It was very hot, and he just kept going. But the end of the day, you could actually see the beautiful wood again. The next day was spent prepping the painted trim around the rest of the house. I had bought the paint for the trim and the sealer for the redwood. After Oscar had sealed part of the redwood, he called me to look at it, because it had darkened the wood a lot, when it was supposed to be clear. It took us a trip to the paint store and watching for several days before we were pretty sure that it would lighten as it thoroughly dried. Chris told me that if I was dissatisfied, he would have Oscar sand it off and start over with a different product, even though they were not responsible for choosing it in the first place. The only snag we hit was with the trim on the front of the house. There are three colors on the columns that really need to be crisply defined to look good. Oscar tried very hard to do what I wanted, but we just weren't communicating as well as needed. In the end, Chris stepped in to aid communication. It took a couple of passes and some painters tape to make the lines sharply defined, but it looks very good. AHS does just about anything you can think of. From my experience, I would definitely work with them again and recommend them to my friends.
